This is a mini-film festival project organized around a call for short films on the theme of nature and fantasy:

strange, creative, offbeat, poetic, supernatural, experimental, plastic... according to the perspective of the filmmakers who will present their works.

REGULATIONS


I - DESCRIPTION OF THE FESTIVAL

Festival date: July 20, 2024
Location: Arnaud-Guilhem village hall (31360) / Haute-Garonne / Occitanie / France

About :
We are organizing a festival of short films around the theme Imaginary-sur-nature / Dreamlike and nature: The Pyrenees in flight.
The call for films is open from June 1 to June 30.
The selection of films will be announced on July 10.
This is a competition which will award prizes in the categories:
the prize for best international film, the prize for best French film, the prize for best Occitanie film.

Aesthetic :
The Flying Pyrenees aims to bring an imagination around nature, in the form of short films.
The idea is to deal with the theme of nature but in a non-realistic way; through dreaminess, through a strange, creative, offbeat, poetic, supernatural, experimental, plastic treatment...
When nature shifts, unreal, original
Filmic journeys between poetic fantasy, dreamlike experimental....
Elves ans Leprechauns are welcome
An elephant in the stable
Over-ex Under-ex hold hands
And why should nature always be green?
Why would rivers always flow to the sea?

It is a desire for travel, for a change, for surprise, for aesthetic research and narrative, change of scenery. Surprising nature!

The duration of the films must be less than 15 minutes.

Projections:
During the day of July 20, 3 screening sessions will take place, submitted to the jury, which will be made up of film buffs and professionals, will be presented to a large, eclectic audience of all ages. The festival will take place at the village hall of Arnaud-Guilhem, in Haute-Garonne (31360) / Occitanie / France.

The winners will be awarded virtual laurels via the internet with the festival logo.
Communication will be made about the winners via the internet and social networks. 




II - REGULATIONS

REGISTRATION CONDITIONS:

Article 1
The first edition of the Pyrénées Envolées festival will take place on July 20, 2024

Article 2 The Pyrénées Envolées festival is organized by the Microlumen association.

Article 3 - Registration conditions
Can participate in the competition: short fiction films, experimental films and films by visual artists, with nature and dreamlike themes, in an offbeat and creative way.

Films should be for all audiences; without obcenities, without violence, without sexism, without racism etc..

If they are in a language other than French, subtitling in French is required.

The selected films will be screened on one of the 3 programs making up the competition. Advertising and institutional films and clips are excluded from the competition.

The competition is open to all French-speaking short films or those not finalized since January 1, 2015.

Article 4 - duration
Films must not exceed fifteen minutes (15 mins), credits included.

Article 5 - Subtitling
All non-French-speaking films must be subtitled in French. The festival organization will not be able to provide subtitling.

Article 6 - Selection
The opening of the selection is set for June 3, 2024, the closing date for registrations is set: - as of June 30, 2024, midnight.

Only films accompanied by a properly completed registration form will be viewed. An incomplete file will result in the immediate cancellation of the registration.

In the event of a final selection, the producer or director undertakes to send us a photo of the film and the director (or on request, other documents such as the biography, press article, etc.).

Any film selected in competition cannot be withdrawn by the producer or director once it has been selected.

Article 7 - Sending and projection support
The proposed films will be viewed through the platform.

The selected films must be sent to the Microlumen association and/or downloadable, before July 16.
The format of the films will be in HD or 4K.
The names, first names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail must clearly appear on the support, as well as the title and duration of the film.
The films must be in .mov or .avi or .mp4 video format.

Article 8 - Commission
The selection will be made by a commission made up of members of the Microlumen association, film buffs and cinema lovers, artists and cinema professionals, who undertake to view all of the films received.

Article 9 - Selected films
The list of selected short films will be published on the festival website http://microlumen.free.fr/pyvol.html approximately 10 days before the start of the event and the director(s) or distributor or producer(s) of the selected films will be notified by e-mail.

Article 10 – Rental and copyright
The selection of a film and its broadcast in the Les Pyrénées envolées festival does not give any right to rental in any form, nor to copyright or exploitation rights. Applying to the festival implies this waiver of rights.
The idea of ​​the festival is to promote, give visibility, and grant a selection to little-seen films that want their first public exposure.

Article 11 - Jury and prizes
A jury, which will be made up of film buffs and professionals, and cinema lovers, will be formed for this 1st edition of the festival.

At the end of the event, several prizes will be awarded:
the aprize for best international film
the prize for best French film
the prize for best Occitanie film.

The reward will consist of (virtual) laurels sent to the winners, it will be an enhancement but there will be no money or reward in kind.

The reward for the winners will therefore only be symbolic and will lead to communication with publications via social networks in particular.

Article 12 - Promotion
Participation in the Les Pyrénées envolées festival implies, for the promotion of the event, authorization to broadcast on television, radio and the Internet extracts from the selected short films (limited to 10% of the total duration of the film and less in all cases at 2 minutes), but also photos of the films which will be used to promote the festival.

Article 13 – Others
The board of directors of the Microlumen association is responsible for settling cases not provided for in these regulations. It reserves the right to postpone, delete or interrupt the event depending on the requirements of its operation.

Participation in the 1st edition of the Les Pyrénées envolées festival implies unreserved acceptance of the terms of these regulations.
