Begiradak is an AMATEUR film festival. We understand amateur cinema to be the
work of authors who work in a non-professional context, in a space of research, search, without
financial compensation, for the love of cinema but also understanding it as a tool for dissemination, education or protest.
This non-professional context can occur in a school, community, group, or individual setting.
Professional groups from the audiovisual sector, film schools, universities, etc. will not
be able to participate.
All groups, associations,Basque-medium school, schools, HEIs and individual authors from the national and international territory may participate.
The works may be presented in any language, but must be subtitled in Spanish or english.
The works will have a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
You may submit as many works as you wish, as long as they are dated after January 1, 2022.
The organization reserves the right to choose the works that will participate in the Festival.
The original recordings must have a minimum of image and audio quality so that the work can be understood. Works that do not meet this requirement will be excluded.
REGISTRATION will be made through the Festhome platform.
In any case, if you encounter any difficulty with the platform, please don't hesitate to
contact us at begiradakfestival@ikertze.net.
The mandatory formats for the presentation of the works will be: MPGE2 .MPEG4 .MOV .AVI
Along with the registration form, 2 frames in jpg. or png. format of the work will be attached.
The festival has 9 participation categories, which are not necessarily exclusive, and the author must indicate in which one they are participating during registration. The Festival will respect this choice and reserves the right to include the work in another category if deemed appropriate. Each category is associated with a prize, a sculpture by the sculptor Iñigo Aristegui.
The categories are:
1. Short films made by primary school students and/or aimed at this age range of audience, between 6 and 12 years old.
2. Short films made by high school and baccalaureate students and/or aimed at this age
range of audience, between 12 and 18 years old.
