Primeiro Plano 2024 – Juiz de Fora e Mercocidades Film Festival, a realization of Luzes da Cidade – Grupo de Cinéfilos y Productores Culturales, is a South American film festival directed exclusively for directors who are presenting their first work and a regional event for produced films in the area of ​​Mata Mineira, which will tend to be placed in the city of Juiz de Fora, Brazil, in October 2024. Registration Rules for the Mercocidades Competitive Exhibition


– Event: Primero Plano 2024 – Juiz de Fora and Mercocidades Film Festival, a realization of Luzes da Cidade – Grupo de Cinéfilos y Producers Culturales, is a South American film festival aimed exclusively at directors who are presenting their first work and a regional event for films produced in the Mata Mineira area, which will take place in the city of Juiz de Fora in October 2024. Short registrations close on June 14, 2024.


- Registration:

2.1- You can register for the Mercocidades Competitive Exhibition (CORTOS SUDAMERICANOS): the first short film on film or digital made by filmmakers from countries in South America (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador), whose work is presented in its first film, which has been completed since 2023, in digital format, with a maximum duration of 25 minutes.

2.2- The first film is considered to be the one whose director has not carried out previous audiovisual work shown at Festivals, Cinema Shows, Cine Clubs, television circuits and similar, national and international.

2.3- Entries for shorts that have been produced to present, publicize and/or promote institutions and companies will not be accepted, not those made exclusively for television.

2.3.1- Registrations must be made via the website: www. Primeiroplano.art.br. In the form, there is an element to include the link to the work, as well as an option to enter the password (if it corresponds).

2.3.2- If you choose to send it on DVD, it must be delivered by post to the address below until June 14, 2024.

2.4- To register a short, the following steps must be followed by the director, producer and/or responsible:

2.4.1- Complete the Registration Form online;

2.4.2- Send the link to the work and inform your password

2.4.3- Short texts in Spanish must be sent with subtitles in English or Portuguese;

2.4.4- In case of presentation on DVD, send to the following address:

Selection:

3.1- From the respective link or copy on DVD, the registered productions will be selected by a team nominated by the Festival Organization to participate in the Competitive Shows.

3.2- After the communication of the selection by the Festival Organisation, the directors/producers of the chosen films must send the available amount to download the film in an exhibition format, different from that sent to the selection, and the registration form registration signed by email or mail to the directions indicated in item 2.4, until October 7, 2024.

3.3- In the event that the copies do not reach the stipulated directions within the foreseen deadlines, the films will be eliminated from the competitive screenings, as the exhibition will only be in the format chosen on the registration form.

3.4- Selected cuts in Spanish must send subtitles in Portuguese (SRT) or the list of dialogues in Spanish for translation.

Awards:

4.1- A jury formed by a qualified team and nominated by the Festival Organization, will award the short entries from the Competitive Mercocities Museum in the following categories: Best Film; Direction; Guión; Photography Direction; Sound Design; Montage; Art Direction; Soundtrack; Actor; Actress; Primer Plano and Better Cut by public vote.

Reproduction and author rights: the director/producer authorizes the exhibition of the audiovisual work at the Festival and is responsible for the unauthorized use of images, sounds or music from third parties in his works. All and any type of recording due to copyright issues will fall exclusively on the director/producer of the registered work. The Festival can also use up to 30 seconds of the selected works to publicize the Festival on TV, radio, web stations or any other means of communication.

Final provisions: any organization – public or private – any person who wishes to grant awards to films competently, will be authorized to do so in accordance with its own regulations with the prior consent of the Festival Organization and will be able to send the respective notification to the October 1, 2024. Director of the first work will be considered to be one who has never exhibited an audiovisual work prior to the one presented in Competitive Festivals and Exhibitions. film shows held in Brazil and/or abroad. Once the Festival has ended, in case there is any expense in returning copies to their original directions, these will be the responsibility of the Organization of the same. Those cases not provided for in this Regulation will be decided by the Festival Organization. The act of registration for the Primero Plano Competitive Shows 2024 – Juiz de Fora and Mercocidades Film Festival, implies total and unrestricted acceptance, by the competent director/producer, of all articles of this Regulation.
