FICSEM Festival, in the Mediterranean area.
For major reasons, and having been immersed in a situation in which we have all been affected, we have decided to adapt to the current situation, and give a new focus to our festival. Maintaining the enthusiasm and passion we feel for the artistic world.
Our festival is aimed at the dissemination and promotion of film authors related to topics of social and/or ecological value.
Because we believe in the power of art as a transformative medium, our contribution from this festival is to give visibility to projects that address environmental and social changes in which we are immersed. We are an international festival because we understand the world beyond barriers, and because we are moved by the need to get to know other cultures and share the best of ours, as it contributes to any improvement in any corner of the world.
The Mediterranean is the climate that surrounds us, and we feel identified with it. In terms of warmth, closeness and transparency. We are a festival that is starting strong, with a large number of committed artists who share our cause, and the desire to share.
And that is why we are not afraid to break the most classic festival patterns. So much so, that in the award for best actor and/or actress, the recognition of the award falls on their social and/or ecological work... And not only on their skills.
Despite having firm ideological foundations. We open ourselves to other artistic areas and initiatives.

II Edition of FILC-VILA 2027
International and Local Short Film Festival of Viladecavalls
On behalf of the La Cort dels Miracles Association, we are delighted to present the II Edition of the International and Local Short Film Festival of Viladecavalls (FILC-VILA 2027), which will take place on May 28 and 29, 2027.
We return with a renewed proposal designed to establish Viladecavalls as a vibrant meeting point for filmmakers, students, film lovers, and the general public. Our goal is to offer a showcase for a diverse range of perspectives from all over the world, while boosting audiovisual creation in our language and fostering artistic expression within the local educational environment.
For this second edition, FILC-VILA is structured into two main submission categories along with new opportunities for recognition:
Official Section: Open to productions from anywhere in the world, regardless of origin or language. All selected films will be screened in Catalan or subtitled in Catalan (a service provided by the organization for films that do not already have Catalan subtitles).
Commitment to the Catalan Language: Within the Official Section, we reinforce our support for national cinema by awarding a Best Short Film in Catalan Language Award (€200), which can be combined with the Festival's Best Short Film Award (€200).
School Section (CRP Vallès Occidental II): We are opening a special free category for educational centers in Terrassa, Viladecavalls, Matadepera, Ullastrell, Rellinars, and Vacarisses, aimed at promoting young talent and the use of audiovisual language in the classroom.
"La Mostra" (Out of Competition): We are incorporating a non-competitive parallel section to provide space and visibility for works that stand out for their high social, thematic, or cultural value.
The submission period will open on November 1 on the Festhome platform (and via web form for the School Section) and will close on March 15, 2027.
We invite you to be part of this new edition, share your stories, and celebrate short films together in Viladecavalls!

KURSAAL-AI, part of the Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián (KFFSS), is a festival for films and series that aims to showcase the artistic and cinematic talent of filmmakers using AI tools. The festival features a online VOD (streaming) format and includes an awards ceremony held as part of the AI Weekend Fest (AIWF).
KFFSS is a film festival governed by the principles and standards of the cinematic world—a crucial distinction, as many other AI-focused festivals do not originate from a background in cinema.
KFFSS values cinematic talent regardless of when or where it was created, because "creative, artistic, and cinematic talent—you either have it, or you don't."
The Festival is organized by the CinemArt Association of Pineda de Mar, it is an international festival with the aim of promoting a specific space for the discovery, screening and dissemination of short films.
The main thematic axis of the festival is that of comedy; however, the theme and genre of the productions is free. Quality and originality will be prioritized as the main objective, and that the production is unprecedented.
The San Isidro Young Film Festival is an initiative whose aim is to give visibility to independent short films created by young filmmakers. We are aware of how difficult it is to gain recognition in the film industry, as well as the frustration that this situation can generate. Therefore, the FCSI offers a platform for all young filmmakers in the province of Alicante to have the opportunity to present their projects to the public.

Following the success of its first three editions, we are now organizing the 4th edition of the Majadahonda International Social Film Festival (MISFE’27). The festival is founded on the belief that cinema can be a powerful tool for social transformation and that, by encouraging the circulation of high-quality, thought-provoking films, we can help educate and raise awareness within the community about important social issues.
MISFE’27 continues to establish itself as a showcase for filmmaking talent that addresses and brings attention to relevant social issues. We believe that films can serve as educational tools and as catalysts for dialogue around subjects that matter.
The festival also aims to contribute to the cultural development of Majadahonda and to broaden and enrich the town’s cultural programme. The diversity of films presented at MISFE enhances the cultural life of the community by exposing local audiences to different stories, perspectives and forms of artistic expression.
We believe cinema has a unique ability to move us emotionally and awaken empathy. The festival therefore gives us the opportunity to connect more deeply with stories that reflect the diversity of our experiences and inspire us to understand and appreciate the richness of the human condition.
Through the short films taking part in this fourth edition, we will explore and celebrate diversity in all its forms — cultural, social, racial and beyond. By bringing diverse narratives to the forefront, the festival seeks to promote inclusion and mutual understanding, building bridges between communities.
The selected films will not only entertain, but also inspire and provoke thought. Through stories of resilience, social awareness, activism and positive change, the festival will provide a space for sharing ideas and opening conversations.
For this fourth edition of MISFE, we are continuing our parallel School Cinema section. During the first three editions of the festival, the “Sonsoles San Román” Award was presented to the Best School Cinema Short Film. This year, we want to increase participation from primary and secondary schools, sixth-form colleges, vocational training institutions and specialist educational centres.
For the first time, MISFE will also introduce a Best Documentary category, as we believe documentary filmmaking is particularly closely connected to the festival’s social focus.
The IV SEA FILM FESTIVAL will be held from 19 to 25 April 2027 in the town of Marín.
The Cultural Association for a Sea Museum for Marín is the organizing entity of this festival. Since its creation, the Marin Sea Museum has had as one of its main objectives the recovery of the seafaring identity of the town of Marín, as well as the conservation and dissemination of the cultural heritage linked to the sea, maritime and seafaring culture, especially among the new generations. On the other hand, the Galician language is an indissoluble part of our culture. Language and the sea are two fundamental elements to understand and disseminate our identity. Therefore, the Sea Film Festival is fully within the objectives of the Marin Sea Museum.
The Cine do Mar Festival promotes the appreciation of the sea as an ecosystem and awareness of the importance of its protection and conservation, as well as the dignity of trades related to the sea and the recognition of people who have dedicated and dedicate their lives to work both at sea and on land directly or indirectly linked to the world of fishing and shellfishing.
The Cine do Mar Festival is an event that promotes creation in the Galician language and contributes to the promotion, dissemination and defense of the Galician language, encouraging the normalization of the use of Galician in cultural activities. Among its main objectives are to promote the use of the Galician language among the population, particularly among children and youth; as well as the promotion of artistic creation in the audiovisual field in the Galician language aimed at children and youth, age ranges where Galician has less use and prestige.
The Cultural Association for a Sea Museum for Marín is calling for the third edition of this festival.
