The Torrelavega International Short Film Festival , organized by the Department of Culture of the City Council, was born in the spring of 2000 with the entry of the new century.
Torrelavega is likely to be one of the few Spanish cities that can boast of being a pioneer in this world as they speak of cinema, international festivals, filmmakers encounter and exchange of knowledge is not new in this city. Before the proliferation of competitions and short film festivals in Spain, Torrelavega lived more than twenty editions Film Festival Sniace precursor in Spain of independent cinema and similar initiatives. This led to the birth of filmmakers who reported the name of Torrelavega in different national and international festivals, obtaining numerous awards. Interestingly, the growth of the city, the cultural dynamism and new habits left her without cinemas and film such cultural needs, values of a new generation and vocation film ever made this festival was born.

Organizer of 20min|max is the public charity Von der Rolle e.V. – Film Culture Association, and Stadttheater Ingolstadt in cooperation with Audi Repertory Cinema and the Museum of Concrete Art Ingolstadt. 20minmax is considered as venue for filmmakers and those interested in short film and visual art. The Festival provides time and place to engage in short films, meet film producers and discuss their ideas. For the eleventh time we announce this international competition for cinematic expressivity, autonomous formal style, impressive stories – ergo: artistic synthesis of direction, montage, sound and light will be presented and awarded. 20minmax film competition is open to all genres of shortfilm: animation, fictional film, documentary, experimental film and video art, music clips etc.
As regards content, the festival programme is carried out by the organisers of 20minmax, supported by a jury. The festival screenings will take place at Audi Repertory Cinema, Museum of Concrete Art and Stadttheater Ingolstadt.

The 5th Annual Fine Arts Film Festival will be held on May 10-12, 2018. We're opening up with the VR Section of the Festival at Creative Technology Center on May 10, then moving to the historic Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center Theatre on May 11-12, which is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary in 2018.

Il Center for Common Memory for Democracy and Peace (CMCDP), un'associazione nazionale per i diritti umani di portata internazionale, apre il bando per le iscrizioni di film per la 15a edizione del Festival Internazionale del Cinema e della Memoria Comune (FICMEC), che si terrà nella città di Nador dal 30 ottobre al 4 novembre 2026.
Il CMCDP opera nei seguenti campi d'azione:
Problemi relativi alla memoria e alla memoria condivisa come conoscenza e competenza;
Diffusione di una cultura di pace, convivenza e democrazia;
La lotta contro tutte le forme di estremismo;
Difesa dei diritti umani e contributo alla diffusione della sua cultura;
Questioni di identità e diversità linguistica e culturale;
Consolidamento e sviluppo dei valori di solidarietà e dialogo costruttivo tra popoli e nazioni;
Sostegno a tutte le generazioni di diritti umani.
Ogni anno, FICMEC propone una riflessione tematica legata alla memoria. In questa edizione, il tema centrale sarà «Memoria del futuro», ispirato alle parole di Victor Hugo: «Il futuro è una porta, il passato è la chiave» e all'idea di Roman Krznaric che il futuro non è un posto in cui andremo, ma un posto che stiamo creando.
La memoria non è un esercizio di nostalgia né uno sguardo ancorato al passato. È una responsabilità collettiva. Preservare, spiegare e trasmettere gli episodi storici, specialmente quelli più dolorosi, è dovere sia delle istituzioni che della società nel suo insieme: famiglie, associazioni, difensori dei diritti umani, artisti ed educatori. Comprendere il passato è un atto consapevole di preparazione per il futuro.
«Memory of the Future» propone un dialogo permanente tra ricordo e proiezione, tra giustizia e trasformazione sociale. Le lotte contro l'ingiustizia, i processi di verità e riconciliazione, la difesa della dignità umana e il consolidamento dei valori democratici costituiscono le basi di un domani più giusto. Ricordare non significa perpetuare il risentimento, ma generare consapevolezza, prevenire il ripetersi di violazioni e rafforzare una cultura di pace.
Le nuove generazioni occupano un posto centrale in questa visione. Non sono semplicemente depositari di narrazioni ereditate, ma agenti attivi in grado di reinterpretare, mettere in discussione e proiettare la memoria verso il futuro. La trasmissione intergenerazionale, il pensiero critico contro la manipolazione storica e l'impegno per i diritti umani sono elementi essenziali di questa costruzione.
Nella sfera artistica e culturale, il cinema, che si tratti di documentario o di finzione, diventa un veicolo privilegiato per rendere visibili i ricordi silenziati, denunciare le ingiustizie, aprire spazi di dialogo e contribuire alla trasformazione sociale.
Condizioni tematiche di partecipazione:
Lungometraggi e cortometraggi (fiction, animazione): tema aperto.
Documentari: devono essere specificamente allineati al tema della nota concettuale «Memoria del futuro», affrontando le questioni relative alla memoria, ai diritti umani, alla giustizia, alla trasmissione intergenerazionale, alla riconciliazione, all'identità o alla costruzione democratica da una prospettiva riflessiva e proattiva.
I registi di tutte le nazionalità sono invitati a iscriversi a opere che contribuiscano a pensare al futuro attraverso la consapevolezza storica, promuovendo i valori di giustizia, pace, uguaglianza, convivenza e il ruolo dei giovani in questo processo.
Le iscrizioni ai film sono accettate esclusivamente attraverso le piattaforme ufficiali di registrazione del festival.
Attraverso questo invito, il CMCDP e la FICMEC riaffermano il loro impegno per una memoria attiva, etica e trasformativa, convinti che solo coloro che si assumono la responsabilità del passato possano contribuire a costruire un futuro più umano e democratico.

NOFI is a multi stage International Festival of New and Original Films. It was founded by the Center of American New Cinema and Arts (CANCA). The preliminary stages take place in Russia, Sweden and Armenia while the final stage is taking place in USA (Los Angeles). Each year an estimated 1000 independent and student films participate in the NOFI festivals from 60 countries. We have representatives in 10 countries including USA, Russia, Sweden, Armenia, Belarus, UK,Belgium, Holland, Arab Emirates and Philippines.
The goal of the NOFI festivals is to find and invite talented film directors to NOFI film studying and producing programs for shooting their films with the help of our sponsors and grants.
