Put yourself in the shoes of a patient or a caregiver, and use photography or video to capture an emotion, a feeling, or a look that symbolizes what it means to live with a form of cancer that affects both the skin and one’s emotions: social isolation, anxiety, skin lesions, etc.

Cash Prizes: 3,500€

The Competition will award a total of €3,500 in prize money, distributed as follows:

Best Short Film
€2,000

Best Photograph
€1,000

Audience Award
€500

1. Purpose

Kyowa Kirin launches the call for entries through the website www.certament.com for the 2nd Short Film and Photography Competition, CertamenT, with the aim of awarding various prizes for audiovisual and photographic creations that seek to raise awareness about Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) and its consequences, including social isolation, anxiety, skin-related conditions, and more.

Put yourself in the shoes of a patient and/or caregiver, and through images recreate an emotion or feeling that, in some way, symbolizes what it means to live with an oncological disease that primarily affects the skin and emotions.

The main objective is to raise awareness, educate, and give visibility to the situation of people living with CTCL, while supporting the campaign that highlights the disease and its impact on the lives of patients and caregivers.

Additionally, the competition aims to encourage the use of cinematic language as a tool for awareness and to provide opportunities for creative talent, including screenwriters, directors, actors, photographers, and other artists.

Other objectives include promoting culture, creativity, and emerging cinematic and photographic art.

The competition is open to photographs and short films of any genre and subject matter, provided they relate to the experiences and challenges faced by cancer patients and seek to raise awareness about CTCL.

Creativity and symbolism in portraying and raising awareness of this disease will be highly valued.

The use of elements such as medication or medical treatments required by patients is not permitted.

2. Participant Requirements

The competition is open to short films of any nationality and in any language, provided they include Spanish subtitles.

Participants must be:

Individuals over 18 years of age.
Legally established entities that can document ownership of the rights to the submitted short films, including distributors, production companies, film schools, etc.

Healthcare professionals are not eligible to participate. A healthcare professional is defined as any member of the medical, dental, pharmaceutical, nursing, or podiatric professions, any other person legally recognized as such, or any individual who, in the course of their professional activities, may directly or indirectly prescribe, purchase, supply, dispense, administer, or influence the use of medicinal products for human use.

For the purposes of the competition, a representative of a finalist short film may include the director, producer, filmmaker, creator of the original idea, screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, lead actors, composer of the original score, or any other individual holding rights to the submitted work.

Any person involved in the organization of the competition is excluded from participation.

Only entries submitted correctly and within the established deadlines will be accepted.

Participants must hold all distribution and exhibition rights to the submitted work, including soundtrack rights and image rights of any individuals appearing in the work, releasing Kyowa Kirin from any liability in this regard.
