An international film festival held in Birmingham, England, showcasing and recognising talent on a world stage.
It will run though November and include features, shorts, documentaries and music videos on our main theatre screen, as well support events with special guests.
All filmmakers who's work is being shown will 3 tickets for the screening of their own film.
Distributors, producers and press from all over the world will be on hand to view the films screened and there will be the chance to network with them at the festival too. Many of the industry’s top companies and film schools will also be in attendance offering advice on education and career opportunities.
Other events and networking opportunities will be announced closer to the date. These will include seminars, Q&As, conventions and memorabilia expos.
There will be a high calibre panel of special guest judges, from various areas of the industry, who will review the nominees’ entries and select the winners at the festival’s closing event. The award ceremony will be held at a high-profile venue in the city and be an open ticket event.

WHY THIS FESTIVAL ?
This festival is to be focused on this type of films. You will have specific recognition for the documentary you made, in a festival dedicated to documentaries.
Why is this so important ? Because sometimes, documentaries are just another category in some film festivals. We think documentaries deserve more attention, and we want to contribute giving it to them.
WHAT WILL BE OUR SELECTION ?
We will only select and screen short documentaries, not over 15 or 20 minutes maximum. If you made a full feature documentary, we will not be able to select it yet, but maybe in the years to come.
We are seeking for original documentaries, that can explore the world for us, bring some issues and analysis to the table, whether you shot it with a DSLR or a top 4K+ camera.
We accept all themes and langage. If not english speaking we require english subtitles.

A selection of the winners will screen on 2018, May 4th, in Los Angeles. The award give away will take place at the same time, on the evening.

The Medellín International Film Festival (FestMedallo) will celebrate its 2nd Edition from February 15 to 18, 2017 in Medellín, Colombia. This festival has as its mission to be a space for the projection and diffusion of films from all over the world; And is a platform for sponsors of the global film industry to select projects and directors to finance them. In its first edition 5 projects were chosen to be financed entirely by the private company. In addition, the Festmedallo is a showcase where personalities of Latin American cinema meet. For the second edition we have 6 venues where the selected films will be screened and we expect to have an audience of 7 thousand spectators.
The Music Video Underground is a monthly and annual worldwide competition for music videos, dance films, animated music videos, and other special stuff made music and video.
The festival is currently accepting submissions for its 13th edition (October 2017), and got hundreds of amazing artists to line up, including Adèle, Vanessa Paradis and Macy Gray.
The September edition is accepting entries (@12th edition) starting September 1st.
The next annual event and screening will take place in Los Angeles, on May 4th, 2018.

ACME Comedy Theatre was founded in 1989 as a place for comedians to perform and be discovered. Since then, ACME has helped launch the career of hundreds of comedy writers, directors, producers, and actors.
Today, ACME continues to be a place for comedy performers and writers to be discovered. These days though, new talent is more often discovered through online videos, so ACME developed a new screening series. The screening series is dedicated to bringing the upcoming stars of comedy video to the big screen via ACME Comedy’s own film festival.

Kan-Kan Media is pleased to announce the second edition of “A LONG WEEK OF SHORT FILMS FESTIVAL” Shanghai.
“A LONG WEEK OF SHORT FILMS FESTIVAL” is a unique film event that aims to bring together Chinese film and art institutions, film professionals, students and audience in Shanghai and create a platform to exchange and promote the diversity of the world cinema. During 10 days the festival will present more than 200 short films selected from more than 60 countries around the world.
“A LONG WEEK OF SHORT FILMS” Festival is the result of the collaboration between Kan-Kan Media and Chinese art and film institutions like Minsheng Museum of Contemporary Arts in Shanghai (official host of the Festival) and Shanghai Film Art Academy. It arises from the need to create a platform for a dialogue and exchange between film professionals, students, film communities and audiences taking as a reference point Shanghai/China.
The previous edition of LWSF was a huge success with more than 2000 submissions, 200 films selected and 10 days of film screenings, workshops, talks, music concerts and dance performances attended by 1000+ film-lovers, among them film professionals, students, film communities and artists of other disciplines.
This year the focus will be on the discovery of emerging talents both internationally and in China in order to bring them into the public spotlight and offer them the opportunities for networking and a platform where ideas and work can be exchanged among a new generation of film creators worldwide.
The festival has two main categories: International Section and Chinese Section, accompanied by showcases of outstanding festivals from various countries, as well as workshops, master-classes and other special events.
All the films meeting the submission criteria will be considered for the International Short Film Competition Award for Best Short Film, Best Director, Audience and Outstanding Story Award.

Shorts@Fringe is a showcase of short films at the Azores Fringe Festival, an international arts festival in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Program will happen in various islands from indoor to outdoor venues giving the opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their work in the Azores and also for audiences that otherwise would not have a chance to see this type of work. All type of shorts are welcome from 1 min to 15 minute long of English or Portuguese language or subtitled in one of those languages.

