The festival has been held for over twenty years in the Russian Far East.
"Amur Autumn" is one of the major cultural events in the region.
The festival features two film competitions and one theatre competition.
The two film competitions are:
– Feature-length fiction
– Short fiction
Filmmakers present their works at the festival whenever possible.
Each competition is judged by an international professional jury.
Screenings take place in a cinema, and the jury watches the films in the theater.
To participate in the festival, the film must have Russian premiere status.
The festival prize is the Amur Crane.
The Grand Prix in both competitions also includes a monetary award.
Each year, the festival receives over 1,000 submissions.
In accordance with Russian legislation, films on LGBT themes cannot be screened in the Russian Federation.
In 2024, the Indian film The Unyielding Girl won the top prize.
Other winners included films from Russia, Chile, China, Turkey, France, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Switzerland.
A total of 37 films from 21 countries participated in the competition programs.
