In March 2004 the 1st international short film festival for films by artists was held in Gstaad, Switzerland, with the ultimate prize being 'The Golden Cow of Gstaad'. For the organisers of Gstaad Film, the event was a great success: Many artists made use of the possibility to present their works at the festival & the quality of the program was high, attracting many films from Switzerland and entries from as far away as Argentina. The three days of the festival gave many possibilities for interesting contacts, not only for we the organisers, but also for a numerous and interested audience who were left excited, enthralled and enriched by the experience.
The positive reaction generated over the three-day period encouraged us to start organising a second festival. To improve the organisation and to give the participants/entrants more time, we decided to organise the festival in a two-year cycle, as a biennale.
Created to encourage content creators from unique backgrounds to share their stories during the Cannes Film Festival, the independent Diversity in Cannes Short Film & Web Series Showcase will promote the work of diverse (thought, race, gender, age, religion, physical ability and sexual orientation) filmmakers and recognize them globally for their achievements in film.

Winners will be determined by jury and announced at the showcase.
While the events take place in France at the same time as the Cannes Film Festival the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase is an INDEPENDENT EVENT!!!

HIGH COAST INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL – True Independent Films in the Swedish High Coast.
We work to promote True Independent Films – for film makers to reach out with and for people to see. Participating at the High Coast Film Festival should be a valuable and memorable experience.
The Festival is a two day event - Friday and Saturday- held at Lunde Folkets Hus (house of the people). Used as a Cinema in the 70's it has now received a revival!
We show films that are self produced and haven't been at the major Swedish Film Festivals. We also have a limit for how much external cash that the production has been granted. This is to ensure that the Festival remains a platform for True Independent Films and film makers. For more details about eligibility please read "Rules & Terms" below.
The foundational idea with the festival and the program we put together is the personal voice and expression through the medium of film. There are no sections for contemporary films or attention to any specific topics or methods – film as a means to artisticly express and portray is what puts the program together.
As a result we show films with all sorts of thematics and methods. Strict fiction with a clear cut storyline, wild experimental film poetry, quiet anthropological documentaries. Comedies, dramas and everything there between. Some are entertaining, some are not. Some are easy to digest, some not at all.
We pay for accommodation for all selected film makers thursday to sunday so all guests can get both the festival event and a few days extra. This is something we do to help and support visiting the festival and part of our ambition to make it a valuable experience for participating film makers.
During our first four editions we are happy to have succeeded establishing the festival as a quality event for international independent films in the High Coast. Lots of press coverage by regional news paper, Swedish National TV and Swedish National wide radio have spread the word about what we do and it's had an impact. Full house festival and attendence from both press, audience, film organizations and film makers have shown what we knew all along – the quality of real independent films is high, the gems are unknown and once people are exposed to them they put great value to the films and the cinematic experience.
2018 we founded a Streamingsite for True Independent Films – Illambra. All participants are invited to join, not only with the film at the festival but with others too that fit the site. We want to offer audience a wider opportunity to take part of the festival program – all year around from anywhere in the world, and to offer film makers a home for their works where they are presented in a qualitative environment and platform. The idea of Illambra is to over time build a solid videostore online presenting authors rather than titles for audience to follow and watch works of.

Featured Films on Website
Apart from the Festival event we have also begun building a section of featured films on our website. We're looking for Experimental and Unconventional Genre, Auteur and Art house films of all sorts.
If you have a Short film available for free online or a Feature film for free or purchase, and you wish to have it featured and promoted, please follow the instructions in this link: http://bit.ly/featuredfilm
We want to host a curated section of films that is wide but still of quality and that makes sense for film makers who submits a film, as more films can be featured on our website than we can invite to the festival event.
The curating is based on our artistic judgement and we won't feature every film - but we will host many and we will never charge for this service.

Feedback, Review & Festival Consideration
It's frustrating to be declined and not get to know why. However, it can also be frustrating submitting to a festival and be forced to pay a higher fee because it includes feedback you're not interested in.
We work diligently, with care and dedication when putting the program together and when it comes to feedback for the submissions we do the same thing. This is why we divide our categories so that feedback is separate from the submissions and is an in-depth review rather than a small note.
Feedback is given by our head programmer Andrija Jovanovic and is an extensive analysis and review of the film and it's different components. Film language, dramaturgical storyline, pacing, technical aspects of grading, composoting and editing, acting etc. It's direct, honest and constructive.
If you wish to submit a film and also get feedback, please choose the matching category.
***
We have no hard rules for the content of the film, but the following tend not to be a good fit for us:
- Films that seek to educate and teach the viewers
- TV-format films and headshot interview based documentaries
- Music videos and films solely driven by soundtrack
We spend months carefully watching and programming our festival selection. Presenting the best possible program we can is what our festival is built upon. Submitting to the festival is to pay to have the film considered and is not a guarantee to have it selected. We receive hundreds of submissions each edition and only around 5% are selected. Please make sure that you wish to submit before doing so.

