The festival was created in 2015 and has the goal to become a space for professional development for filmmakers and amateurs that are looking for a platform to show their films and do some networking.

It has different categories for competition open for high school and university students (in Mexico) and international filmmakers. In addition, it has two international film exhibitis, one for gender and sexual diversity and one for long feature films.

INTERNATIONAL FILM, VIDEO GAME AND AUDIOVISUAL NARRATIVES FESTIVAL
CALL FOR ENTRIES TO COMPETE IN THE DIFFERENT NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES OF THE OFFICIAL SELECTION OF SHORT FILMS AND VIDEO GAMES.

The Cecehachero, Mexican film and video game festival in its tenth edition, invites ENCCH students, high school students nationwide, university students nationwide, film schools, as well as national and international film industry professionals, as well as the national video game industry to participate in the different Sections of the Official Selection of this edition, which will take place in the month of September 2025.

OFFICIAL SELECTION

GENERAL SECTION
All national and international film industry professionals and students from specialized film schools may participate with up to two proposals for fiction and/or non-fiction short films whose production has been completed between January 2023 and the closing date of this call for entries, with a maximum duration of 20:00 minutes each, including credits. It is essential to read the general considerations established at the end of this call for entries, as there will be no special attention for any registered work.
The categories to be awarded in this section are:

- Gloria Shoemann Category
Best National Short Film
- Alice Guy Category
Best International Short Film

GENERAL RULES FOR PARTICIPATION
Specifications:
1. The definition of the films to be registered must be in Full HD (1920x1080), even if the aspect ratio does not correspond to 16:9.
2. The maximum length of the short films will depend on the section to be registered:
a. Cecehachera: 07:00 minutes including credits.
b. University: 12:00 minutes including credits.
c. General: 20:00 minutes including credits.
3. The theme of the films will be free.
4. In the Cecehachera and University sections, students may participate and be advised by one or more professors.
5. If the participating short film has been advised by one, one or more professors, their names must be included in the credits of the film.
6. The deadline for submission of materials and receipt of entries will be Friday, May 2, 2025 at 23:59 Central Mexican Time.
7. The music of the films must be original or in case of including copyrighted music, the corresponding rights must be obtained, otherwise, the work will not be considered for the section.
8. If the film is selected, it must have a subtitle file, French or English. The subtitle file must be integrated independently with a .SRT extension (NOT IN THE FILM RENDER).
9. If the film is spoken in a language other than Spanish, it must have Spanish subtitles in order to be considered.
10. For the viewing of the films registered in this call, the short film must be hosted in its maximum definition and in private mode in a Vimeo (NOT YOUTUBE), Drive or Dropbox account, with the download option enabled, so when filling out the registration form, the link to the film and password for viewing and downloading will be requested.
11. Short films in the Cecehachera and Univeristaria categories that have been selected in other festivals or previous contests will NOT be accepted.
12. For the Cecehachera and University categories, at least 90% of the members of the film (crew and talent) must be students. To prove this criterion, photographs of current credentials or proof of enrollment will be requested.

MATERIAL REQUIRED IN CASE OF SELECTION
In case of selection, it will be required to send the film with the following characteristics:
1. Maximum definition FULL HD (1920x1080).
2. Stereo sound (minimum).
3. MP4 format (H.264 codec).
4. Subtitle file in French or Spanish, as the case may be and according to the indications of the organizing committee, with .SRT extension.
