Festival start: 17 September 2027
Festival end: 19 September 2027
The La Cort dels Miracles Association is pleased to present the 2nd edition of the Viladecavalls International and Local Short Film Festival (FILC-VILA 2027), which will take place on September 17, 18, and 19, 2027.
We return with a renewed proposal designed to establish Viladecavalls as a vibrant meeting point for filmmakers, students, film lovers, and the general public. Our goal is to offer a showcase for a wide variety of perspectives from around the world, while encouraging audiovisual creation in the Catalan language and promoting artistic expression within the local educational community.
For this second edition, FILC-VILA is structured into two main submission categories along with new opportunities for recognition:
Official Section: Open to short films from all over the world, regardless of origin or language. All selected films will be screened in Catalan or subtitled in Catalan (a service provided by the festival organization for films that do not have Catalan subtitles).
Commitment to the Catalan Language: Within the Official Section, we strengthen our support for Catalan cinema by awarding a Best Catalan Short Film Award (€200), which can be cumulative with the Best Festival Short Film Award (€200).
School Section (CRP Vallès Occidental II Area): We are opening a special free submission category for educational institutions in Terrassa, Viladecavalls, Matadepera, Ullastrell, Rellinars, and Vacarisses, aiming to promote young talent and the use of audiovisual storytelling in the classroom.
"La Mostra" (Out of Competition): We are introducing a non-competitive parallel section to provide space and visibility for works that stand out for their high social, thematic, or cultural value.
Submissions will open on November 1 on the Festhome platform (and via a web form for the School Section) and will close on May 20, 2027.
We invite you to be part of this new edition, share your stories, and celebrate short films with us in Viladecavalls!
