We are launching the call for entries for the 6th edition, taking place in Colonia Santa Teresa from April 8 to 11, 2027!

Workshops, seminars, a laboratory, synergies, and partnerships await at our International Meeting Point: even in a very tough year for film festivals in Argentina, PampaDocFest stands strong. We invite you to check out the rules and conditions for this new call for entries.

AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS

In addition to the official awards, the Jury may grant a special mention in each category; these carry no monetary prize. Awards may not be declared unawarded, nor may they be shared (*ex aequo*).

Prizes for the three competing categories: 6th Edition Sayén Statuette + Diploma and official laurel (PNG). (Shipping costs for the physical award are the responsibility of the recipient).
Audience Award for Best Documentary (*)
Recognitions: Retrospective and "Respetos" (Tributes): Outstanding Documentary Filmmaker.
Special Mention for a Patagonian documentary, selected by the PampaDocFest Pre-Selection Team.

(*) The Audience Award at PampaDocFest is determined by audience voting (scored as the average of votes cast) with the special participation of accredited press. Both this award and the Recognitions include a diploma and laurels (PNG), but do not include a monetary prize or a statuette.

INTRODUCTION

Produced by the Angular Foundation and the Municipality of Colonia Santa Teresa—and officially recognized as being of Legislative and Cultural Interest by the government of La Pampa Province—the "PampaDocFest" International Documentary Film Festival will take place in person in the town from April 8 to 11, 2027.
The festival aims to foster and facilitate encounters among members of the national and international film communities and to showcase non-fiction films. Furthermore, it seeks to encourage interaction among filmmakers, technical crew members, and enthusiasts of the genre, creating a space for exchange and dialogue. It aims to provide training opportunities that contribute to cultural development and the dissemination of documentary filmmaking, while promoting a critical and reflective view of reality. Additionally, the festival strives to boost local and regional cultural development by offering opportunities to new generations of creators and fostering the growth of a community committed to art and culture.


SELECTION PROCESS:

Registration and documentation

Film submission is free and open to national and international feature-length and short films belonging exclusively to the documentary genre.

To participate in the 6th Edition of the Colonia Santa Teresa International Documentary Film Festival, registration and the completion of all required information are mandatory. Submissions must be made via the Festhome platform before the deadline (Friday, December 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM).

Failure to provide the requested information will result in the exclusion of the audiovisual works from the selection process.

Competitive categories:

International Documentary Short Film

Short films must not exceed 20 minutes in duration.

Documentaries produced on or after January 1, 2022, will be accepted, provided the submitter holds all necessary rights for screening at the Festival and on the PampaDocPlay platform, as well as for promotional use and screenings during the Festival’s touring program (PampaDocHorizontes). Participants must guarantee that the submitted works do not infringe upon third-party rights and are duly authorized for public screening.


International Documentary Feature Film

Feature films must exceed 20 minutes in duration.

Documentaries produced on or after January 1, 2022, will be accepted, provided the submitter holds all necessary rights for screening at the Festival and on the PampaDocPlay platform, as well as for promotional use and screenings during the Festival’s touring program (PampaDocHorizontes). Participants must guarantee that the submitted works do not infringe upon third-party rights and are duly authorized for public screening.


Documentary Short Film on "Rurality"

Documentaries portraying aspects of rural life (films shot outside of urban contexts will be considered for this category). duration must not exceed 20 minutes. Documentaries produced on or after January 1, 2022, will be accepted, provided the rights holders possess all necessary rights for screening at the Festival and on the PampaDocPlay platform, as well as for distribution and screenings as part of the Festival’s touring program (PampaDocHorizontes). Participants must guarantee that the submitted works do not infringe upon the rights of third parties and that they are duly authorized for public screening.

Entering an audiovisual work into the competition implies full acceptance of and compliance with these Participation Rules and any associated annexes. Participants must guarantee that the submitted works do not infringe upon the rights of third parties and that they are duly authorized for public screening. All films not in Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.


