En 1998 nace en Barcelona MECAL Pro, Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de Barcelona. Actualmente con 17 ediciones y el reconocimiento del programa Media Creativa de la Unión Europea, llega a Chile su cuarta edición.
El Festival tiene como objetivo ofrecer y crear en Chile una plataforma de Festival de Cortometrajes, que colabora con otros Festivales a nivel Europeo y Latinoamericano y sirve como vitrina a los realizadores Latinoamericanos para proyectarse al mercado Europeo. Mecal Chile es una oportunidad para el público chileno de ver un cine de calidad con toda la escena de vanguardia.
La programación Internacional de Mecal Chile está a cargo de Mecal Barcelona.
El Festival Mecal Chile es organizado y producido por la prestigiosa agencia de Arte y Cultura, Provoca Agency, cuya gestión compromete el desarrollo de un puente intercultural entre las ciudades de Barcelona y Santiago de Chile.

In March 2004 the 1st international short film festival for films by artists was held in Gstaad, Switzerland, with the ultimate prize being 'The Golden Cow of Gstaad'. For the organisers of Gstaad Film, the event was a great success: Many artists made use of the possibility to present their works at the festival & the quality of the program was high, attracting many films from Switzerland and entries from as far away as Argentina. The three days of the festival gave many possibilities for interesting contacts, not only for we the organisers, but also for a numerous and interested audience who were left excited, enthralled and enriched by the experience.
The positive reaction generated over the three-day period encouraged us to start organising a second festival. To improve the organisation and to give the participants/entrants more time, we decided to organise the festival in a two-year cycle, as a biennale.
El 9º Encuentro de Producciones Audiovisuales Alternativas y Comunitarias “La imagen de los Pueblos” (9noIP), es un Festival de Cine Alternativo y Comunitario de la zona norte del Ecuador que impulsa un proceso integral de creación, producción, difusión, promoción y socialización del conocimiento cinematográfico y audiovisual en los barrios, comunidades, ciudades, unidades educativas, universidades, organizaciones dónde la actividad cultural destinada al cine es nula o escasa y la gran mayoría de la gente no tiene acceso a los festivales y salas de cine.
El Encuentro es no competitivo, el interés es socializar las producciones audiovisuales en lugares excluidos del cine y el audiovisual con el fin de abrir espacios de sensibilización, reflexión y concienciación en los sectores comunitarios, unidades educativas, universidades, barrios y ciudades para recuperar los es- pacios públicos destinados al audiovisual en el Ecuador.
Se aceptarán trabajos producidos por creadores, realizadores, cineastas y documentalistas inde- pendientes y/o comunitarios, organizaciones, colectivos, televisoras locales y/o comunitarias, estudiantes universitarios y productoras sociales de Ecuador, de Latinoamérica y el mundo.
Podrán participar obras de diversos géneros como: documental, ficción, docu-ficción, experimental, animación, video-arte y otros géneros realizados en Ecuador, en Latinoamérica y en otros países del mundo.
Epic ACG fest is a unique event showcase animation, comics and games. Though screening, exhibition and competition, bring together the creative elements, the artists and the general public from worldwide.
During the festival, EACG is also hosting the Live Demonstrations, Networking Receptions, Master Workshops, Panel Discussions, Business Symposiums, Recruiting and the Professional Exhibits offered throughout the event as well as the One-On-One Personal Consultations with creative professionals from top studios and educational institutions both local and international. This is a short film festival for films 20 minutes or less in length.
This year, we are strongly encouraging entrants to submit a link to private YouTube or Vimeo screener not a hard-copy of the film. If you must submit a hardcopy please use a paper DVD sleeve. When packaging, protect the DVD in a padded envelope, or similar package. Please DO NOT send your dvd in a slim, jewel, or standard DVD case, they almost always break in shipping.
Please note that the ONLY difference in the early submission deadline versus the final submission deadline is the fee discount. The submission process and consideration by the Programming Committee is not affected by the date you submit your film as long as it is postmarked by our final deadline - your chances are equal regardless of the day your film makes it into our offices, as long as it is postmarked by the final deadline!
ALL films submitted to the festival are seen and scored by two or more different programmers. All films that have a higher average, or are a favorite of a programmer, go on to final deliberations. GeNerk selects its films by majority vote and nothing is offered early acceptance.
Film Submissions are non-returnable for any reason.
If a film is accepted, entrants will be solely responsible for delivering their exhibition video materials to and from the festival venue. Complete press kits will be needed as soon after notification as possible. GeNerk cannot be held liable for your exhibition print/video materials which are lost or damaged.

The APICA wishes to highlight island sensitivities from all over the world through their audiovisual and cinematic creations, by gathering them around a unique event: The International Festival of Short Fiction Films from the Islands of the World, Courts des îles.
From Java to Madagascar, from Iceland to New Zealand, from the Bahamas to Guadeloupe, from Hawaii to Tasmania… Courts des îles hopes to be an open window on island cultures, singular of pluralistic, a link between these young creators, directors from the islands of the world who tell us their stories.
Celebrating the islands of the world through a specific form of expression: short fiction films
A veritable journey around the world of island creativity: from Europe to Asia, from America to Oceania, and through Africa, Courts des îles is also a place of exchange and sharing for festival attendees, who will be able to contrast their experiences, their points of mutual interest, and their differences during workshops, round tables, and conferences organized around the themes of screenwriting, directing, and producing short fiction films.
Beyond the screening of short fiction films from the islands of the world, the Courts des îles Festival will give pride of place to a different island every year through the best short films that are produced there.

