The Women and Diversity Film Festival of the FESTMYD genre, a project financed by the Audiovisual Development Fund, through the Festival Programming modality with regional samples, call 2022 of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, will celebrate the this current year, its second version in a hybrid way, in which it seeks to make visible and promote national cinematographic pieces that are directed by Women (Cis/Trans), Gender Diversities (Non-Binaries, Gender Fluid and Trans Men) and Intersexuals, who address representations of themes with a gender perspective.

In its second version, it contemplates 2 lines of competition: National Feature Film and Regional Short Film.

In this opportunity, FESTMYD will be developed online with its programming in Festhome for the entire national territory and in person in the Valparaíso region, in the communes of Viña del Mar, Valparaíso, Villa Alemana, Quilpué and Quillota, and in the Region of Coquimbo in the communes of Ovalle and La Serena, intertwining movie theaters, cultural centers, educational establishments, social organizations, public spaces and film and audiovisual schools, linking activities to the territories where they take place, seeking to generate a relationship reciprocal with the audiences to which we address, in order to be a contribution to the collective construction of intangible cultural heritage.

The Women and Gender Diversity Film Festival is a project organized by La Bandada SPA together with a group of feminist audiovisual colleagues from various regions of the country.

In its second version, it has the support of different cultural and educational entities such as the Film School of the University of Valparaíso, the University of La Serena Cultural Scene Project, the Valparaíso Cultural Park, the Valparaíso Ex-Prison Assembly, Empoderadas Chile, Education, Art and Culture Corporation, Intersexuals Chile, La Finca, Lumbre Colectiva, Nosotras Audiovisuales, Pajarx entre Púas, Pies Disidentes, Fundación Nacer Futuro, Cabras Audiovisuales Collective, Various Audiovisual Artistic Collective Association, La Raza Cómica Magazine, Contractual Registry Project, Grouping Ovalle Feminist Action, De Quillota Women and Gender Equity Communal Office, SAFO Feminist Cultural Network, “Mirador Mayaca” Neighborhood Council, Reverdecer Neighborhood Organization (Villa Alemana), Valparaíso Portal Plaza Waddington, Odeón Theater, Barrio Puerto Collective, among others.

FESTMYD 2° will take place from November 17 to November 27, 2022 in a hybrid way, subject to the health restrictions at the time of the event.

In the second version of FESTMYD, we want to once again give space to the voices and teams of women and gender diversities, maintaining the commitment made in our first version by showcasing their works in non-traditional spaces for film appreciation, such as neighborhoods and squares that we visited at FESTMYD 2021. To these spaces this year we will add movie theaters, theaters and cultural centers. We will also have the online exhibition that will be carried out by Festhome.

The dates considered for the different platforms:

-Festhome Exhibition [November 18 to 27]: includes the exhibition of the competition of regional short films and national feature film.

-Face-to-face exhibition in the communal territories of Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Quilpué, Villa Alemana, Quillota, Ovalle and La Serena [Dates to be confirmed]: includes the exhibition of the regional short film competition.
