Festival start: 03 September 2025      Festival end: 04 October 2025

The International Community Film Festival Historias en Kilómetros (FICC HEK) - SOUTH TO SOUTH, celebrates its second edition in 2025 claiming community cinema as a space for meeting, creation and audiovisual resistance. Under the slogan “A Party to Believe Again” this festival seeks to amplify the voices of communities in the Global South, making visible stories of struggle, resilience and peace building. In this edition, we focus on art and culture as drivers of change, social leadership in the defense of the territory, the peasantry as a political subject and promoter of peace, and education as a pillar for social, environmental and gender justice.

In 2025, FICC HEK - SOUTH TO SOUTH will tour different territories, taking its programming to communities on three continents. In Colombia, each screening and activity will have a host collective: LA ROTATIVA in Tierra Grata, Cesar (September 3 and 4); COCOSUR in Ibagué, Tolima (September 10 and 11); VISIÓN JÓVEN in Cereté, Córdoba (September 17 and 18); MAREA PRODUCCIONES in Tumaco, Nariño (September 23 and 24); and CISCA PRODUCCIONES in Norte de Santander (October 4 and 5). Internationally, the festival will reach the refugee camp of Kakuma, Kenya (September 6) with THE KAMP and Dhaka, Bangladesh (September 27) with AÁRAR PRODUCTIONS, strengthening the dialogue and connection between diverse realities of the global south.

PARTICIPATION AGREEMENTS

In order to guarantee a harmonious and transparent participation in the FICC HEK - SOUTH TO SOUTH, we have established some basic agreements. These guidelines seek to respect the rights of the works and their creators, promote fairness in the selection process and ensure that each story reaches the audience with the quality and respect it deserves. By registering, each participant agrees to comply with these conditions, trusting that together we build a community film space based on collaboration, mutual recognition and passion for transforming realities through cinema.

-Producers, directors and distributors from any country who hold the copyright, intellectual property rights and all other rights to the audiovisual work they are competing with (broadcasting rights) are eligible to participate.

-Participants declare that they own the rights to the audiovisual work they are submitting (including each and every one of the images, sound and soundtrack), and that they have obtained in writing all authorizations or permissions for it to participate in the Festival.

-The Festival will consider the person or legal representative of the entity that submits its work as the interlocutor to address issues related to its participation in the Festival, assuming full responsibility for the persons or groups involved in the production of the work.

-The Festival shall not be liable for any claim arising from any failure to comply with the terms set forth in these rules. Consequently, the participants release the Festival from any and all claims, demands, lawsuits and judicial measures taken against them by third parties, whatever the reason may be. Likewise, they undertake to guarantee, compensate and hold harmless the Festival, against all expenses and fees related to legal proceedings and direct or indirect damages, as well as an eventual judgment against the Festival, or payments resulting from an agreement finked with the plaintiff.

-In order for the Selection Committee to be able to view the film, it must have Spanish and English subtitles. The Festival is not responsible for the translation or subtitling of participating films.

-Audiovisual works that are not pertinent to the themes related to the FESTIVAL will be automatically disqualified.
