Founded in the 1970s as a showcase for young filmmakers in the GDR, Sehsüchte has established itself over the decades as an internationally important festival and has become an integral part of the Berlin and Brandenburg cultural landscape. The festival is organised and carried out by students of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. FirstCut is an annual international student film festival organized by FLAME University, Pune. Our aim is to provide a platform to young filmmakers from around the world and encourage them to explore the medium of film as an agent of change.

In its 2019 edition, the festival received entries from 40+ countries, and had received 622 submissions overall. Judging panels in the past have included the likes of Ms. Rasika Dugal, Mr. Jay Oza, Mr. Nitin Baid, Ms. Reema Sengupta, Mr. Anjum Rajaballi, and Mr. Sriram Raghavan.

FirstCut continues to strive towards not only a larger reach, but also a greater quality of filmmaking.

The FIRE!! Mostra is the first LGBT film festival in Spain: established in 1995 by Casal Lambda, in Barcelona, it addresses affective diversity in its broadest sense through a careful selection of feature films, documentaries and short films. A selection of art-house cinema and an educational approach are its main characteristics.