After a mini-hiatus, Short Com will be making it's return in 2019 in Edinburgh at the Cameo Cinema.
Short Com is a short comedy film festival that has grown from strength to strength from humble beginnings back in 2011, where it started in Manchester.
Short Com prides itself on the quality of its programme and the range of comedy stylings it has screened. The most emphatic thing we look for in a film is its content, its ability to make an audience laugh or smile. Short Com has screened films from BAFTA nominated films and multiple award winners to simple home made films that have warmed and vastly amused audiences.
Short Com has screened during the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, in London and for the first time in Bristol and finished its run and closed with its award ceremony at the Glasgow Short Film Festival. One of the largest short film festivals in the UK.
Why submit to Short Com? Short Com prides itself on the quality of its programme. There is a great deal of honour to selected filmmakers who make it to the annual best of screenings. Plus it will be taking place during the world's largest arts and culture festival. The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival has become the largest cinema event in Montana and the premiere venue for non-fiction film in the American West. In 2012, the festival drew an audience of 20,000 and received nearly 1000 film entries from every corner of the globe. The BSDFF offers a unique setting for filmmakers to premiere new work and for audiences to see innovative new films, as well as classics in the genre. The festival hosts over seventy-five visiting artists, and presents an average of 125 non-fiction films annually at the historic Wilma Theater, The Top Hat, and Crystal Theater in downtown Missoula. In 2013, BSDFF became a Academy Award qualifying festival in the SHORTS and MINI DOC categories.
The SubFilmFest aims to attract an Albanian, Mediterranean and Global audience from film, anthropology, marine culture and biology students as well as all parties with an interest in the Coastal Zone. Apart from an educational purpose the Festival aims at creating a pool of people that will eventually produce culture, research and creative products related to the Coastal Zone.
The festival will be primarily "anchored" in the Velipoja beach, in northern Albania from the 25th of July to the 29th of July. Velipoja is well known for its diverse landscape as well as the smell of iodine from it's curative sand, which makes it a unique beach in the Albanian Coast. Velipoje is also considered the place where the Albanian Coast begins. Because of the inmmense attention the southern beaches have acquired in the last decade, Velipoje could become its cultural counterpart in the northern area. The beach will be subjected to minimal changes for the accommodation of the festival with eco-friendly structures and interventions. Parallel to the screenings the film festival will include discussions and workshops as well as cultural, leisure and gastronomic events and purchasable services that will enrich the Coastal Zone experience.
This year the festival will not be a competitive festival just a showcase of works that deal with coastal and marine issues.

Objeto del Festival
FICAE - Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes y Arte sobre Enfermedades convoca la 4ª edición de (4FICAE) invitando a todos aquellos creadores audiovisuales que deseen dar a conocer sus cortometrajes de todo tipo de géneros cinematográficos cuya temática principal tenga relación directa con algún tipo de enfermedad y con el ámbito de la salud.
El objetivo de este Festival es fomentar la sensibilización y conciencia social sobre la enfermedad como proceso de vida, ayudando a la desestigmatización que muchas enfermedades siguen soportando. Por otro lado, este Festival, pretende estimular la creación artística a través del lenguaje audiovisual para dar una mayor visibilidad y transmitir conocimiento sobre las enfermedades, tanto las que suponen una alteración de la salud como las consideradas enfermedades sociales y sus consecuencias.
Fechas y sedes
El Festival tendrá lugar en diversas sedes de la ciudad de Valencia durante la última semana de febrero y primera semana de marzo de 2018.

El festival de todas las artes
Aunque el festival conserva el concurso de cine como su núcleo, ahora expande sus propósitos. A partir de este año NAU, será un festival multidisciplinar con exposiciones de otras artes. Los objetivos para las próximas ediciones serán tener más exposiciones, así como conferencias con sus autores.
Los objetivos de la Muestra de Cortometrajes “San Rafael en Corto” son la difusión, la divulgación y la proyección de obras cinematográficas, así como el conocimiento de éstas por parte del público asistente. Las obras que se presentan no optan a ningún premio ni galardón, sólo a la valoración del público asistente.
- Los cortometrajes presentados deben haber sido producidos entre 2021 y 2023.
- La duración no debe exceder de 20 minutos.
- Las obras no habladas en castellano deberán presentar subtítulos en dicho idioma.
- El tema de los cortometrajes será libre.
- Se aceptarán cortometrajes de ficción con imagen real, de animación, y de los géneros experimental y documental.

The Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival is launching its 9th annual celebration of bringing strong, independent documentary films and filmmakers to West Sonoma County. Screening 71 films in 4 days during the 2015 festival, with over 90 filmmakers and guests in attendance, we had another incredible weekend of films and intense documentary discussion. 2016 is already shaping up to be another great festival.