Women in Film
Women play an important role in filmmaking and there are many talents out there and to celebrate Women in Film we have two categories. One programme is a focus solely on Women directors, the second programme category will focus the work of women practitioners in the roles of writers, actresses, producers and Directors of Cinematography but please note the film lead roles must be female led. If you have a film that has a strong female led role or strong female writer etc and you want to be considered for this sectin of the festival please submit to the Women Practitioners category. Film Directors should submit to the Women in Film (directors category).
General Information.
Established in 1995 the festival is now in it's 16th International Shorts edition. Kinofilm has a unique reputation for showcasing the best short films from around the world, whilst being renowned for seeking out diverse, challenging and groundbreaking new films. We welcome filmmakers that are pushing the boundaries of the short film art form. The festival maintains a high standard with many European & International award-winning shorts featured in the Festival. It includes special programmes in North West Shorts (UK), British New Wave, Euro Cine, International Panorama, Kino Exposed (student and youth shorts), low/no budget shorts, Animation and various themed programmes, giving new and emerging filmmakers the opportunity to have their work screened alongside that of critically acclaimed, established short filmmakers.
Please note for 2019, the festival will move dates to February 2020. We will further welcome short films and animations from Eastern Europe as we extend the Polish festival to include more Baltic countries. This year we welcome films for this section from Romania and Russia.
As part of out 16th anniversary we are introducing a features section called Transitions for those short filmmakers that have successfully made the transition from short film to feature. This section is for previous entrants of Kinofilm Festival and can only be entered if you have previously had a short film at Kinofilm Festival. You must provide the name of the short film and year of the festival it was screened in advance of submitting..
All short films should have been completed since January 2018 to present and be no longer than 20 mins (accept documentaries which can be up to 23 mins including credits). PLEASE NOTE FILMS SHOULD NOT BE ONLINE FOR PUBLIC VIEWING. ANY FILMS THAT ARE SEEN TO BE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN WILL FACE DISQUALIFICATION.
WE ARE OFFERING STUDENTS (world wide) , GREATER MANCHESTER FILMMAKERS, Youths and community groups, Eastern European Filmmakers and Alumni Filmmakers 20% OF ALL SUBMISSION FEES (please see offers at the top of this entry). The discount is automatically applied when you submit your film to the relevant sections, entry fees start at just $10.00 Please note PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY MUST BE SHOWN in all these categories in advance of submitting the film, you will then receive a code to submit your film.
IRANIAN Filmmakers can submit for free (see above details).
Please note, if your film is selected for screening in one of the cinema screenings you must be able to provide either a DCP or high-quality Bluray of your film. Please contact us if any issues with this and we will try to resolve it by showing the film in one of the other programmes not requiring either of these formats. If it playing in one of our other venues then we will require a digital version, details supplied if your film is accepted.
REFUNDS GIVEN ONLY IN THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES: Please note if you make a genuine mistake and submit your film to us not realising that it does not fit all of the criteria, or you have to withdraw it for other reasons, we will refund your fee if the request is made only within the first two weeks from the date of submission. Films withdrawn later for other reasons such as you wish to withdraw it as your film has been accepted in another festival that requires premier status, will not receive a refund. (Please note that any refunds will be after FFW (8%) and PP (3.5%) commission fees already deducted from your fee, you will only be refunded the net amount that the festival receives).

Nos últimos anos, a SIFF organizou e realizou uma turnê mundial, levando o festival a destinos internacionais como Zurique, Londres, Hong Kong, Nova York, Santiago del Cile, Moscou, São Petersburgo, Oslo e muito mais, apresentando o evento “Best of the Fest”. Isso dá ao SIFF a oportunidade de mostrar alguns dos melhores filmes apresentados no Festival a um público internacional, em locais de prestígio, como Institutos Culturais Italianos no mundo e teatros de Cinema, aumentando a visibilidade e valorização de tais obras que lutam para encontrar uma distribuição canal.
O principal Festival Internacional de Cinema em Katmandu, Nepal. O Festival Internacional de Cinema de Direitos Humanos do Nepal está em andamento desde 2010. Este ano, o 12º Festival Internacional de Cinema de Direitos Humanos do Nepal será organizado de 4 a 8 de dezembro de 2025. O tema do festival deste ano é Direitos Coletivos.
Mais de 40 filmes selecionados de todo o mundo feitos sobre questões de direitos humanos serão exibidos durante o festival. Algumas exibições serão seguidas por uma discussão sobre o filme com os cineastas.
Os filmes serão exibidos nas seguintes seções:
- Seção de competição
Haverá uma seção de competição para filmes nepaleses e internacionais. Os filmes produzidos durante 2024-2025 serão elegíveis para participar desta seção. Os filmes precisam ser baseados em pelo menos um aspecto dos direitos humanos. Eles podem ser tanto ficção quanto documentários. Os filmes precisam cumprir todos os critérios estabelecidos pelo comitê organizador para serem elegíveis para a competição.
- Exibição especial
Filmes especiais que não preencheram todos os critérios da seção competitiva, mas são importantes para levantar as questões de direitos humanos, serão exibidos nesta seção. Esta seção também abordará esses filmes, que podem não querer competir na outra seção. Filmes de parceiros do NHRIFF, que estão qualificados para serem selecionados para o festival, mas não puderam participar da seção competitiva devido ao conflito de interesses, também serão exibidos nesta seção.
- Olhos do passado
Clássicos do passado, que tratam de questões de direitos humanos, serão exibidos nesta seção.
- Panorama dos parceiros
Esta seção exibirá os filmes produzidos por organizações parceiras do 13º Festival Internacional de Cinema de Direitos Humanos do Nepal. Esses filmes não serão reconhecidos como inscrições oficiais para o festival. Mas o festival fornecerá apenas uma plataforma para os parceiros mostrarem seus trabalhos.
