A short film festival that will take you by surprise. Cross the green carpet... Win the Brame du Cerf! - Submit your short film of 15 minutes maximum. The theme "Odyssey", propose fictions, documentaries, animations, the subject of which provides a look at all forms of initiatives and actions that everyone, as a citizen, or organization can undertake to contribute to make our societies more sustainable, in terms of the environment and also living together.

The Chevreuse Valley Film Festival is a short film competition organized by the ALC. The 2026 theme of films to be presented at the FFVC is “ODYSSEY”.

A selection of around 20 films will be publicly broadcast during a screening at the FFVC on October 17, 2026. The finalists will be able to win one of the following prizes: Screenplay Prize, Directing Prize, Animation Prize, Female Actor Prize, Best Actor Prize, Male Interpretation, Audience Prize, Jury Prize (“Brâme du Cerf”), Youth Prize.

ARTICLE 5: PRIZE AND DESIGNATION OF WINNERS

Eight (8) prizes will be awarded: Screenplay Prize, Directing Prize, Best Female Performance, Best Male Performance, Youth Prize, Animation Film Prize, Jury Prize, and Public Prize ("Brame du Cerf"). A participant cannot win more than two Prizes.

By the mere fact of their participation, participants authorize the Organizer to broadcast their videos within the framework of the promotion of this Festival. The winners selected for the prizes awarded will be revealed during the Awards Day organized on 17/10/2026.

5.1 THE SELECTION OF FINALISTS

A selection of approximately 20 films will be broadcast publicly during a screening on October 17, 2026. This selection will be made by a committee composed of several staff members of the Organizer and professionals from the audiovisual sector. This list will be revealed publicly at the time of the announcement of the selection on the website.

The finalist participants authorize, free of charge, the broadcast of all or part of their video by the partners of the event for a duration of 12 months from the date of the announcement of the winners.

5.2 JURY PRIZE

The full composition of this jury will be discovered on the Website.

The pre-selection of videos will be presented to the jury, as a preamble to the deliberations, selected by the selection committee according to artistic and technical criteria, the selection of the Organizer being sovereign and without appeal.

The decisions of the jury will be established mainly on the following criteria:

The relevance of the video in relation to the theme of the Contest

The quality and originality of the screenplay

The technical quality, photography, editing, and directing

Personal appreciation

5.3 DIRECTING PRIZE

The Directing Prize will be designated by the main jury from among the selection of finalist films. The decisions of the jury will be established mainly on the criteria mentioned above, with priority given to the quality of the directing, editing, and mise-en-scène.

5.4 SCREENPLAY PRIZE

The Screenplay Prize will be designated by the main jury from among the selection of finalist films. The decisions of the jury will be established mainly on the criteria mentioned above, with priority given to the quality of the screenplay.

5.5 BEST FEMALE PERFORMANCE

The Best Female Performance will be designated by the main jury from among the selection of finalist films. The decisions of the jury will be established mainly on the performance of the actresses in competition.

5.6 BEST MALE PERFORMANCE

The Best Male Performance will be designated by the main jury from among the selection of finalist films. The decisions of the jury will be established mainly on the performance of the actors in competition.

5.7 YOUTH PRIZE

This Prize will reward a film from among a specific selection dedicated to this category. During the application, it will be necessary to register specifically for this Prize.

The Youth Prize will be designated by the main Jury and, if possible, two young people from the Lycée de la Vallée de Chevreuse who are not candidates in the contest, from among the selection of finalist films. The decisions of the jury will be established mainly on the criteria mentioned above. The status of the participant as a student or young graduate of less than one (1) year, from the closing date for entries on 06/09/2026, will also be taken into account.

Only high school students, students, or young graduates of less than one year will be eligible for this prize.

Proof of student status (certificate of school enrollment for the current year or the past year, or student card) will be requested.

5.8 ANIMATION FILM PRIZE

This Prize will reward a film from among a specific selection dedicated to this category. The decisions of the jury will be established mainly on the criteria mentioned above, with priority given to the quality of the animation.

5.9 PUBLIC PRIZE ("BRAME DU CERF")

All films in competition are also eligible for the Public Prize, also called the "Brame du Cerf" (favorite prize). The latter will be awarded to the participant whose film has obtained the highest number of votes on October 17.

ARTICLE 1: ORGANIZER, DATES AND THEME OF THE CONTEST

The association Loisirs Culture de Chevreuse (ALC), whose registered office is located at 45 bis rue de Rambouillet - 78460 Chevreuse (hereinafter "the Organizer"), is organizing from 18/02/2026 to 06/09/2026, a HD video creation contest entitled "FESTIVAL DU FILM DE LA VALLÉE DE CHEVREUSE" via the website www.festivaldufilmdelavalleedechevreuse.com (hereinafter the "Website") and relayed on the main community platforms (hereinafter the "Contest").

ARTICLE 2: PURPOSE AND REGISTRATION

2.1 Participation in the Contest implies the express and unreserved acceptance of these rules, in all their provisions, of the ethical rules in force on the Internet (netiquette, charter of good conduct...) as well as the laws and regulations applicable in France. Any dispute concerning its interpretation will be decided sovereignly and without appeal by the Organizer.

2.2 This contest is open to natural persons in metropolitan France. Persons who participated in the development of the contest can only participate in the "Out of Competition" category.

Any minor participant must have requested and obtained parental authorization before registering for the Contest. This parental authorization may be required by the Organizer before the prize is awarded. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse candidates or works whose holder is a minor who does not submit the parental authorization within the required deadlines.

2.3 The participant must register on the Website. The registration of entries takes place continuously from 18/02/2026 to 06/09/2026 at midnight. The time of receipt of the registration entry on the computer server dedicated to the Contest and hosted by the service provider chosen by the Organizer being authentic. No other means of participation (notably by mail) will be taken into account.

2.4 The Participant is informed and accepts that the information entered in the registration form serves as proof of their identity. The information entered by the participant binds them upon validation. The Organizer reserves the right to verify the accuracy of the data provided by the participants.

The Participant agrees to complete the registration form made available to them in good faith and to transmit accurate and non-infringing information to the Organizer. The Participant must fill in all entry zones, except those mentioned as not being mandatory.

Participations in the Contest will be canceled if they are incorrect, incomplete, counterfeited, or carried out in a manner that violates these rules.

ARTICLE 3: PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST

3.1 Each participant (main director) is identified by their last name, first name, and address. The use of a pseudonym for public broadcasting is authorized, and must be indicated during registration.

Each director may upload as many videos as they wish, respecting the theme "ODYSSEY".

The duration of this video must be less than or equal to 15 minutes. The video player used for broadcasting the films may round up to the nearest second, therefore a tolerance of one additional second will be applied.

The video must be submitted in a High Definition (HD) format, with a minimum resolution of 1080p (1920x1080).

The Organizer also recommends for the screening of these films a frame rate of 24 fps and the following codecs:

Pro Res HD HQ 422 or 4444 or XQ files in .mov

A French version or a version subtitled in French of the work is mandatory.

Any video not meeting these conditions will be excluded from the Contest.

The same video can be co-directed by a maximum of two participants. In this case, one of them will designate themselves during registration as the "main director". If the video wins prizes, the participant declared as the "main director" will be the sole recipient of the endowments and will handle the distribution with their team, with no exceptions. The Organizer cannot be held responsible for the terms of distribution among the team members.

The Participant guarantees that the proposed video is original and that they are the sole holder of the intellectual property rights attached to this video. As such, the Participant will handle the authorizations of all third parties who have directly or indirectly participated in its creation and/or who believe they have any right to assert in its respect, notably their image rights, and will assume the burden of all possible payments resulting from it.

Regarding the soundtrack, the Participant guarantees being the right holder of the music used in the film or having acquired the authorization of use from the author or their right holders (learn more on the SACEM website). A certificate may be requested by the Organizer if deemed necessary.

In general, the Participant guarantees the organizer of this Contest against any recourse, actions, or claims that could be formed, under any title, by any third party, during the exercise of the rights assigned herein and more generally under all the guarantees and commitments made under this agreement. The Organizer reserves the right to proceed with any verification for the application of this article.

The Organizer reserves the right to refuse any request for the withdrawal of a film within a period of 12 months from the date of publication of the content and to keep a copy for its archives.

3.2 The participant is prohibited from implementing or seeking to implement any participation process that is not strictly compliant with the principles of the Contest and these rules.

3.3 The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who alters the operation of the Contest or the Website or who violates the official rules of the Contest. The Organizer reserves the right to prosecute anyone who attempts to defraud or harm the smooth running of this Contest.

3.4 The Organizer reserves the right to proceed with any verification for compliance with this article as well as all the rules, notably to dismiss any participant who has committed any abuse or attempted fraud, without however having the obligation to proceed with a systematic verification of all the registration forms received, but potentially limiting this verification to the forms of potential winners.

3.5 The Organizer reserves the right to extend, shorten, modify, or cancel this Contest due to events beyond its control. Thus, if for any reason whatsoever, this Contest should not take place as planned, as a result, for example, of a computer virus, a bug, an intervention, or an external and unauthorized intrusion on the computer system, fraud including the use of a robot allowing to multiply the number of registrations for the Contest, or a technical failure or any other reason beyond the control of the Organizer and corrupting or affecting the management, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Contest, the Organizer then reserves the discretionary right to cancel, modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest without delay, without the participants being able to seek its liability as a result.

3.6 The Organizer may decide to cancel the Contest or a participation if it appears that manifest fraud has occurred in any form whatsoever, notably in a computer-based manner within the framework of participation in the Contest or the determination of winners.

3.7 By registering for the Contest, the Participant agrees that all content posted on the Website respects all legislation in force.

