Produced by the Municipality of Colonia Santa Teresa and the narrative journalism platform Angular; declared of Legislative Interest and Cultural Interest by the government of the Province of La Pampa, the V International Documentary Film Festival "PampaDocFest" will be held in person in the town from April 9-12, 2026.
This festival aims to stimulate and facilitate meetings between national and international film makers and to present non-fiction films. It also seeks to foster encounters between filmmakers, technicians, and those interested in this genre, creating a space for exchange and dialogue. It aims to provide a training space to contribute to the development of culture and the dissemination of documentary filmmaking, promoting a critical and reflective view of reality. The festival also aims to promote local and regional cultural development, providing opportunities for new generations of creators and fostering the growth of a community committed to art and culture.

AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS

The Jury may award, along with the official prizes with cash prizes, a special mention in each of the categories, without any cash prizes. Prizes may not be declared void, nor may those with cash prizes be awarded ex aequo.

• Awards for the three categories in competition: Sayén Statuette from the 4th edition + submission included + Diploma and official laurel PNG.

• Audience Award for Best Documentary (*)

• Awards: Retrospective and Angular "Respects": outstanding documentary filmmaker.

Special Mention for the Patagonian documentary, selected by the PampaDocFest Film Commission.

(*) The Audience Award awarded at PampaDocFest will be based on the public vote (the score will be the average of the votes cast) and with special participation from the Accredited Press. Both this and the Recognitions include a diploma and Laurels (PNG), but not financial compensation or a statuette.

1. INTRODUCTION

Produced by the Municipality of Colonia Santa Teresa and the narrative journalism platform Angular; declared of Legislative Interest and Cultural Interest by the government of the Province of La Pampa, the V International Documentary Film Festival "PampaDocFest" will be held in person in the town from April 9-12, 2026.

This festival aims to stimulate and facilitate meetings between national and international film makers and to present non-fiction films. It also seeks to foster encounters between filmmakers, technicians, and those interested in this genre, creating a space for exchange and dialogue. It aims to provide a training space to contribute to the development of culture and the dissemination of documentary filmmaking, promoting a critical and reflective view of reality. The festival also aims to promote local and regional cultural development, providing opportunities for new generations of creators and fostering the growth of a community committed to art and culture.


2. SELECTION PROCESS:

Registration and documentation

Film submissions are free and open to national and international feature and short films exclusively in the documentary genre.
To participate in the 5th Cnia Santa Teresa International Documentary Film Festival, registration and completion of the requested information is required before the deadline (Friday, December 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM) through the Festhome platform. Documentaries can also be submitted free of charge by sending the following information to:

Failure to complete the required information will result in the audiovisual submissions being excluded from the selection process.


Competitive Categories:

International Documentary Short Film

Short films must be no longer than 25 minutes.

Documentaries produced after January 1, 2021, that have all the necessary rights for screening at both the Festival and the PampaDocPlay platform will be accepted. Participants must guarantee that the submitted works do not infringe the rights of third parties and that they are duly authorized for public dissemination.


International Documentary Feature Film

Feature films must be no longer than 25 minutes.

Documentaries produced after January 1, 2021, that have all the necessary rights for screening at both the Festival and the PampaDocPlay platform will be accepted. Participants must guarantee that the submitted works do not infringe the rights of third parties and that they are duly authorized for public dissemination.


Short Documentary Film on "Rurality"

Documentaries that portray aspects of rural life (films shot outside of urban settings will be considered in this category). The running time may not exceed 25 minutes. Documentaries produced after January 1, 2021, that have all the necessary rights for screening at the Festival will be accepted.


Submitting an audiovisual film to the competition implies full acceptance and compliance with these Participation Rules and any annexes. Participants must guarantee that the submitted works do not infringe the rights of third parties and that they are duly authorized for public distribution.

All films not in Spanish must have Spanish subtitles.


3. JURIES
The Festival Film Commission will recommend to the Jury the films that, in their opinion, should be selected for this year's Festival.

The Jury's decisions will be final and do not require justification.

Individuals with interests in the production, distribution, or any other type of exploitation or participation in the audiovisual works selected for the competition may not be members of the Jury.

The Jury may award a maximum of one prize to a single audiovisual work and may award special mentions along with the official prizes. prizes in all categories may not be declared void, nor may those that carry a monetary award be awarded ex aequo.
The Jury's work will be carried out in collaboration with PampaDocFest.

5. OBLIGATIONS OF THE AWARD-WINNING AUDIOVISUALS
The production companies and/or those responsible for the submitted film must send the Festival high-quality copies of the award-winning audiovisuals or screening passes. They would be appreciated if they include the reference to the award received (logo/laurels).


6. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SELECTED AUDIOVISUALS
Once the Festival has made and communicated the selection of an audiovisual, and once its participation has been confirmed by the director, producer, or production/distribution company that submitted it, it cannot be withdrawn.

The awards ceremony will be held in the town of Cnia, Santa Teresa. We hope to see the filmmakers in attendance, but the Organization will not fund travel. It will provide lodging and lunch for the duration of the Festival.


7. PROGRAMMING, online PLATFORM "PAMPADOCPLAY", AND EXHIBITION RIGHTS

During the festival, the organizers reserve the right to screen the selected audiovisuals in at least one public session. In this regard, the producers grant the rights for public screening during the Festival at no cost to the Festival and are exempt from paying screening fees.


The organizers reserve the right to add a copy of the winning audiovisuals to the Festival archive for non-profit cultural uses.


Likewise, the documentaries in the Official Selection will be included for viewing—under a "private" mode—through the digital platform "PampaDocPlay" by Angular (the Festival's organizing platform) for a period of three months, and under the "Paid Pass" mode (the funds from which will be used to cover the costs of the Festival). They are exempt from paying fees.
Once this period is over, the film's producer or director may decide to remain on the PampaDocPlay platform, either collaboratively or through on-demand payment. This will be resolved later and directly between the parties involved.


8. VERSIONS & subtitleS
All screening copies of the audiovisual works selected in the different Festival sections must be presented in their original language. Those whose original language is not Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.



9. SUBMISSIONS & SCREENING FORMATS
The distribution company and/or representative who submitted the selected film undertakes to deliver their work in a timely manner and certify the proper functioning of the copy (audio/video synchronization, color, etc.), which will be received in digital format.

Films not submitted by the assigned deadline will be eliminated.
The Festival reserves the right to refuse copies that, after the necessary technical checks, are deemed unsuitable for screening. A technical report must be provided to the film's representatives and a new copy must be requested. The festival will not accept physical copies submitted.


10. CATALOG AND DOCUMENTATION
The documentation and materials requested by the festival for the official catalog, program guide, and website (synopsis, biographies, artistic and technical information, photographs of the director and the film, trailers, and other audiovisual materials) will be taken from the online registration form for selected audiovisual works, which must be completed before the dates indicated in point 2.

If additional materials are needed, the Festival will request them to be delivered on specified dates.


11. PRESS AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
The Festival's Press Department will contact the director, producer, and/or the production and/or distribution companies of the selected audiovisual works, if required, in order to supervise and coordinate the materials included in the selection form, which will be accessible to accredited media and press. By accepting their participation, the production and/or distribution companies of the selected feature films, short films, and documentaries authorize the use of one or more brief excerpts from their titles for dissemination as informational material in any media or on social networks.


12. ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS
These participation rules may be supplemented or modified by the Festival Management with any additional annexes it deems appropriate, prior to the start date of the Cnia International Documentary Film Festival, Santa Teresa, and after notifying the interested parties.

The interpretation of these rules will be the exclusive responsibility of the Festival Management.
