The Central American Film Festival in Vienna has become a firmly rooted tradition, establishing itself as a key cultural event in the city.
Vienna, recognized as one of the world’s most important cultural hubs, provides an ideal and prestigious platform to showcase the increasingly innovative and notable productions emerging from the Central American region.
This year, the festival returns from November 17 to 22, 2025, with the hope of once again welcoming our loyal audience, who will have the opportunity to enjoy the latest and most outstanding works of Central American cinema.
The program includes the categories of Feature Film, Short Film, Documentary, and Animation, along with several non-competitive parallel sections, including: “Pioneers of Central American Cinema,” “Works in Progress,” “Guest Film,” “Bonus Films,” and “Latin American View,” the latter dedicated to works portraying contemporary life in Latin America. Le Festival du Cinéma d’Amérique centrale à Vienne est devenu une tradition solidement ancrée, s’imposant comme un événement culturel de référence dans la ville.

Much like with the digital technology that has swept independent film festivals throughout the world since the early 2000s, for many reasons the virtual theater is quickly becoming the first, best choice for festivals, and the new home of Independent film screening worldwide.
The virtual theater is the future of film festivals, as more and more festivals are now screening films online, and even the big festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival are moving to online screenings.
Festivals are making the leap to cyber screenings because of many reasons, including that it allows for so much more exposure for the films. It is expected that just like the extinction of the 35mm projectors that were replaced with digital, one day in the not too distant future all film festivals will screen almost exclusively online, with only a few live presentations, if any.
Unlike most other Film Festivals, ours is different because it offers a unique method of viewing films in an online film festival that is totally secure and safe for a filmmaker’s project, and even those that provide online festivals cannot duplicate the safety and security that our virtual theater offers.
Very different from other festivals streaming films online, films in this festival cannot be downloaded, the films HAVE NO EMBEDDING CODE and our HTML code if copied and pasted, the films will not play, therefore they CANNOT be placed on other websites.
The only time and place they can be viewed is in our festival. In short, we have gone to great lengths to set this system up to protect the safety and security of each filmmaker’s film always keeping the filmmaker in mind. Basically, it is just as secure as a brick and mortar theater screening, only much better.

The 2018 Directors Circle Festival Of Shorts has officially opened our call for entries and will accept submissions internationally of short length films in any and all genres including Narrative, Documentary, Horror, Experimental, Avant-garde, Animation, Religious/Spiritual, Gay/Lesbian and all genres of Music Videos for our 2018 festival.

We made the decision to screen films online because of two reasons, first we understand that filmmakers around the world pour not only all of their time and heart into their work but also most of their money. Because of financial and time constraints independent filmmakers most times find it difficult to attend the screenings of their film. Now not only can the filmmaker attend, but all of their friends and family members can as well. In addition, the number of attendees to the festival is literally limitless giving the filmmaker much more exposure for their work.
In addition, you hear so much about the environment and global warming it got us thinking. When you realize how much power is used during the film fest, electricity for the building, natural gas for heat and the gasoline the people use to get to the fest it left one hell of a carbon footprint. By doing the whole festival online it actually helps cut down on greenhouse gasses.

TFSFF is a short film festival established by the TriForce Creative Network in 2012 to showcase talent in contemporary film-making, helping emerging film-makers to develop skills and access opportunities to further their careers. With a focus on recognising and supporting diverse talent, the festival brings together film-makers with the movers and shakers in the industry, enabling emerging artists to break into the mainstream. 16 shortlisted films get the chance to be seen on the big screen, in front of key industry representatives, with the winning film-makers earning career placements with top production companies, as well as a cash prize for their next project. The vast expanse of the venue will be put to optimum use, with dedicated spaces for film screenings, master classes conducted by industry professionals; ‘Demo Zones’ with various manufacturers demonstrating relevant products used in filmmaking and ‘Experience Zones’ will afford hands-on experiences for participants; Art Exhibition is expected to be a dynamic showcase of murals and other artistic installations by artists from all over India.
Last but not the least, this year we have added a new category for short films and documentaries on social issues and causes. Our chosen social cause for 2015 is Mental Health Issues.
