DATES AND LOCATION

To achieve its objectives, the Àger International Film Festival will celebrate its 3rd edition from October 3rd to 5th, 2025. It will take place in the town of Àger (Lleida) and will be held at the premises of La Colegiata de Sant Pere d’Àger.

COMPETITIVE SECTIONS

This third edition of the festival will include an Official Short Film Competition.

Fiction, animation, or documentary works with a social theme, of any nationality, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and produced after January 1, 2023, are eligible to compete.

• The competition is international in scope.
• Short films produced after January 1, 2023, may participate.
• The theme must be social, but the genre is open.
• Any producer and/or director may participate, individually or collectively.
• Each participant may submit one work.
• If the original language is not Spanish or Catalan, subtitles in one of these two languages are required—or in English if not available. Subtitles must be submitted in an SRT file.
• Works must not exceed 30 minutes in duration.
• Submitted works must have HD, Full HD, 2K, or 4K resolution. The minimum resolution accepted is 1920x1080 (1080p).
• Advertising or touristic works will not be accepted, nor will those using more than 10% non-original material. Works that lack sufficient technical quality for proper screening will also be excluded.

SUBMISSION AND SELECTION PROCESS

To participate in the 3rd edition of the Àger International Film Festival, it is mandatory to register and complete the submission form via FESTHOME before July 6th. Otherwise, the audiovisual works will be excluded from the selection process.

To correctly complete the submission, directors, producers, or their legal representatives must first create a profile on FESTHOME, register the short film on the platform, and finally submit it to the Àger International Film Festival (FICdÀ).
The submission fee is €1.50.

WORK SELECTION

Notification of the selected films by the Àger International Film Festival will be strictly confidential between the festival management and the producers or legal representatives of the selected films until the festival decides to announce it publicly.

Selected films must confirm their participation within 72 hours of notification.

The producer or legal representative confirming participation will be responsible for communicating the acceptance to institutions, sales agents, and other professionals involved in the production or distribution of the short film.

Once the selection is announced and participation confirmed by the submitting company, the film may not be withdrawn.

Directors, producers, or legal representatives of selected films must ensure that their work does not infringe on intellectual property or other third-party rights and release the Àger International Film Festival from any liability.

PROGRAMMING AND SCREENING RIGHTS

Selected short films will be screened publicly during the festival days.

During the festival, the organization reserves the right to screen the selected short films in public sessions as deemed appropriate. For this purpose, producers grant the right to screen the film publicly during the festival without any screening fees.

Excerpts from selected works may be used, if necessary, for the festival's promotion in the media (e.g., official trailer).

SCREENING AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL

Once a short film is selected and its participation confirmed, the following is required:

Option 1:
Send a downloadable streaming link, password-protected (via Vimeo, YouTube, or Google Drive). Ensure that the files remain available until October 6th, 2025.

Option 2:
Send the screening copies through a platform provided by the festival. Companies will have seven (7) days to upload the film from the day access is granted. Files must be in digital format (DCP and MOV or MP4) with a minimum HD resolution. Files will be deleted after the festival.
Minimum projection resolution accepted is 1920x1080 (1080p). If subtitles are required, an SRT file must be included.

For both options, and to facilitate promotion, the following must be sent electronically to hola@ficda.cat as soon as possible:
