As one of the world’s most recognised independent film festivals in the world, ÉCU embraces innovation and creativity and allows directors in competition to showcase their films to audiences who love and appreciate independent cinema. Filmmakers who are selected into ÉCU’s Official Selection join an active community of creatives who are continually pushing the boundaries of independent cinema.
Since its inception in 2006, ÉCU has forged a path for independent film and the scope of its presence has grown to a global scale with the festival often being referenced as the European equivalent of Sundance; an honour that we don’t take lightly.

Each year, our festival takes place in Paris during the springtime, which is not only a beautiful season but also an exciting time of year for ÉCU, because that is when we showcase roughly around 60 of the World’s very best independent films. Although ÉCU emphasises European talent, it also recognises the genius of international filmmakers with several categories allocated to non-European films.
The next ÉCU, the 21st edition, will take place on April, 2026 in Paris, France.
ÉCU isn’t just about screening an amazing slate of films over its three-day event in Paris. There are also professional workshops led by experts in the industry, Q&A’s held with the attending filmmakers after every screening session and a chance to network with fellow filmmakers, producers, agents, industry representatives, prospective film buyers and, of course, the cinema-loving public. At ÉCU, there is a dialogue focusing on celebrating but also critiquing the world’s best indie cinema of today.
Though ÉCU’s main event IS the three-day festival in Paris each spring, there is even more! Thanks to our 50+ partner festivals, partner organisations, film centres and film commissions, ÉCU goes on an annual world tour called ÉCU-On-The-Road. This gives award-winning films (as well as many of the Official Selection films) the opportunity for their films to reach a broader, global, international audience.
ÉCU-On-The-Road showcased films in over 80 countries around the globe in 2016 to 2025 at special ÉCU mini-festivals, partner festivals, cultural institutions and film schools, including an amazing seven day special festival in São Paulo, Brazil. The event was made possible through the support of Caixa Cultural, São Paulo and was a huge success. ÉCU also held special events in Berlin (Germany), Atami (Japan) and was part of festivals in Lebanon, Italy, Russia, USA, Romania, Austria, Denmark and other countries. This gives ÉCU filmmakers great exposure to audiences that they may never have reached otherwise.
Since 2006, ÉCU has helped the careers of hundreds of independent filmmakers, actors, DPs, editors, screenwriters and we are honoured to give aspiring film directors the chance for their voices to be seen and heard.

El XVI° Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de la Cuenca del Salado se celebrará en Rauch (Argentina) del 6 al 12 de octubre de 2025.
El Festival está organizado por la Asociación Civil "Cineclub El Gabinete" de Rauch, con el apoyo de la Dirección de Cultura de la Municipalidad de Rauch, el Instituto Cultural Bonaerense y el aval de la Facultad de Arte de la UNICEN (Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires).
El Showcase de Pilotos de Serie es un certamen para dar visibilidad y proyección al talento emergente en la creación de series y webseries de ficción, animación y documental.
Una idea de Serielizados organizada conjuntamente con Zoom Festival Internacional de Continguts Audiovisuals de Catalunya. Con el patrocinio de DAMA, la entidad de gestión de Derechos de Autor de Medios Audiovisuales.
La 10ª edición contará con la novedad de la proyección de los pilotos en Alcalá de Henares durante la 52ª edición de Alcine, que se suma al proyecto del Showcase de Pilotos de Serie.
Una selección de pilotos de series y webseries será proyectada en Serielizados Fest (17 – 22 de octubre en Barcelona), en Alcine (2 - 12 de noviembre en Alcalá de Henares) y en FILMIN (17 - 29 de octubre).
Los dos premios (con aportaciones en metálico); uno, otorgado por un jurado de profesionales del audiovisual, y el otro, por las votaciones del público, serán anunciados en la Gala de Clausura del Festival Zoom Igualada (25 de noviembre).
Los creadores de las series finalistas tendrán la oportunidad de conversar 10 minutos con cada miembro del jurado profesional para recibir una valoración de su producción. La sesión 'Meet the Expert' se organizará en Barcelona durante el Serielizados Fest.

El Festival Universitario de Cine y Audiovisuales Equinoxio celebra su vigésima séptima edición entre el 19 y el 27 de septiembre de 2025. Abriendo un espacio de encuentro y reflexión en torno al cine estudiantil y posibilitando el contacto con la visión estética de nuevos talentos, así como con las preocupaciones artísticas, sociales y personales de los jóvenes cineastas.
Esta edición de Equinoxio gira alrededor de la línea temática “Pulsiones: Encarnar el deseo”. Buscamos un cine emergente que dé luces sobre el recorrido transitado por los deseos y las formas transmutadas que asume en el mundo percibido, producto de su ineludible relación con lo otro y los otros. Se trata de un cine que expone estructuras y patrones que, desde el lenguaje y la estética, han condicionado los anhelos y pulsiones humanas, invitándonos a cuestionar el lugar que ocupa el deseo tanto frente como fuera de la cámara, explorando sus orígenes, el espacio normativo y disidente, la relación con el cuerpo, la moral, la censura y el papel del arte.
El Festival de Cine Lento es un festival de cine independiente, celebrado anualmente en Guadalajara (España) desde 2011, creado y gestionado por Contrapicado Films y El Rincón Lento.
Su objetivo es motivar la creación y el visionado de películas bajo la temática de “lentitud” o “vida lenta” (slow life), entendida como un cúmulo de acciones (respeto al Medio Ambiente y a las personas, consumo responsable, defensa de la cultura, decrecimiento, vida y ocio alternativo, cooperación, soberanía alimentaria, economía social…) que hacen que las personas mejoren su calidad de vida, controlen su tiempo y sean críticas con el actual sistema económico y social.
La 4º MUESTRA DE CINE QUEER es un reconocimiento anual no competitivo creado por la Cineteca Pública de Santander, para celebrar y destacar la obra de los y las profesionales del cine nacional e internacional, que visibilicen un carácter estético-político desde las diversidades sexuales y de género, con obras situadas al margen de los circuitos comerciales de exhibición, que generen encuentros culturales y sociales, consolidando procesos de organización y autorepresentación.
Todo cine es de autor. Cada película es dispositivo y el género ha acabado. La relación sexualidad-género-cuerpo nos envuelve de inagotables preguntas y reflexiones. Es por ello que en esta cuarta edición adoptamos la propuesta de explorar las diferentes posibilidades que ofrece esa relación en el ámbito audiovisual. #GENDERisOVER

