FAMCINE - Festival De Cine Familiar De Campo Lameiro (2)

From a remote village on the banks of the Lérez River, this family film festival was born, aiming to bring cinema to rural areas, promote audiovisual talent, and help the local school's Parents' Association (ANPA) raise funds for activities with its students.

Organized by the production company Digital Monster Collective, in collaboration with the ANPA of the CEIP Pedro Antonio Cerviño school and the Campo Lameiro Town Council, this festival will take place in several screenings at different locations around the village, including the Community Center and the primary school.

The following awards will be presented:

Background
Digital Monster Collective, in collaboration with the ANPA of CEIP Pedro Antonio Cerviño, the Campo Lameiro Town Council, and Petra Cultura organizes this film festival with the intention of:
• Creating a space that brings independent cinema closer to rural areas.
• Rewarding talent and creativity within the world of audiovisual creation.
• Raising funds for the ANPA to fund activities for the boys and girls of CEIP Pedro Antonio Cerviño.
• Opening our beautiful town—awarded as the Capital of Rural Tourism in Spain in 2023 and Capital of Rock Art—to the world as a meeting point for rural life, culture, and cinema.
• Generating an event where children and their families can enjoy cinema together.

Submission Requirements

Short Film Category

1. duration and Date: Short films must be under 15 minutes long, made using any technique (except AI), and produced between 2023 and the submission deadline for this contest in 2025.

2. Format: Submissions must be in MP4 or Mov (H.264) format with HD 1080 resolution.

3. language: Works may be in any official language of Spain and must include subtitles in either Spanish or Galician.

4. Theme: Themes are open, provided they do not involve discrimination, promote hatred or xenophobia, and do not contain explicit sexual content. They must be suitable for all audiences (family or children's cinema).

5. Genres: Narrative and experimental short films, music videos, promotional pieces, and video game cinematics will be accepted, provided the author holds the exploitation rights for the work and any branding featured in it, and all other rules are met.

6. Originality: Works must be original, and the author must be the owner of the exploitation rights of the submitted piece.

7. AI Restriction: The use of generative artificial intelligence to create short films is strictly prohibited.
Feature Film Category

• duration and Date: Films must be between 40 and 150 minutes long, made using any technique (except AI), and produced between 2023 and the submission deadline for this contest in 2025.

• Format: Submissions must be in MP4 or Mov (H.264) format with HD 1080 resolution.

• language: Works may be in any official language of Spain and must include subtitles in either Spanish or Galician.

• Theme: Themes are open, provided they do not involve discrimination, promote hatred or xenophobia, and do not contain explicit sexual content. They must be suitable for all audiences (family or children's cinema).

• Genres: Narrative and experimental films, music videos, promotional pieces, and video game cinematics will be accepted, provided the author holds the exploitation rights for the work and any branding featured in it, and all other rules are met.

• Originality: Works must be original, and the author must be the owner of the exploitation rights of the submitted piece.

• AI Restriction: The use of generative artificial intelligence to create feature films is strictly prohibited.

Short Film Subcategories

Within the short film category, there are two subcategories: fiction and animation.

• Fiction Category: Open to all filmmakers over 18 years of age whose films meet the rules and were shot with a camera (whether professional, amateur, or mobile phone).

• Animation Category: Open to any work by filmmakers over 18 years of age that meets the rules and has been created using animation techniques for at least 75% of the piece. Both traditional techniques (stop-motion, 2D, pixilation...) and digital techniques (3D, 2D...) are accepted.

Showcase for Film, Acting, and Animation Schools

• Content: Scenes, showreels, or projects from national schools offering film, acting, or animation training.

• duration: Between 1 and 4 minutes maximum.

• Nature: This is a non-competitive section.

• Format: Submissions must be in MP4 or Mov (H.264) format with HD 1080 resolution.

• language: Works may be in any official language of Spain and must include subtitles in either Spanish or Galician.

• Theme & Appropriateness: Themes are open, provided they do not involve discrimination, promote hatred or xenophobia, and do not contain explicit sexual content. They must be suitable for all audiences (family or children's cinema).