THE LONG ISLAND FILM FESTIVAL IS THE LONGEST RUNNING FILM FESTIVAL ON LONG ISLAND!
Our MISSION is to discover, promote and give venue to independent filmmakers, not just from the greater New York area, but from other regions of America and abroad. For 34 years, the Long Island Film Festival has presented high quality film programs and has made a major contribution to the Long Island community by promoting films that are entertaining, educational and enhance the general public's understanding of cinema culture and the humanities.
During those 35 years, we have witnessed filmmaking transform itself from a strictly film medium to a highly technological global digital art form with sophisticated software operating on specially configured computers. As a result, there are more filmmakers attempting to break into the film industry. It is those new filmmakers that the Long Island Film Festival seeks to discover.
As an international film festival, World Lens focuses on foreign Indie filmmakers that are producing films that are pieces of their culture and set in economic, social, environmental, and political spheres. It is the commitment of the Long Island Film Festival to bring these films to America and present these perspectives to Long Islanders to enlighten and enhance their understanding of the world around us.
Our online festival is second to none. With thousands of views worldwide including industry personnel and distributors that have access to the site we have he edge over other festivals. The films selected for the online festival will be viewed on www.longislandfilmfestivalonline.org from August 1 - 31 2017. In addition the films will be screened at several venues throughout the year.
The Massachusetts Independent Film Festival (MassIFF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by filmmakers, film writers, and film lovers. Our goal is to showcase films from around the world made by truly independent filmmakers. We want to show the best of contemporary independent filmmaking in all genres(drama, experimental, comedy, horror, slow cinema, sci fi, fantasy, animation, documentary, and more). We dedicate Q&A time and conduct video interviews for visiting filmmakers. We also help promote the selected films to find a new audience. We love the art of cinema and we welcome all to join us! Please visit our website www.massiff.org for a glimpse into previous festivals.
The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival is a unique event that brings Brooklyn’s celebrated film and media makers together with their peers across the country and around the world. The award-winning AoBFF is a filmmaker-focused event, platform and showcase for exciting emerging creators and established voices. We partner with film distributors and media organizations, host world-class talkbacks, create innovative programming for networking and skill building, and screen in state-of-the-art theaters for enthusiastic audiences across Brooklyn.
Founded by working artists in 2011, ten festival premieres have gotten theatrical distribution to date — and one became an HBO series. We have held events in nineteen different venues in nine neighborhoods across Brooklyn (so far,) often partnering with local businesses and organizations to reach the widest possible audience.
Our innovative approach to ensure that no single POV dominates the curation process includes working with a different Guest Festival Director every season. And our ethical and transparent submission policy is a model for the industry.
We believe that film festivals exist for filmmakers, not the other way around.
In 2014 we became the only indie film festival to build and program our own video-on-demand streaming platform: Brooklyn On Demand, where we broadcast festival favorites, original series and more, online and on a Roku channel with over 16,000 subscribers, alongside Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. brooklynondemand.com

We have exciting neo-noir networking events in place that have reaped benefits for ALL of our past participants. We did the Downtown L.A. Neo Noir premiere of Robin Wright's directorial debut, THE DARK OF NIGHT at L.A.'s very own Downtown Independent Theater. Founded and organized by passionate soccer fans, we can't get enough of the game, its stories, and its storytellers. We live and breathe the soccer lifestyle, and we are dedicated to sharing it with others. That's why K+S is not only a festival, but also a gathering for the entire soccer culture community of North America -- and beyond.

More than just a showcase of soccer films, each K+S festival is a full cultural event, including film screenings, featured speakers, panel discussions, photography/art exhibitions, literary readings, and more.
Our History
K+S was founded in 2009, when a blind date between two fervent soccer and film fans, Greg Lalas and Rachel Markus, quickly evolved into something else: a small festival in New York celebrating soccer culture. That inaugural event sold out, and since then, K+S has gone on to organize festivals in Washington (D.C.), Portland (Ore.), Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen, Prague, Kerala (India), among others.