This year 2018 in Nice at the festival we gave three deals to filmmakers to make there future productions of 100,000 dollars each, we will be allocating up to 5 a year in 2019/20 enter to get a chance at this budget
We have built a small but exceptional professional network of industry professional that will look at all films entered and will give business and commercial advice, in some cases the distributors attending will make offers to the filmmakers for their work and to work together to put your movies in the market place, we have the people and skills in our professional team to make this happen, if the professional attending feel there is a market for your movie, they will as with many films over the years of our other festival make it happen.

CineFoot - Festival Internacional de Cine de Fútbol es el primer festival de cine en Brasil y América Latina con enfoques curatoriales y conceptuales únicos sobre el fútbol. El evento tiene como objetivo la promoción, la difusión, la reflexión y la valoración de las películas de fútbol de todo el mundo.
ANTOFACINE, Festival Internacional de Cine de Antofagasta, Chile, se presenta como una instancia de encuentro de la creación cinematográfica nacional e internacional y es con ese objetivo que deseamos contribuir a:
● Difundir el cine de ficción, no ficción y animación como una herramienta de transformación cultural y social, beneficiando a todos los habitantes de la Región de Antofagasta, Chile.

El Festival Internacional de Cine de Oruro, tiene como sede principal la ciudad de Oruro en el Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia.
La ciudad es conocida por su riqueza cultural y su folklore, siendo su mayor expresión el Carnaval de Oruro, que cada año congrega a miles de visitantes nacionales e internacionales y en 2001 fue declarado "Obra Maestra del Patrimonio Oral e Intangible de la Humanidad" por la UNESCO, reconociendo así el valor multicultural y religioso que expresa.
El Festival, cuya duodécima edición se celebrará del 16 al 21 de noviembre de 2026, tiene como propósito reconocer y difundir las obras cinematográficas bolivianas e internacionales que muestren fuertes valores artísticos, estéticos y humanistas.

Afro Film Fest is an annual film festival that will take place in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia with the aim to make an impact on the development of the film sector in Ethiopia. Through showcasing local and international films, Workshop for local film makers and by giving awards to deserving ones. The event is organized by Afroasiatic Promotion & Event and Afro Century Events.
A seven days fest planned to screen fifty + one films in seven venues of different categories: Feature film, Short film, Documentary, TV series, TV show, TV commercial and Music video. Fantàstik Granollers es el festival de cine fantástico y de terror de Granollers, que se celebra desde 2012. Se ha convertido en un evento único en la ciudad, en el que se ofrece una propuesta cultural relacionada exclusivamente con el cine fantástico y de terror y todo lo relacionado con él, apostando con mucha fuerza por los cortometrajes.
Es una excelente oportunidad para que los amantes del cine vean películas innovadoras, así como para conectarse con otras personas interesadas en este tema.
Además del festival, durante el año se llevan a cabo otras actividades relacionadas con la difusión del cine fantástico y de terror.
DoKer fue creado hace 9 años para traer maravillosas películas documentales independientes de todo el mundo a la audiencia rusa y proporcionar una plataforma de discusión para autores, expertos y espectadores.
Los principios de DoKer son:
- Cuando decimos «película documental» ponemos el énfasis en «película».

La entrega de premios de la cuarta edición del NYCIFIF, se efectuará en octubre de 2023 en el emblemático espacio La Nacional de la gran ciudad de Nueva York.
El NYCIFIF es una extensión de los festivales de Balears «Films Infest» y «Shorts In-Fest» junto al apoyo de cineastas internacionales con el objetivo de convertirse en un gran festival internacional en la ciudad de Nueva York para la promoción exterior de nuestro cine.
La misión de NYCIFIF es mostrar el contenido de talentos cinematográficos emergentes y de grandes artistas españoles, iberoamericanos y de otros países del mundo en España, América Latina y de los EE. UU.
Se harán proyecciones de las mejores películas finalistas y promoción de las películas seleccionadas en varios circuitos alternativos.
Proyecto Rodar es una propuesta independiente que pretende visibilizar el audiovisual con relación al Skateboarding. Los Skaters producen constantemente contenidos multimedia con el fin de capturar y almacenar los trucos que se van aprendiendo. Aunque es una práctica común en los patinadores de todo el mundo, es indiscutible, que lo que se produce en cada territorio evidencia una identidad cultural y una estética en relación con su contexto. Este festival pretende reunir a los creadores, realizadores y skaters en torno a la práctica del audiovisual con el fin de expandir los horizontes de los videos de patinetas en Medellín. Ésta es nuestra intención principal, dejando claro, que no es el lucro o la promoción de los colectivos que diseñamos este proyecto, nuestra prioridad. Por eso, la entrada es libre pero con boleta. Es una Iniciativa de La Salsa Co en colaboración con Skategirl, Bowl Ratt y Choneto, todos nosotros representamos la cultural urbana de esta ciudad y en los últimos tres años hemos realizado diversos eventos artísticos, deportivos y culturales.