JURIES
The Festival’s Pre-Selection Committee will recommend to the Jury the films that, in the Committee members' opinion, should be selected for this edition of the Festival.

Jury decisions are final and not subject to appeal or justification.

Individuals with interests in the production, distribution, or any other form of exploitation of—or participation in—the audiovisual works selected for the competition may not serve on the Jury.

The Jury may award a maximum of one prize per audiovisual work and may grant special mentions alongside the official awards. awards in any category may not be declared unawarded, and awards carrying a cash prize may not be shared (*ex aequo*).

The Jury’s work will be carried out in collaboration with PampaDocFest.

OBLIGATIONS FOR AWARD-WINNING FILMS
The production companies and/or parties responsible for the registered film must submit high-quality copies or screening links of the winning works to the Festival. We would appreciate it if the award received (logo/laurels) were included in the materials.


REQUIREMENTS FOR SELECTED FILMS
Once the Festival has selected a film and its participation has been confirmed by the director, producer, or the production/distribution company that registered it, the film may not be withdrawn.

The awards ceremony will take place in the town of Cnia. Santa Teresa. We hope the filmmakers will be able to attend. The Organization will not cover travel expenses but will assist with logistics and provide accommodation and lunch for the duration of the Festival.

PROGRAMMING, "PAMPADOCPLAY" online PLATFORM, AND EXHIBITION RIGHTS
During the event, the organizers reserve the right to screen selected audiovisual works in at least one public session. In this regard, production companies grant the rights for public exhibition during the Festival without cost to the Festival, and are exempt from paying screening fees.

The organizers reserve the right to add a copy of the winning audiovisual works to the Festival archive for cultural, non-profit use.

Additionally, documentaries in the Official Selection will be made available for viewing—in "private" mode—via the "PampaDocPlay" digital platform (operated by Angular, the Festival's organizing entity). This will take place over a one-month period as part of "PampaDocFest Month" using a pay-per-view model (with proceeds going toward Festival production costs), and the films are exempt from screening fees.

Once the month concludes, the film's production company or director may choose to remain on the PampaDocPlay platform under an on-demand payment model. This arrangement will be settled subsequently and directly between the parties involved.


VERSIONS & subtitleS
All screening copies of audiovisual works selected for the various Festival sections must be presented in their original version; works not originally in Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.


SUBMISSIONS & SCREENING FORMATS

The distributor and/or representative that registered the selected film agrees to deliver the work in a timely and proper manner and to certify the quality of the copy (audio/video synchronization, color, etc.), which must be submitted in digital format. Any film not submitted by the designated deadline will be disqualified.

The Festival reserves the right to reject copies that, following necessary technical checks, are deemed unsuitable for screening; in such cases, a technical report will be provided to the film's representatives, and a new copy will be requested. The Festival will not accept physical copies.


CATALOGUE AND DOCUMENTATION

Documentation and materials requested by the Festival for the official catalogue, program guide, and website (synopsis, biography/filmography, cast and crew details, photos of the director and the film, trailers, and other audiovisual materials) will be sourced from the online submission form for selected films, which must be completed by the dates specified in Section 2.

Should additional material be required, the Festival will request its submission by specified dates.


PRESS AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL

The Festival’s Press Department will contact the director, producer, and/or the production and/or distribution companies of the selected audiovisual works—if necessary—to oversee and coordinate the materials listed in the selection form, which will be made available to the media and accredited press. By accepting participation, the production and/or distribution companies of the selected feature films, short films, and documentaries authorize the use of one or more brief excerpts from their titles for dissemination as promotional or informational material across any media outlet and social media platform.


ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS

These participation rules may be supplemented or modified by the Festival Management through any additional annexes deemed appropriate, prior to the start date of the Cnia. Santa Teresa International Documentary Film Festival and following notification to the interested parties.

The interpretation of these rules shall be the exclusive prerogative of the Festival Management.