The organizer specifically prohibits, without this being limiting, any type of content:

Having a pornographic, pedophilic, xenophobic, or racist character;

Having a propaganda character to adhere to a political or religious thought;

Inciting crime, violence, hatred, or discrimination against a person or a group of persons, whether based on sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, age, or political opinions; Relaying false or misleading information with the aim of harming;

Infringing the intellectual property rights of a protected work;

Harmful to the reputation, private life, and image of third parties;

Containing content linked to a manifestly commercial interest or for promotional purposes;

Containing mentions of registered trademarks displayed ostentatiously;

Inciting to commit a crime, a misdemeanor, or an act of terrorism;

Harmful to the security or integrity of a State or a territory;

Apologizing for, denying, or trivializing a crime against humanity;

Apologizing for or promoting terrorist/violent extremist groups or individuals;

This list is not exhaustive.

The Organizer reserves the right, without having to justify it, not to publish or to remove from the Website, without delay or prior notification, content (videos and/or messages) that falls or that it deems to fall within the categories listed above, content that is not in line with the theme of the Contest or that is subject to controversy with the theme in competition, as well as any content that could harm its image, its activities, its values, its reputation, or its notoriety.

Some content may not be suitable for all audiences. In order to provide an additional level of protection, the Organization reserves the right to implement a filter to prevent vulnerable audiences from accessing content subject to an age restriction. This concerns in particular the following subjects:

Scenes of nudity and/or sexual behaviors and references;

Inappropriate acts or remarks and/or those that can be considered shocking for young audiences (including but not limited to obscene or violent scenes);

Dangerous scenes or risky activities likely to be imitated by minors;

This list is not exhaustive.

ARTICLE 4: PROOF AGREEMENT

It is agreed that the data contained in the information systems of the Organizer have probative force as to the connection elements and information resulting from computer processing relating to the contest organized by the Organizer.

ARTICLE 6: PUBLIC VOTE

6.1 CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE VOTE

The vote will take place exclusively on October 17. The vote is open to any natural person with the exception of the natural persons in charge of the organization of the Contest.

Each voter can only vote once for each film in competition during the entire duration of the festival.

ARTICLE 7: DISPUTES

The fact of participating in this Contest during registration entails the pure and simple acceptance of these rules.

No claim of any kind can occur concerning all or part of the contest, running from the end of the contest.

These rules are subject to French law. All difficulties in interpreting these rules and any litigious case will be decided in the last resort by the court of the registered office of the Organizer.

ARTICLE 8: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND FREEDOMS, PERSONAL DATA

8.1 What data are processed and why?

a. Registration data necessary for participation in the Festival.

To participate in the Festival, you must necessarily provide certain personal information about yourself (hereinafter "the Data"):

Valid email address of parents or holders of parental authority or your email address if you are an adult participant.

Postal address (street number, postal code, city, country)

These Data are designated as "Registration Data". These Registration Data are necessary for the execution of the Festival contract in which you wish to participate. Your date of birth is necessary so that we can, in accordance with Article 8 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPD/RGPD), ensure we obtain the consent of the holder of parental responsibility with respect to a minor.

When the child is under 16 years old, consent by the holder of parental responsibility is imperative in the form of a written authorization. Failure to provide these data or to meet these conditions in the event of a request by the Organizer will prevent you from participating.

8.2 Who is the data controller?

The Organizer is responsible for the collection and use of personal data concerning you which are listed in this note.

8.3 Who are the recipients of the Data?

The recipients of your Data are the authorized staff of the Organizer and of the hosting service.

8.4 What are your rights?

The Organizer respects everyone's private life and recognizes that processing personal data in a way that is both legal and appropriate constitutes an important social responsibility.

8.5 How to exercise these Rights?

Please note that we are likely to ask you for additional information to confirm your identity. As such, for your access request to be taken into account, you must send the elements necessary for your identification, namely, a written statement on your honor by which you certify being the holder of said personal data as well as a photocopy of your identity document.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), in its capacity as a supervisory authority.

8.6 Retention period of the Data.

Personal Data collected and processed by the Organizer within the framework of the Festival du Film de la Vallée de Chevreuse will not be kept beyond the duration strictly necessary for the purposes pursued as set out in these rules.

ARTICLE 9: LIABILITY

The Organizer cannot be held responsible for any malfunctions linked to the Internet network itself or linked to any intrusion, attempted intrusion, or fraud that has resulted in failures in the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or management of the challenge.

The Organizer cannot notably be held responsible for any errors, omissions, interruptions, deletion, loss of any email, and more generally, for the loss of any data as a result.

The Organizer cannot be held responsible for the congestion of the Internet network, the quality of the equipment of Internet users, nor the quality of their mode of access which could have repercussions on the delivery time of answers or on the connection time necessary for participation. Thus, the liability of the Organizer cannot be engaged if the electronic registration forms are not registered, are incomplete, or impossible to verify.

ARTICLE 10: PARTICIPATION FEES

The Contest has a fee.

The registration fees to apply for the Festival amount to €10. Except for young people applying in the "Youth Prize" Category, whose registration fees amount to €5.

Transport, meal, and accommodation expenses caused by participation will be at the expense of the participant.

The Organizer will not be bound to any refund if the participation has not complied with these rules or if the request has not been made in the forms and deadlines indicated above.
