A space where the encounter with the diverse is welcome, since it enables the crisis and reflection on the hegemonic.

a. “Cacique Oberá Mejor Cortometraje” Statuette for the International Contest: the prize will be granted to the Director and the Producer of the Best International Short Film.

b. The amounts will be informed in a timely manner at the launch of the festival.

c. The prize to the Best EntreFornteras Short Film, will be granted to the Director and Producer of the Short Film.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS INTERNATIONAL CONTEST

1. Goals and Festival Mission:

-To promote the diffusion of Short Films that embody the identities of The People, the diversity of the cultures, languages and narratives trough film and audiovisual arts.

-To develop and link alternative networks of exhibition, learning, broadcasting, production, debate and entertainment.

2. Contest theme: “Identity and Cultural Diversity”

The jury will especially assess the relation amidst the works submitted and the proposed, with the format and genre to the discretion of the authors.From the Festival, we understand the Identity as a constant process of change, discovery and breakthrough; the engine of cultural diversity, far different from traditional icons and clichés.

3. General Terms:

a) Approved genres:fiction, animation, documentary, experimental (video art, videodance, video essay, etc.)

b) Format:The following video files are accepted:.MOV or.MP4, 1920x1080 or 1280x720. Frames per second: 23.976, 24, 25 o 30. Códecs: H264 (MPEG4) or DCP (mpeg2000). Mbps: between 10 and 20. Submitting Content in other formats, will require previous and explicit authorization from the Festival).

c) Maximum duration: 20 minutes(credits included)

d) language: All Shortfilms not in Spanish, must be subtitled to this language.

e)To participate, all work must have finished production between June 2021 and June 2023.

4. deadline:

All interested in participating must register in the Contest, submitting their work and information trough festhome.com web platform, between the dates of June 1, 2023 and August 1, 2023. The requirements can be found in the official website of the Festival www.oberaencortos.ar

5.Participation agreement and Exclusivity:

Audiovisual works from the Entre Fronteras region (Nea –Argentina: Misiones, Corrientes, Chaco, Formosa and Entre Ríos-, Uruguay and Paraguay, and southern Brazil –States of Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul), that are submitted to this contest may not compete in the University Contest.

6. Authorization:

By submitting your work to the Contest, you are authorizing “Oberá en Cortos Film Festival” to exhibit, broadcast, uploadonline and store your Shor Film, with no-profit, cultural and educational purposes. After 2 years of competing, the Short Films will be uploaded online, without download option enabled. Every time the work is exhibited, published or broadcasted, the author’s contact information will be displayed

7. Selection:

a)10 Short Films will be selected.

b) A Jury –appointed by the Coordination of the Festival-will be in charge of the selecction.

c) The announcement of the selected Shor Films will be made through e-mail or phone to each one of the Contestants, and it will be published in the Festival official website www.oberaencortos.com

8. Content Submission:

a)“Oberá en Cortos” Film Festival will use the therm “Content” to designate any video, film, media, capture, graphic, publicity photo or other supported material submitted.

b) The Content must be submitted in the Highest Quality available, trough FESTHOME, according to the criteriain Item 3-b.

c) All Short Films submitted after the deadline –Oct 01, 2023- will be disqualified.

d) Any slanderous, defamatory, racially/culturally/sexually offensive or discriminatory content will not be accepted.

e) The Festival will not be held accountable for any damaged, lost, misdirected, unusable or unredeable content.

9. Press and promotion:

a) All selected contestants must submit press material and photos for promoting their work among Mass Media and Festival guests and atendants.

b) In order to announce the programming lineupand each one of the selected films, all selected contestants authorize the Festival to use the submmited photos and 15 second fragments of their Shortfilms.

10. Filmmaker participation:

a)According to the epidemiological situation at the moment of the Festival realization, the authors of the selected Short Films will be invited to Oberá City, Province of Misiones in Argentina to host and promote their work. The Festival will cover only lodging, food and travel expenses in bus or transfer withing the boards of Argentina. If the contestants are from outside the country, they must travel to the closes city in Argentina

b) Lodging and food conditions will be explicited in written format in the announcemente of the selection, and only for one of the members of the production team behind the Short Film. The selected individual must appear in the submittion form, and in the credits of the film as a part of the technic or artistic crew.

11. Jury:

a) The Jury in charge of the winners’ selection will be composed of three (3) personalities (within the Province, Country or International procedence), from the film, artistic and cultural field, chosen by the Festival Management.

b)The audience will cast votes through urnes or other voting system determinated by the Festival.

c)The decision of the Jury will be final.

d)The Jury will be selected and announced eventually.

e)The official record with the veredict of the Jury will be announced at the Official Closing Ceremony of the Festival.

12. Copyright and Creative Commons License:

a) All submitted Content(text, photos, documents, media and film)is copyrighted and non-transferable, and owned by their Authors. In case of exhibition or broadcasting of the films in non-profit activities or audiovisual event -with cultural and/or educational purposes-where the Festival participates as an organizer or guest; the Authors will be cited.

b) Filmmakers can select the Creative Commons option when submitting their work. This type of license will allow third party individual to broadcast the Short Fillm, always with non-profit purposes and honoring the intellectual property and integrity of the work. The Festival willabide to the Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives types of license. For more information, please go to http://creativecommons.org/

c) All Content submmited to the Festival for competing and broadcasting, must be of exclusive property of the Contestants, or with due authorization of the Author/s. If any of the Contestans breaks the copyrights laws or intellectual property principles, it will result in inmmediate disqualification.

13. Compliance Agreement:

a) By submmiting the Content, the Contestantsare agreeing to comply with the Terms and Conditions of the “Oberá en Cortos por la Identidad y Diversidad Cultural”Contest.

b)The organization reserves the right to suspend or modify the Terms and Conditions at discretion. If this happens, the contestants will be notified.

c)Every Contestant is the sole responsible of the Content submmited, and of any liability thay may occur to said Content.
