The Coordinating Committee of "FESOHCURT – Nules Short Film Festival," by unanimous agreement taken at the meeting held on 02-09-2024, announces the competition for the seventh edition and establishes the RULES that will govern it:

1. The 7th edition of the festival will take place in the town of Nules on November 8 and 9, 2024, at the Alcázar Theater. In addition, there will be a presentation of the festival in the municipality of Xilxes on September 29, 2024. It is a generalist and competitive festival.

2. FESOHCURT aims to promote the use of Valencian through the creation of short films; therefore, the language of at least 50% of the selected short films must be Valencian (in any of its dialectal variants). Nonetheless, short films in other languages may also participate.

3. Any person or legal entity can participate, individually or collectively, without age limit, with short films of any genre. Each director, producer, and/or filmmaker may submit a maximum of two works. The productions must have been made after January 1, 2023.

4. The theme and genre of the productions are open; priority will be given to quality and the creation of trends as a primary objective.

5. Short films must be (although not limited to) fiction, animation, and/or documentary. They must have a maximum duration of 15 minutes. Exceptionally, the organizing committee may accept longer works if deemed appropriate.

6. The registration process can be done through the Festhome platform: https://festhome.com/festival/fesohcurt

7. Registration is free. The registration and submission period begins on September 21, 2024, and ends on October 27, 2024. Works submitted with a postmark date later than this will not be accepted.

8. Advertising works or those that use more than 10% of non-original material will not be accepted. Likewise, works that do not have the necessary technical quality for proper visualization will not be admitted.

9. The Coordinating Committee will make a preliminary selection of the submitted works. This decision will be communicated to the responsible person of each selected production. The OFFICIAL SELECTION will be made public on social media starting from November 1, 2024.
The persons responsible for the selected productions must send an email to fesohcurt@gmail.com with the production title in the subject line, attaching two or more frames from the film that can be used as promotional material for the festival, along with a brief technical sheet with the production team's details. They must also include a downloadable link with the screening copy in .mp4 (H264) format with a minimum HD quality (1920x1080).

10. Participants under 18 years of age must have authorization from their legal guardians.

11. The authors must ensure that the content of their work does not infringe intellectual property rights or other third-party rights and will exonerate the Coordinating Committee from any legal liability.

12. The selected productions will be part of the OFFICIAL SECTION and will be publicly screened during the Festival days, understanding that their authors or producers authorize the screening. The organization also reserves the right to use the productions for promotional purposes and/or to be screened in future promotional videos and events of the festival. The selected short films will receive €30 as a selection fee. This amount will be subject to the corresponding tax deductions.

13. A Jury appointed by the Coordinating Committee and composed of at least 4 individuals will decide the prizes of the OFFICIAL SECTION. The Jury will consist of professionals of recognized prestige in the audiovisual communication and cultural sectors.

14. Works shot in the Province of Castellón will also be eligible for selection in the category "Best Short Film from the Castellón Region" and, consequently, may compete for the prize established for this category.

15. Works shot entirely or partially in Nules, Mascarell, or Nules Beaches will also be eligible for selection in the category "Best Short Film Shot in Nules" and may compete for the prize established for this category.

16. Works shot in languages other than Valencian (in any of its dialectal forms) may compete for the "Best Short Film in Other languages" award.

17. All works will be eligible for the audience vote award.

18. Additionally, there will be an award for the best performance in Valencian.

19. Finally, technical awards will be given for best sound and best photography. To be eligible for these awards, the respective technicians must have been born or reside in the Valencian Community.

20. Eight awards, sponsored by the Nules Town Council, are established:

- Best short film: trophy and €700.

- Best short film in other languages: trophy and €400.

- Best short film by audience vote: trophy and €300.

- Best short film from the Castellón region: trophy and €300.

- Best short film shot in Nules: trophy and €200.

- Best performance in Valencian: trophy and €100.

- Best sound by a Valencian technician: trophy and €100.

- Best photography by a Valencian technician: trophy and €100.

21. The Jury has the power to declare the prize or prizes void, as it sees fit, as well as to grant a special mention to highlight technical and artistic aspects of any film in competition. Its decisions will be final.

22. Prize payments will be subject to the corresponding tax deductions.

23. Production companies accept that, in the event of winning any of the awarded prizes, they may include a written reference to the award at the beginning of the copies of the film they distribute for commercial screening and/or in audiovisual contests, as well as in printed promotional material. The Coordinating Committee will provide the winners with the image of the award to include.

24. The closing ceremony and the awards ceremony for all categories will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Alcázar Theater in Nules.

25. Awardees are required to attend the ceremony to collect their prize, except for a justified exceptional reason (such as distance), in which case they must send a video to be projected during the award ceremony. If they do not attend and do not justify their absence, the prize will be awarded to the second-best short film in the category.

26. Participation in this Festival implies the transfer of rights to disseminate the submitted images within the Festival's scope. These will be archived by the organization if deemed appropriate and mutually agreed with the owners of the work. If the selected work is registered with SGAE or another rights management entity, the corresponding certification must be presented to the Festival. Without this certification, the Festival will not assume any obligations.

27. Any issue that arises during the festival, not covered by these RULES, will be decided by the Coordinating Committee. Participation in the festival implies acceptance of these RULES.
