The 36th Message to Man International Festival of documentary, short fiction, animated, and experimental films will take place from 16 to 24 October 2026 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Over the years, the Festival has hosted distinguished figures of world cinema, including Werner Herzog, Ulrich Seidl, Claude Lanzmann, Isabelle Huppert, Fanny Ardant, Agnès Varda, Mira Nair, Paolo Sorrentino, Alan Berliner, Eric Roberts, Jonathan Rosenbaum, Abdellatif Kechiche, Udo Kier, and many others.

With its history spanning three decades of cinema development, Message to Man was founded in 1989 in Leningrad by filmmaker Mikhail Litvyakov, who now serves as the Honorary President of the Festival.

Introduction

The 24th MonFilmFest, organized by Immagina a.c. APS, returns from July 2 to July 11, 2026, in Mombello Monferrato (Turin) and in "everywhere" mode. The festival aims to tell stories through cinema, giving space to new voices and talents. The "Corto di sera" Festival takes place in August in Itala, in the province of Messina since 2012.

Participation to the Festival is free and open to all Italians and foreign authors, single filmmakers orcollectives/associations.

- The Festival is exclusively dedicated to short films that last less than 20minutes.

- Any genre will be accepted (documentary, fiction, classic and/or digital animation)

- All foreign works shot in any language which is not Italian must be subtitled in Italian . Non-subtitled foreign short films will not be selected.
