Inconvenient Films is an international competitive human rights documentary film festival, taking place in various cities and towns accross Lithuania. Established in 2007 as an annual film event, it is currently the biggest documentary film festival in the country and the only film festival of this kind in the Baltic States region. The festival invites filmmakers, experts, activists and festival audience to appreciate and discuss the role of documentaries in reflecting and shaping our understanding of reality. The mission of this festival is to use award winning author driven films in raising awareness about human rights issues around the world, encouraging public debate on ways to address them.
Festival’s International Competition is dedicated to the films by new filmmakers – their first or second feature documentary. Films are selected considering artistic value, filmmaking skills and revelation of a relevant human rights topic. The Best Film is selected and awarded by international jury.
Objeto del Festival
FICAE - Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes y Arte sobre Enfermedades convoca la 4ª edición de (4FICAE) invitando a todos aquellos creadores audiovisuales que deseen dar a conocer sus cortometrajes de todo tipo de géneros cinematográficos cuya temática principal tenga relación directa con algún tipo de enfermedad y con el ámbito de la salud.
El objetivo de este Festival es fomentar la sensibilización y conciencia social sobre la enfermedad como proceso de vida, ayudando a la desestigmatización que muchas enfermedades siguen soportando. Por otro lado, este Festival, pretende estimular la creación artística a través del lenguaje audiovisual para dar una mayor visibilidad y transmitir conocimiento sobre las enfermedades, tanto las que suponen una alteración de la salud como las consideradas enfermedades sociales y sus consecuencias.
Fechas y sedes
El Festival tendrá lugar en diversas sedes de la ciudad de Valencia durante la última semana de febrero y primera semana de marzo de 2018.
FICAE es una iniciativa de la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) y de la asociación VINCLES.
Las películas aceptadas serán cortometrajes, medianos y largometrajes producidos en vídeo digital; categorías de documental, ficción, experimental o animación; películas sobre deportes de montaña, aventura o expedición; películas que contribuyan al conocimiento y la protección del medio ambiente; películas sobre cultura de montaña o estilo de vida al aire libre.
MADTerrorFest nace con el propósito de cubrir el vacío que existe en Madrid en cuanto a los géneros del cine fantástico y de terror se refiere.
Hay mucho talento ya descubierto y sobre todo por descubrir. Así que nos hemos propuesto desenterrar todo ese potencial y ponerlo a disposición de los amantes de este tipo de cine, entre los que nos contamos nosotros por supuesto.
Queremos hacer un festival de cortometrajes que poco a poco dé lugar al Festival Internacional de Cine de Terror y Fantástico de Madrid, y se convierta en referencia dentro del panorama nacional e internacional.
Y por supuesto queremos que lo disfrutéis tanto como nosotros lo hacemos al prepararlo.
O mejor aún, que sufráis sin concesiones pegando botes como maníacos en vuestro asiento; sabemos que os encanta.

El Festival internacional de cine documental Globale - Bogotá invita a documentalistas y personas realizadoras audiovisuales a presentar propuestas que giren en torno a las luchas que resisten al fascismo.
Sobre el festival
Globale – Miradas críticas y emancipadoras es un festival sin ánimo de lucro y no competitivo para difundir documentales con temas políticos y sociales. El festival nació en Berlín en 2003 y posteriormente fue replicado en Varsovia, Montevideo, Río de Janeiro y Bogotá, donde se realiza desde el 2011.
Su objetivo es generar escenarios de denuncia, diálogo, sensibilización y análisis de la realidad a partir de las temáticas que se establecen para cada versión. Así, se dirige a propuestas para la transformación de los modelos culturales, sociales y económicos establecidos. Para ellos recurrimos al documental sin jerarquía de formatos, medios, soportes, calidades, validaciones académicas o industriales.
Sobre esta versión
Mientras gran parte del mundo presencia inmutable los genocidios en Sudán, en el Congo, en Gaza; los encarcelamientos masivos que hacinan cada vez más las prisiones; las deportaciones diseñadas para destruir y debilitar las comunidades; las políticas del odio que niegan la existencia de las personas trans y perpetúan el racismo estructural. Mientras el capitalismo se sigue fortaleciendo desde sus bases patriarcales, racistas, capacitistas y cisheteronormadas, quienes nos rehusamos a participar del espectáculo de muerte que nos ofrecen continuamos fortaleciendo
nuestras redes de resistencia y solidaridad.
Queremos celebrar las estrategias y herramientas que nos permiten resistir al mundo que la derecha nos impone a fuerza de mentiras y promesas de cambio. Por eso en la versión XIII del Festival Globale Bogotá, que celebraremos en 2026, les invitamos a compartirnos documentales que analicen las estructuras de opresión en las que vivimos, que reflexionen en torno a las violencias sistemáticas y que abran debates y conversaciones para entenderlas y combatirlas.
Experiencias que nos permitan ver y recordar que somos muchas personas en el mundo que aún buscamos vivir en comunidad y que luchamos constantemente por transformar la violencia y el temor que poco a poco va imponiéndose en todos los espacios y sociedades. Les invitamos a enviarnos documentales que muestren experiencias de vida rebeldes, colectivas, anticapitalistas, luchas cotidianas e históricas. Para que no se nos olvide que aún en el pavimento logra crecer la hierba, para que estas otras experiencias nos inspiren y motiven a la acción.

