TERMS AND CONDITIONS


Objective and orientation of the sample:
To offer our children the possibility of encountering audiovisual arts works of diverse Latin American imaginaries and narratives.

Theme of the contest:
"Identity and Cultural Diversity".
We understand identity as a process of change and constant search, which nurtures cultural diversity and questions traditional icons. And we understand cinema as a reflection of peoples, their cultures and identities.

We understand cultural diversity as a force that promotes community empathy and enriches people's daily lives.

General conditions for participation:
Audiovisual works by filmmakers with verifiable residence in Latin America are eligible to participate in this competition.

Accepted genres: fiction, animation, documentary, experimental (video art, video dance, essay, etc.).
Formats: Video in .MOV or .MP4 file, 1920x1080p or 1280x720p, 25fps or 30fps, Codec H264 or DCP. (Presentation in other formats or video systems requires the prior and express authorization of the Festival organization).

Duration: Works of between 5 min to 80 min.

Language: Spoken in Spanish or subtitled in Spanish.

Audiovisual works must have been completed between June 2010 and June 2025.


4. deadline and forms of registration:
Those interested must register from April 28, 2025 to June 30, 2025, inclusive; online through the link at www.oberaencortos.ar, where the audiovisual work can be uploaded. The submission of the material implies acceptance of the rules.


7. Preselection:
The pre-selection will be in charge of a pre-selection jury appointed by the General Coordination of the "Oberá en Cortos" Festival.

Notification of classification will be made via e-mail and telephone to each of the pre-selected candidates, and will be published on the Festival's website.

8. Shipment of materials:
The sending of the material in high quality must be informed via e-mail tooberaencortos.audiovisual@gmail.com communicating the date of sending and the means used so that the film arrives safely and on time to the Festival before September 1st.

Screening copies arriving at a later date will be excluded from the exhibition.

9. Press and dissemination:
Short-listed participants will be asked to send press materials and photos to be released to the press and invited guests.

In order to promote the program and each of the selected films, the pre-selected participant will authorize the Festival Oberá en Cortos y Largos to use photos and fragments of the short films of up to 60 seconds.

10. Participation of filmmakers:
Questions concerning the invitation of guests, the conditions of their stay and accreditation at the festival will be decided by the General Coordination of the Festival.

The directors of the pre-selected works may be invited to the city of Oberá, Misiones, to accompany and promote their works. Accommodation, food and meals will be covered by the Festival, according to budget availability. Any other expenses incurred by the accredited person are strictly at his/her own expense.

The conditions of the invitation will be notified by e-mail and will only cover one member for each work. This member must appear in the technical specifications and credits of the short film, as part of the technical or artistic team.



12. Copyright and Creative Commons license:
The right of authorship is non-transferable, all the material (texts, photos, documents and short films) presented in the call for entries belong to their authors, who will be mentioned in case of exhibition or diffusion for cultural and/or educational non-profit purposes within the framework of activities and audiovisual spaces where "Oberá en Cortos y Largos" participates as organizer or guest.

The festival will use the license of non-commercial recognition without derivative work. This license allows third parties to circulate your short film on a non-profit basis, respecting the copyright and the integrity of the work. More information at: http://creativecommons.org/

The materials submitted to the festival for participation and exhibition are the property of their authors; if any participant violates the copyright, he/she will be disqualified.


15. Compliance Agreement:
The registration authorizes the Festival to exhibit, disseminate, publish and archive, for cultural and/or educational non-profit purposes, their audiovisual work in exhibitions and exhibition spaces organized or participated in by the Festival.

By registering your work, you agree and accept the terms and conditions of the "Oberá en Cortos por la Identidad y Diversidad Cultural" Contest.

The organization reserves the right to suspend or modify the rules and conditions of the competition.
