FLYING PYRENEES #2
SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
RULES

I - FESTIVAL DESCRIPTION
Festival Date: August 30, 2025
Location: Arnaud-Guilhem Community Hall (31360) / Haute-Garonne / Occitanie / France

About:

We are organizing a short film festival around the theme of Nature and Imagination: The Flight of the Pyrenees.

The call for films is open from June 18 to August 6, 2025.

The selection of films will be announced on August 15.

This competition will award prizes in the following categories:

Best International Film, Best French Film, and Best Film from Occitanie.

Aesthetics:

Les Pyrénées envolées aims to bring an imaginary world to nature, in the form of short films.

The idea is to address the theme of nature in a non-realistic way; through dreamlike, strange, creative, offbeat, poetic, supernatural, experimental, and visual approaches...

When nature shifts, unreal, and original.

Cinematic journeys between poetic, fantastical, dreamlike, and experimental...

Elves, sprites are welcome.

An elephant in the stable.

Over-exposed, under-exposed, holding hands.

And why should nature always be green?

Why should rivers always flow towards the sea?

It's a desire for travel, for change, for surprise, for aesthetic and narrative exploration, for a change of scenery. Surprising nature!

Films must be less than 15 minutes long.

Screenings:

Three screenings will be held on August 30th. The screenings will be presented to a wide, diverse audience of all ages, subject to the judgement of a jury composed of film enthusiasts and professionals.

The festival will take place at the village hall in Arnaud-Guilhem, in Haute-Garonne (31360) / Occitanie, France.

Awards and Qualifications:

Best International Film Award
Best French Film Award
Best Occitanie Film Award

The winners will be awarded virtual laurels online, featuring the festival logo.

The winners will be announced online and on social media.

Films must be suitable for all audiences; without obscenities, violence, sexism, racism, etc.

If they are in a language other than French, French subtitles are required.

The selected films will be screened in one of the three programs comprising the competition.

Article 5 - Subtitling
All non-French-language films must be subtitled in French.
The festival organizers will not be able to provide subtitling.

Article 6 - Selection
The selection process opens on June 18, 2025, and the submission deadline is midnight on August 6, 2025.

Only films accompanied by a duly completed submission form will be screened. An incomplete submission will result in immediate cancellation of the submission.

In the event of final selection, the producer or director agrees to send us a photo of the film and the director (or, upon request, other documents such as a biography, press article, etc.).

No film selected for the competition may be withdrawn by the producer or director once it has been selected.

Article 10 - Rental and Copyright
The selection of a film and its screening at the Les Pyrénées envolées festival does not grant any right to rental in any form, nor to copyright or exploitation rights.

Applying to the festival implies this waiver of rights.

The festival's aim is to promote, provide visibility, and select under-seen films that are seeking a first public exposure.

Article 11 - Jury and Awards
A jury, composed of film buffs, professionals, and film enthusiasts, will be formed for this first edition of the festival.

At the end of the event, several prizes will be awarded:

Article 13 – Other
The Board of Directors of the Microlumen association is responsible for resolving matters not covered by these regulations. It reserves the right to postpone, cancel, or interrupt the event depending on the requirements of its operation.

Participation in the first edition of the Les Pyrénées envolées festival implies unreserved acceptance of the terms of these regulations.
