The L'Hospitalet Short Film Festival is an outstanding cultural event in the city of Hospitalet, which offers a chance to promote the talent of young filmmakers committed to human rights, cooperation and the culture of peace.

Prêmios em dinheiro: 2,100€

1st Prize ENVIRONMENTAL IDEAS: €1000 in cash, to encourage the participation of short films that include the theme of SDG 12, responsible and sustainable production and consumption + award.

2nd GLOBAL Prize: €700 in cash + award.

3rd GLOBAL Prize: €400 + award.

The financial prizes will be subject to the corresponding tax withholdings.

The Organizing Committee of the FCLH, by unanimous agreement taken at the meeting held on 26/05/2024, announces the competition for the 2024 edition and establishes the RULES that shall govern.

1 - Original short films filmed as of January 2022, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, including credits, may be submitted to the selection process. The content can be documentary or fiction.

The age of the participants at the date of completion of their works must be 35 years old or younger.

The works submitted must promote one or more of the following themes: The defense of Human Rights, cooperation, the culture of peace or the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year, the organizing committee of the FCLH has included an important novelty: To encourage the inclusion of the SDGs, it has been decided that a specific award will be given for short films that include themes related to SDG 12 Responsible Production and Consumption.

2 - The deadline for entries is October 7, 2024 at 23:59.

3 - The piece will have to be released in a .mov or .mp4 video file with the following characteristics:

- H264 format. 1920x1080, 24lps, progressive.
- VBR. 32.00 Mbps, max 40.00 Mbps.
- ACC Audio 48.000Hz. Stereo.

4 - The works that are not in Catalan or Spanish must be subtitled in one of these two languages.


5 - The interested party with the acceptance of the inscription manifests and guarantees that:
a) That he/she is the author of the work.
b) That he/she has the authorization of all the persons who appear in the work, both of legal age and of the holders of parental authority of the minors who appear, necessary to participate in the GLOBAL and authorize its exhibition and diffusion in the terms provided in these rules, assuming any liability or claim that third parties may exercise against the organizers for the dissemination and exhibition of the work.


6 - With the acceptance of this inscription, the organizing entity is authorized to exhibit the works in its own events and related to the Festival, as well as in television projections with express authorization, without any profit motive and without any territorial or temporal limitation. The works received will not be returned and will become part of the entity's archive. The entity reserves the right to publish on social networks the winning works or, instead, a trailer of these. In the event that the publication of the entire short film is not authorized, it will be necessary to notify and submit a trailer of the work, which must be released before October 31 in order to receive the prize.
7 - The organization will determine if the works are in accordance with the rules, and then release them to the jury appointed to name the winners. The verdict will be final and some categories may be declared void.

8 - In order to obtain the award, the presence of the filmmaker or his/her accredited representative is required at the awards ceremony to be held on November 8, 2024 at 19h at the Filmax Gran Vía 2 Cinemas in Hospitalet.
