POUR FAIRE COURT is a film festival based in Lyon, France. The 9th edition will take place on April 2026.
For the past eight years, the association Short Event has been organizing a short film festival in Lyon: “Pour Faire Court.” This event, which embraces the codes of the seventh art as vectors of emotion and sharing, invites you to discover a curated selection of short films based on a specific theme.
This year, the theme is “Shiver! In the rhythm of emotions.”
This rich and open-ended theme allows for multiple interpretations. It invites filmmakers to explore all forms of shivers, whether fear, emotion, adrenaline, or surprise through original, striking, and immersive stories.
Participants are encouraged to express their own vision of the theme !
A cocktail gathering will then be offered to encourage sharing among everyone enthusiasts, newcomers, and artists.

Goosebumps – for films that scare, unsettle, or disturb.
Thunderstruck – for films that surprise with their twist or intensity.
Night Clash – for action or suspense films full of adrenaline.
Emotional Chills – for films that make the heart beat in a different way.
AWARDS:
Grand Jury Prize: €400 + trophy + screening of the film in a partner cinema.
Second Jury Prize: €200 + trophy.
Audience Award: trophy + gifts from sponsors.
ARTICLE 1: CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The 9th edition of the Pour faire court festival is open to all filmmakers, whether amateur, student, or professional. Films may be shot with any type of camera, smartphone, or produced using animation.
This year’s theme is “Let’s shiver! In the rhythm of emotions”, an invitation to explore all forms of thrills: fear, emotion, adrenaline, surprise.
Registration fee: €7 to participate.
Payment can be made directly on our website via the “Festhome” page.
Additional fee: €2 per extra video submitted.
Maximum number of videos: 3 per participant or group (only one film will be selected by the organizers).
Film duration: minimum 5 minutes – maximum 15 minutes.
Submission deadline: February 28, 2026 at midnight.
ARTICLE 2: FESTIVAL REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION OF WORKS
Technical specifications:
Minimum resolution: Full HD (1920x1080).
4K accepted but not required.
Video format: MP4 (H.264 codec) required. MOV format accepted.
Prohibited formats: AVI, WMV, FLV, ProRes, DNxHD.
Audio specifications:
Mandatory stereo 2.0 (no 5.1).
Accepted audio formats: AAC (recommended) or MP3.
Audio must be embedded in the video, even, without saturation, and with normalized volume.
Submission process:
Films must be submitted via the Festhome platform.
The completed and signed registration form, accompanied by the statement “Read and approved”.
A summary of the film (maximum 500 characters).
A visual (poster or key image) for communication purposes.
Finalists must provide a pristine version of their film for screening during the festival.
ARTICLE 3: RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate must ensure they have obtained all necessary rights for the use of images, music, and content in their film.
They guarantee that the submitted work is original and does not infringe on any third-party rights.
ARTICLE 4: USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The use of any form of artificial intelligence (AI) in the making of the short films is strictly prohibited.
In case of violation, the submitted works will not be accepted.
ARTICLE 5: SELECTION OF SHORT FILMS
Incomplete or non-compliant applications will be automatically rejected.
The organizers reserve the right to refuse any submission for the following reasons:
Insufficient technical quality.
Content contrary to public order or decency.
Work likely to lead to legal action.
Short films will be selected based on creativity, originality, and respect for the theme.
The selection committee’s decisions are final.
No copies of the works will be returned.
If selected, the filmmaker must provide a poster or promotional visual for communication purposes.
ARTICLE 6: CONSENT AND BROADCASTING RIGHTS
Submitting a film implies authorization, without compensation, to use the provided information and visuals (royalty-free) for communication purposes.
Each participant agrees to display the Pour faire court festival logo (downloadable from the website) on all communication materials related to their participation.
The participant authorizes the broadcasting of their film:
By the festival’s media partners.
On the festival’s social media platforms.
Winners agree that their film may be screened at partner festivals; they will be notified beforehand.
ARTICLE 7: PRESENCE AT THE FESTIVAL
Selected filmmakers agree to be present or represented at the festival.
If absent, a thank-you video will be required.
A short artistic presentation may be requested during the awards ceremony.
ARTICLE 8: AWARDS
Winners will be chosen following the jury deliberation during the festival.
Four categories and three main awards will be presented.
Awards for the 2026 edition:
Goosebumps Award – for films that frighten, disturb, or unsettle.
Thunderbolt Award – for films that surprise through their twist or intensity.
Roller Coaster Award – for action or suspense films full of adrenaline.
Emotional Shivers Award – for films that touch the heart differently.
Prizes:
Grand Jury Prize: €400 gift card + trophy.
Second Jury Prize: €200 gift card + trophy.
Audience Award: trophy + sponsor gift.
The jury’s decision is final.
ARTICLE 9: UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
The association’s board is solely authorized to rule on any cases not covered by this regulation.
Participation in the Pour faire court festival implies unconditional acceptance of all the clauses stated.
The organizing committee reserves the right to modify or cancel the festival in case of force majeure.
In the event of a dispute, only the courts of Lyon shall have jurisdiction.
I acknowledge that I have read and accept, without reservation, the conditions of the regulation.