• Accepted Formats: Narrative and experimental short films, music videos, promotional pieces, and video game cinematics will be accepted, provided the author holds the exploitation rights for the work and any branding featured in it. Scenes shot with students or clips forming a demo reel showcasing their work will be accepted.

• AI Restriction: The use of generative artificial intelligence is not allowed.
Registration

• deadline: The deadline for registering short films is January 31, 2027.

• Platform: Registration must be completed through the FESTHOME website.

• Cost: Registration will be free, with the exception of the schools category, which will have a fee of 10 euros.

• Acceptance: Registering a work implies the full acceptance of these terms and rules.

• Disqualification: Submissions delivered after the deadline or those that do not meet the criteria outlined in this call will not be admitted. Any work found to contain plagiarism, AI use, copyright infringement, unacceptable content/duration, or that is not intended for a family audience will be rejected from the festival and competition.

• Eligibility: Both professionals and students may participate.

• Promotional Material: Along with the film, applicants must submit a teaser (in the same format as the short film) and a vertical poster of the work to be used for event promotion if selected as finalists.

*The organization reserves the right to award a runner-up prize or special mention if a piece merits it.


Criteria for Awarding prizes

prizes will be evaluated based on originality, technical quality, narrative depth (or complexity of technique for experimental works), and the value contributed by the choice of topic. Projects must also be appropriately suited for the target audience (families with children of all ages).

Assignment of Intellectual Property Rights

Participation in this call implies the free, non-exclusive, worldwide, and open-ended assignment of the intellectual property rights of the submitted works to the organization, including the right to assign them to third parties (press, social networks, and media), for the following purposes:

• Screening the finalist short films in different venues across Campo Lameiro during the festival days.

• Promoting the event on social networks and press using video clips or teasers.

• Promoting future editions of the event using video clips or teasers.

• Winning short films, in particular, may be screened again in future editions of the festival as a retrospective.

• Promoting the event on social media and press releases using the submitted posters.

The organization is considering a non-competitive section called "Panorama," which would be broadcast live via Twitch and remain visible on the platform for up to two days. After this period, the videos will be permanently deleted from the platform.

This assignment includes, but is not limited to, the rights of reproduction, distribution, public communication, transformation, and any other intellectual or industrial property rights recognized by applicable legislation, always limited to the uses described above.

Jury and Resolution

• Announcement: The jury's decision is final. The winning projects will be announced on March 13, 2027, at the Campo Lameiro Sports Center (or another location to be announced in advance) during a dedicated event starting at 6:00 PM.

• Finalists: Finalists will be announced on February 22, 2027, on social media, and participants will be notified via email.

• Jury Composition: The Jury will consist of members appointed by the organizers, alongside professionals and critics from the audiovisual world.

• Void awards: The jury reserves the right to declare any prize void. If this occurs, the prize money will be rolled over to the next edition of the festival.

• Audience Award: Votes will be collected using a ballot provided with the entry ticket. Audience members will vote for the finalist projects selected by the jury during the screenings. Ballots must be placed in designated ballot boxes when leaving the screening room. The project with the most votes will win.

• Laurels: Winners agree to include the festival laurel on their short film and in all public communications.

Final Provisions

• Responsibility: The Organizing Committee—composed of members of the Digital Monster Collective, the ANPA of CEIP Pedro Antonio Cerviño, representatives appointed by the Campo Lameiro Town Council, and members of the Petra Cultura Association—is responsible for the proper execution of the contest.

• Right to Amend: The Organizing Committee reserves the right to make changes to these rules to better achieve the contest's goals.

• Cancellation: The Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel or annul all or part of the contest if fraud or a breach of rules is detected. In such cases, they reserve the right to withhold prizes from any fraudulent participant. Fraudulent actions will result in immediate disqualification.

• Communication: The Organizing Committee will determine and communicate any changes or exceptions affecting these rules.

Acceptance of the Rules

By submitting their entries, participants accept these rules and the decision of the Jury, waiving the right to any future claims.

These rules will be published on this webpage and on social networks, and they will take effect from their date of publication.
