DESCRIPTION OF THE FESTIVAL

The Muma Patagonia International Audiovisual Festival will take place on Friday the 27th, Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of October 2023 in person in Comodoro Rivadavia, in the city of Chubut, in Argentina.

It will be screen only films directed by Women, Lesbians, Transvestites, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersexuals and Non-Binaries are allowed.

It will have the following sections:

International feature film competition (4 features)
International short film competition (2 programs of 5 shorts)
Argentinian feature film competition (4 features)
Argentinian short film competition (2 programs of 5 shorts)

- Provide tools for professional training that contribute to the labor insertion of women and dissidents in the Patagonian region.

- Generate a space for exchange with networks of audiovisual women from other parts of Latin America and the world.

The Muma Patagonia International Audiovisual Festival will take place on October 27th, 28th, 29th and will be held in person in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut and virtually for the rest of the world. Only films directed by women and LGBTQ+ people are admitted. We do not screen films made by cis gender men

It will have the following sections:

REGULATION

3rd MUMA PATAGONIA AUDIOVISUAL FESTIVAL

MAIN GOAL

MUMA FEST aims to strengthen ties between distribution companies, producers and filmmakers in Patagonia, learn about and recognize the narratives of women and dissidence from around the world and put them in dialogue with the public, provide tools for professional training with a gender perspective that contribute to the employment of women and dissidents in the Patagonian region and generate a space for exchange with women's audiovisual networks from other parts of Latin America and the world.

ARTICLE 1
Made by the Network of Audiovisual Women of Patagonia Argentina, part of the RED FAP (network of audiovisual festivals of Patagonia), produced with the support of the Secretariat of Culture of the province of Chubut, the 3rd MUMA PATAGONIA Audiovisual Festival will take place online and in person in the city of Comodoro Rivadavia, province of Chubut on October 27, 28 and 29, in the screening main auditorium of the SarmientoArt School of Comodoro Rivadavia.

ARTICLE 2
The registration of films in all categories is free for Argentine content and is open to national and international long, medium and short film productions of all genres made by women, dissidents and non-binary identities.

ARTICLE 3
The 3rd edition of the MUMA PATAGONIA Audiovisual Festival will include: International Feature Film Competition (4 feature films), International Short Film Competition (2 programs of 5 short films), Argentinian Competition for feature and shortfilms.

ARTICLE 4
Each film may have up to 2 (two) screenings, including an additional one for the press, if so decided by the Festival authorities. Once the Festival has communicated the selection of a film and the producer or his representative has provided his consent, it cannot be withdrawn. Its producer or the designated representative must submit the requested film and promotional materials before the deadline, as indicated in ANNEX I of these Regulations.
These materials will be used for the catalogue, the website, the press, publicity and dissemination of the film's participation in the Festival. The films will be presented in the original language, subtitled in spanish if necessary.
ARTICLE 5
To present a film to the Festival selection, it is necessary to complete the steps detailed below:

a) Register through Festhome
b) Send a download link with password.

Registration closes on Saturday, September 30, 2023.

The entire registration process will be exclusively online.

ARTICLE 6
The Selection Committee will recommend to the Festival authorities the films that, in the opinion of its members, should be chosen to be part of this edition of the Festival. The authorities will decide based on this proposal, selecting the works that respond to the objective of the Festival and have relevant and/or innovative artistic values, in order to form an Official Section compatible with the requirements of an International Competitive Festival.

ARTICLE 7
The organizers of the festival will designate the members of the juries for each section. Decisions will be made by absolute majority in the first two ballots and by relative majority in the following ones. Anyone who has any type of interest in the production or exploitation of a film in competition cannot be a jury. The members of the Jury firmly undertake not to publicly express their opinions regarding the films submitted for their consideration before the official proclamation of the awards.

ARTICLE 8

FOR ALL THE FILMS IN COMPETITION
‍National and international feature films participate. The productions must have been completed during 2020 - 2023 period.

The copies to be screened must necessarily have subtitles in Spanish if they are spoken in other languages.

The following prizes will be awarded:

‍for Best Feature Film;
‍Special Jury Prize;
‍for Best Direction;
‍for Best Performance;
‍for Best Screenplay.

The Jury may award up to 2 (two) Special Mentions, indicating the motivation that makes those who obtain them worthy of those mentions. No film may receive more than 2 (two) prizes, and no prize may be declared void.

ARTICLE 9
Once a film is scheduled, it cannot be withdrawn from the Festival.

ARTÍCULO 10º

10.1. The producers and distributors of those films that make up the Competitions undertake to include in all their advertising and press material the phrase “Official Selection of the MUMA PATAGONIA Audiovisual Festival”, using the Festival logo.

10.2. The producers and distributors of those films that win awards undertake to highlight them in all their advertising and press material, using the Festival logo.

10.3. This logo will be available on the Festival website.

ARTÍCULO 11º
Faced with the need to resolve an issue that is not contemplated in these bases and conditions, the MUMA fest committee together with the designated Juries will be responsible for making the pertinent decisions, which will be final.
