The RTVE ABYCINE Talent Award for Best Short Film Project is an initiative by RTVE and the Abycine Foundation to support the production of fiction short films. The prize is €15,000 (VAT included), dedicated to producing the winning film, supervised by RTVE.
Eligible participants are Spanish registered production companies with fiction projects up to 20 minutes long. Projects related to Castilla-La Mancha are especially valued. Each company may submit up to two projects, with a €12 entry fee per project.
The submission deadline is July 30, 2025. Projects must be sent as a single PDF including script, synopsis, director’s statement, shooting plan, budget, financing plan, and additional documents.
Up to 5 projects will be selected to pitch at Abycine Lanza (October 21-24, 2025). The short film will premiere at the 2026 Abycine Festival and be broadcast on RTVE Play. RTVE holds exclusive rights for one year and perpetual broadcast rights.

ABYCINE LAUNCHES – AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
The Meet Them! program is an initiative by the Industry Department of the San Sebastián International Film Festival, aimed at bringing together audiovisual professionals from various regions. Its goal is to provide direct access to the festival, expand networking opportunities, and promote collaboration on film projects. Producers, directors, and other professionals with projects in development, pre-production, or production are selected, primarily feature films and documentaries with international co-production potential. The call is launched through local or national entities, which manage registration and participant selection. Selected participants join networking activities, presentations, and meetings during the festival. Applications typically require submitting a project technical sheet, dossier, CV, and motivation letter by the established deadline. It is a unique opportunity to connect with the global film industry and boost project visibility and funding.

SSIFF - Meet Them!
The UNIFEST Film 2025 call for entries includes a “Best Short Film Script” category for writers from Mexico and the United States. Any genre or theme is accepted, as long as the script is original, unpublished, and intended for a short film. Submissions are open from January 31 to July 31, 2025 via FilmFreeway. The prize consists of two days of professional filming equipment rental (4K camera, lenses, lights, sound) and one free day in a studio, to support the winning project’s production. Results will be announced between August 28 and 31, 2025. You must attach the required documents (ID, synopsis, rights registration) and follow the festival’s social media. UNIFEST Film – Best Short Film Screenplay
The INCAA opened the 2025 Contest for finished audiovisual fiction and/or animation scripts, including feature films and series. Fifteen film scripts will be awarded US$10,000 each, and three series scripts US$15,000 each. Participants must be Argentine or foreign residents in Argentina, over 18 years old. Scripts must be original, unpublished, and cannot have started filming or won previous INCAA awards. Registration is online until July 31, 2025. The jury has up to 90 days to announce results, which will be published on INCAA’s website. This call aims to promote original audiovisual creation with professional quality and is a great opportunity for screenwriters to boost their careers in Argentina.

Concurso de Guion Audiovisual – INCAA
The Audiovisual Laboratory: Industry in Focus call is aimed at creative duos (director and producer) who identify as women, trans, or non-binary in Argentina. They seek feature film or series projects in development, either fiction or documentary. Projects must be original and have one or two previous works premiered or exhibited.
Applications are open until July 31, 2025. Eight projects will be selected to participate in virtual mentoring from August to October. The process concludes with a final pitch event in Buenos Aires, with travel and accommodation covered for those outside the AMBA area.
The two winning projects will receive financial support of 10 million Argentine pesos to advance their development. The call aims to promote diversity, inclusion, and professionalization in Argentina’s audiovisual industry, fostering gender equity and new voices.

Audiovisual Laboratory: Industry in Focus
