The Utebo International Film Festival was created with the goal of promoting film culture, creating connections between filmmakers and other audiovisual professions, and establishing the town of Utebo as an annual meeting point, both for them and for the local residents. A town of Cinema, a united community.
Cash Prizes: 3,300€
The 1st Edition of the International Festival "Utebo de Cine" will have the following categories and over €3000 in prizes:
- International Category – Torre de Utebo Award + €300
- National Category – Torre de Utebo Award + €300
- Aragonese Category – Torre de Utebo Award + €300
- Animation Category (Any nationality) – Torre de Utebo Award + €300
- AI Category (Any nationality) – Torre de Utebo Award + €300
- Best Documentary (Any nationality) – Torre de Utebo Award + €300
The following additional recognitions will be awarded:
- Audience Award – Torre de Utebo Award + €300
- Best Director, Trophy + €200
- Best Screenplay, Trophy + €200
- Best Performance, Trophy + €200
- Mention for the Defense of Human & Animal Values: Diploma + €200
- Best Soundtrack, Trophy + €200
INFORMATION AND OFFICIAL RULES 'UTEBO DE CINE”
I. PURPOSE
The Utebo International Film Festival was created with the goal of promoting film culture, creating connections between filmmakers and other audiovisual professions, and establishing the town of Utebo as an annual meeting point, both for them and for the local residents. A town of Cinema, a united community.
II. ORGANIZATION
It is organized by the Utebo City Council, through the production company “Destellos Films,” under the direction of Antonio Valdovín, and will take place during the week of November 16 to 22, 2026.
III. GENERAL CONDITIONS
The festival is open to short films in fiction, documentary, animation, experimental works, and we also include AI-made works. With a free theme, films of a tourist or advertising nature and TV series are excluded.
Each author may submit as many short films as they wish. Registration will be done online through the “Festhome” platform at www.festhome.com, filling out all required sections. The participant will bear the costs associated with this platform and the festival registration fee.
Works created after January 1, 2025 may be submitted. Films must be presented in their original language. Those whose original version is not in Spanish or English must be submitted with Spanish or English subtitles.
The maximum duration will not exceed 30 minutes, except for documentaries which may be up to 60 minutes.
For each category, there is a jury team, fully qualified, that will be in charge of selecting the works that will be part of each contest. The result of this selection will be communicated to the contact person indicated in the registration form.
IV. REGISTRATIONS
Any short film submitted must comply with the following rules:
· The registration deadline will be October 12, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
· Registration will be done online through the “Festhome” platform at www.festhome.com, filling out all required sections. The participant will cover any expenses from this platform and the festival registration fee.
- Until August 31: 10€
-From September 1 to September 30: 15€
- From October 1 to October 12: 20€
· On this platform, the video file must be uploaded with English subtitles embedded, in the case of works whose original version is not in Spanish.
V. SELECTED SHORT FILMS
- On October 26th, the selection of works will be announced: Through Festhome and later on the Festival's website.
- All selected works will be screened at the Miguel Fleta Cinema in Utebo, on the days corresponding to their categories.
- The organization may request the selected works in other formats for screening (if it considers that the previous quality may affect their projection).
- Participants authorize the Festival organization to use excerpts from the selected works for promotion in any media, with the aim of promoting the Festival.
Likewise, the Festival may use photos of the works and the directors in the press and other media, as well as for the creation of the Festival catalog.
- The Festival will not pay any amount to the authors or creators of the works selected for screening during the festival
dates.
- The selected short films will become part of the “Utebo de Cine” Festival archive, and private consultation of them is authorized for educational or research purposes.
- Participation in the Festival implies authorization to broadcast excerpts of the submitted works on Spanish television channels and online.
VI. JURY
- The juries for each category, fully
qualified to make their verdicts, will decide the awarding of prizes and trophies among all selected works.
- Their decision will be final, and the jury members commit to keeping their decisions confidential until after the official award ceremony and closing of the Festival.
VII. AWARDS

VIII. ABOUT THE AWARDS
None of the awards listed in the Categories can be given jointly, nor can they be left unawarded.
IX. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
- After the Utebo Film Festival, short films that have won awards or special mentions may be shown in cultural and educational programs, non-profit, with prior communication to the authors for their acceptance and presence.
- Participants are responsible for ensuring that the rights of third parties related to the production of the registered film are not violated.
- Registering for any of the Competitions implies acceptance of these Rules.
- The International Festival “Utebo de Cine” will resolve, at its unappealable discretion, any eventuality not specified in these Rules.
- These rules are issued in Spanish and English. In case of any difficulty in interpretation, the Spanish text will be the reference.

ANNEX I. ONLINE FESTIVAL
OFFICIAL ONLINE COMPETITION
The official competition will be screened both in-person and online.
The online sessions will take place on Festhome.tv (Festhome platform), which users can access during the Festival dates, from November 16 to 22. All films will be protected with Festhome platform's encryption system.
The filmmaker will have the right to restrict their online screening in any country outside of Spain they consider.
The filmmaker will have the right not to participate in the online section, for which they must send their express withdrawal from such participation in writing via the Festival email or website.

Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
