In-FCTA. Festival de Cinema de la Terra Alta ()

The in-FCTA Highland Pro Section is dedicated to professional short films selected through multiple submission channels, with the aim of showcasing high-quality work and distinct cinematic voices.

Eligible films must be up to 20 minutes in length, completed after January 1, 2023, and not commercially released in the Terra Alta region. Submissions are accepted via Festhome and FilmFreeway. Submission fee: €10.

The in-FCTA Highland Section is open to non-professional short films created independently by amateur filmmakers, students, or association members who do not work professionally in the audiovisual industry.

Short films must be recorded in any format, have a maximum duration of 10 minutes, and be completed after January 1, 2023. Works may be shot with mobile phones (horizontal only), home cameras, or any available equipment. Participation is free of charge.

The in-FCTA Talents Section is designed to spotlight new voices and support emerging filmmakers.

Open to short films coming from film or audiovisual schools, or created by directors with less than three years of experience. Eligible films must be between 5 and 10 minutes long, completed after January 1, 2023, and can be filmed in any format.

This section is a space for experimentation, discovery and bold storytelling from the next generation.

– FATO in-FCTA FEM: For the best short directed by a woman under 30 → Terra Alta Experience and LoFato in-FCTA trophy

The in-FCTA Highland Mini Section celebrates independent and self-managed audiovisual works that are committed to creativity, personal expression, and low-budget storytelling.

This section is open to short films of up to 5 minutes, completed on or after January 1, 2023, and created outside of the commercial industry. Projects funded by major studios or production companies are not eligible.

The festival especially values films that reflect an independent spirit, narrative experimentation, and the unique vision of the filmmaker. Any type of recording device may be used: mobile phones, home cameras, or personal gear.

The in-FCTA Highland School Section is dedicated to short films created by primary and secondary school students under the age of 18.

This section aims to promote audiovisual creativity within the educational context and to give visibility to new young voices. Eligible films must be completed after January 1, 2023, and have a maximum duration of 10 minutes. Films can be recorded in any format, including mobile phones (horizontal only), home or school cameras. No submission fee is required.

The in-FCTA International Section aims to open the festival to productions from around the world, with a special focus on Ibero-American cinema and films from countries with lower representation in the global circuit.

We welcome short films that offer diverse perspectives, innovative storytelling, and explore themes such as cultural identity, memory, or the human-environment relationship.

Eligible short films must be up to 20 minutes long, completed after January 1, 2023, and not commercially released in the Terra Alta region. The submission fee is €10.
