In the 2025 edition of the Quibdó Africa Film Festival, we delve into a unique and vibrant space where Africa and its Diaspora converge. This festival is more than just a series of film screenings – it's a comprehensive cultural experience featuring workshops, conferences, and artistic exhibitions.
It's an odyssey that traverses the realms of the unknown, journeying through time – from past to present and into the future. This event is not just about showcasing films; it's about exploring a space that embodies both memory and representation, a space that prompts us to reflect on our history and the myriad ways we have evolved.
The 2025 festival is set to be a grand assembly of avant-garde Afro filmmakers, representing a dynamic artistic and cultural movement that boldly reimagines new identities through the fusion of art and historical fantasy. These creators engage in a vibrant dialogue within this artistic whirlwind, challenging and redefining conventional narratives.
At the heart of our vision for 2025 is the concept of "afrodisruptive" cinema. This genre is meant to startle and challenge, to be potent, impactful, and unsettling. It aims to disrupt the tranquility of the status quo, upending and reinvigorating it. This revolutionary artistic concept spans 360 degrees, offering a critical reexamination and reinterpretation of African traditions and narratives.
In essence, the Quibdó Africa Film Festival 2024 is not just an event; it's a cultural revolution, a reawakening of perspectives, and a celebration of the relentless spirit of Afro cinema and artistry.

5 Film & Photo Awards Festival
The 5 Film & Photo Award is an International Event for Film and Photography with the Intention to create a bridge between different countries and cultures. The Festival is inspired by a 500 years old tree in the suburb of Damavand, located in the village of Aro.
This tree has been the subject of photographs of International Director and photographer Abbas Kiarostami every year in different seasons for many years. His photographs have been exhibited under the title “Snow White” in world-renowned galleries such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York.
About 5 years ago, Mahdi Khorashadizadeh, a documentary photographer and Filmmaker and the Founder of 5 Film & Photo Awards photographed this tree again and created the festival to celebrate this cultural and iconic symbol, which symboliyes Abbas Kiarostami’s artistic legacy.
The number “5” is derived from the movie “5” made by Abbas Kiarostami, which has been published in 2002 and contains 5 scenes with the average duration of 16 minutes.
Festival 5 is a prestigious and large festival for film and photography. This festival supports artists from all over the world by awarding exquisite prizes. We have been holding this festival for five years. Our goal is to find independent and modern artists. We support independent artists. Artists who have worked hard to produce their works.

Phare International Film Festival – Mauritius was established in 2020. It has been created by a talented group of local entrepreneurs and film-makers. After successfully producing their own productions, and entering festivals, they understood the need to enhance the local film industry.
Mauritius is paradise, and has been a location for many high profile documentaries, series and films – yet the impact on our industry locally was insignificant. We decided to create a platform that not only encourages local film makers but offers the potential to showcase their talent further afield. Likewise, showcasing International cinema, we promote the wonderful Island called Mauritius to the outside world.
Our philosophy is to showcase incredible talent along with high quality independent films to the audience of Mauritius, opening a door to a new potential market. We have adopted an informal and relaxed festival approach, with the glamour of much larger festivals.
Doc Coimbra is an international film festival that showcases the best in documentary films from political and social perspectives. Our festival is based in the historical city of Coimbra, Portugal, and showcase films from Portuguese speaking countries and international films.

We are committed to providing a space for meaningful conversations, and our films reflect our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive space for all.
We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and inspiring environment for filmmakers to share stories and perspectives from around the world. We invite you to join us at our next festival and be part of a movement to share stories that matter.
