Festival start: 15 April 2026      Festival end: 17 April 2026

FILMS in Class & Beyond International Festival was created with the aim of recognizing, highlighting, and celebrating audiovisual talent generated in the educational and social spheres.

FILMS in Class & Beyond International Festival provides a space where teachers, students, people with disabilities, and at-risk communities can share their stories, lessons learned, and perspectives on the world, using cinema as an educational, artistic, and inclusive tool.

FILMS in Class & Beyond International Festival understands audiovisual language as a powerful means of learning by doing, communicating through feeling, and transforming through creativity.

The festival is held in person in A Coruña and Madrid (Spain), and Latin America, allowing for open, international participation without geographical or physical barriers.

This initiative began in Maturin, Venezuela, in 2009 with a training course in audiovisual production given by a group of teachers specializing in filmmaking. This led to the first exhibition, called “CINEHasta en las Aulas” (Cinema in the Classroom), held in 2010, and since then there have been seven editions.
