The festival is a unique transnational event held simultaneously in ten cities across five continents. The festival will take place from August 20 to September 20, 2026, and consists of three main segments: [1] shnit PLAYGROUNDS*—festival cities [2] shnit EXPANDED [3] shnit FINALE—awards ceremony.

All winners of the WORLDWIDE COMPETITION and INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION will be eligible for consideration for the 2027 Oscars® (via a cinematic release, in accordance with the rules of the 99th Academy Awards®).

BOSIFEST is the International Festival Of Documentary Film for and by persons with disabilities, the only one of this kind in the Southeast Europe, which will be organized this year for the seventeenth time in Serbia by the Hendi Center Koloseum. As in past sixteen years, this year on the big screen a great number of films will be screening both in competitive and non-competitive part. So far visitors of the BOSIFEST had an opportunity to watch 950 films that had life of the people with disabilities as their subject or were created by the disabled authors.
In addition to film screenings, BOSIFEST offers additional programs in the form of workshops, panel discussions and roundtables.
