The 18th Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival will take place in Łódź on September 23-27, 2020.

The motto of the upcoming edition is: "BIODIVERSITY IS AN OPPORTUNITY".

The following may participate in the Festival:

1. short (up to 40 minutes) and medium (40 - 70 minutes) films devoted to the nature of Europe, protection of the natural environment, human coexistence with the natural world, and related issues,
2. popular-scientific and scientific films, documentaries, animated, television nature programs, as well as other film forms with a projection time of up to 60 minutes,
3. films made after January 1, 2017, which did not take part in the 17th Włodzimierz Puchalski Intenational Nature Festival in 2017.

We are waiting for films until July 31, 2020.

Only films with a screening time of 3 to 15 minutes, made by people between 10 and 20 years old, will be admitted to the Youth Nature Film Competition.

We are waiting for films in the youth part until July 31, 2020.

The festival's organizers are: Wytwórnia Filmów Oświatowych Sp. z o.o., "Film - Przyroda – Kultura" Association, Łódzki Dom Kultury and "Łódź Filmowa" Association.

1. All films and TV programmes, qualified for the Festival, shall be evaluated by the Festival Jury appointed by the organisers. The prize fund amounts approximately EUR 12,000 (may be modified).
2. The Jury has the right to award distinctions, honorary diplomas and special awards which are not provided for in the Rules, but are available to the organisers.
3. Decisions of the Jury are final and may not be appealed.

Festival Participation Terms and Conditions.
1. Films eligible to participate in the Festival:
a) short-length films (up to 40 minutes long) and medium-length films (40 - 70 minutes long) dedicated to Europe’s nature, environmental protection, coexistence of man with the world of nature and related issues,
b) popular science, science, documentary and animation films, nature TV programmes as well as other film forms of the running time not exceeding 60 minutes,
c) films made after 1st January 2017, which did not take part in the 17th Włodzimierz Puchalski International Nature Film Festival in 2017,
2. The copies of the films selected for the Festival competition must be delivered on a digital medium in the following format: DCP (Digital Cinema Package), Blu-ray disc
3. The films may be submitted by producers and individual artists, provided that they have the rights to disseminate the film.
4. A Selection Committee decides whether a given film is admitted to the competition.
5. Films and TV programmes shall be submitted in writing, using the forms (available at www.wfo.com.pl FESTIVAL tab or sent to the interested parties following prior submission by phone) not later than until 31st July 2020, to the following address:

6. All entries should include:
a) entry form,
b) film copies in Full HD MP 4 or DVD format,
c) dialogue lists and comments (for foreign films, in English),
d) film stills along with the consent to use them in the Festival Catalogue, of the resolution of at least 2600x2600 pixels, stating also the name of the author,
e) the list, including names of animal and plant species featured in the film, in Latin,
f) short description of the film, serving as a suggestion of a text to be inserted in the Festival Catalogue (maximum 500 characters),
g) declaration, asserting the ownership of copyrights and related rights to the submitted film,
h) production crew list and film details.

Festival will accept your film submission free of charge.
DVDs will not be returned.

7. Film submissions addressed to the Selection Committee of the Youth Nature Film Competition shall be sent on DVD or in MP 4 format along with entry form, until 31st July 2020, to the following address:

We will accept your film submissions to the competition free of charge.
DVDs will not be returned.
8. Only films of the running time from 3 to 15 minutes and made by persons aged from 10 to 20 years will be admitted to take part in the Youth Nature Film Competition.

9. Individual participation entries for the Festival shall be sent using the accreditation forms, to the following address:

10. Participants will be informed about the positive decision of the Selection Committee when the Committee completes its works and they shall have the obligation to send film copies within two weeks following prior confirmation receipt.
11. The organiser has the right to copy the materials (including DVDs) for the needs related to the organisation of the Festival’s programme.
12. The organiser does not return the materials (including DVDs) received for selection. All the films submitted and promotional materials shall become a part of the Festival archive.