Our festival curates conversations around the often contentious topics of faith, gender, and sexuality, using art and film as a way of creating dialogue, not division.
We seek to have discussions about the intersections of religious belief, LGBT identity, and a variety of related topics -- using art as a means of launching into a civil conversation.
We have a main festival every year in Pasadena as well as regular screenings, events, and road show festivals throughout the country, especially in Nashville.

El festival de cine Everyday Arias está especializado en equivalentes de ópera y teatro mundial en formato de cortometraje. Damos la bienvenida a los inscripciones etrajes que duran no más de 20 minutos centrándose en un aria o en un aspecto particular de una ópera de cualquier época y tradición, por ejemplo, ópera china, noh, kathakali, etc.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Providence Children’s Film Festival (PCFF) presents the best of independent and international children’s cinema to inspire, delight, educate and connect a diverse community of children and families from Rhode Island and throughout New England. Our annual Festival brings the world to our children and our community through important films made from extraordinary, often unrecognized filmmakers from all over the globe. Each year we search for films appropriate for youth and children with interesting stories, that offers wisdom and multiple cultural perspectives and connections across all ages. Through our thoughtfully selected films, we hope to demonstrate the artistry and craft of filmmaking and provide opportunities to discuss the stories, people and connections from near and afar.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Now in its ninth year, the Providence Children’s Film Festival enhances and energizes the local arts and cultural community and has become of one the most highly anticipated family events of the year. The annual Festival takes place in February at multiple venues within walking distance of downtown Providence, with over ten days of screenings, filmmaking workshops, and free activities, along with post-film conversations that help deepen the film-watching experience and foster critical thinking skills. During the Festival, PCFF screens an average of 16 feature length films along with over 100 short films, including live-action, documentary, and animation made by filmmakers from around the world. Beginning in 2014, PCFF added the Youth Filmmaker Showcase, a juried program of films made by youth, followed by an opportunity for young filmmakers to talk about both the fun and the challenges they face during the creative process.

In addition to the annual festival, PCFF presents films of the same high quality and film-related educational programming throughout the year. Children and families can learn about the history of the medium and its critical context, as well as the craft of filmmaking; through media literacy programs, hands-on workshops, and filmmaker presentations. We proudly collaborate with community organizations such as RISD Museum, Providence Children’s Museum, AS220, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence, Providence CityArts, Rhode Island Museum of Science and Arts (RIMOSA), Providence Athenaeum Children’s Library, Providence Community Library, Media Smart Libraries Project, and the Rhode Island Office of Information and Services.
CRITERIA
The PCFF selection committee seeks films with content that speaks positively to children, teens and families from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. Please consider submitting if you have created work that can speak to all, including children. We seek films that are entertaining and/or challenging to young minds with serious, true-to-life topics and narratives that may span a range of emotions. The film need not have a "story-book" ending to find a place in our festival. PCFF welcomes foreign films with subtitles, documentaries, live action, animation and even experimental films that may inspire our viewers to think about the world in a new way.
SELECTION
The Director of Programming will make selections along with the Festival jury composed of educators, filmmakers, parents and children. PCFF takes pride in bringing children into the selection process; as a member of the PCFF Junior Jury, youth have a voice from beginning to end, taking part in final film selections, festival programming, and award distributions. PCFF will email all entrants no later than January 7, 2017, whether or not films have been selected for the festival. Preview DVDs, thumb drives, and related materials of all films submitted for consideration will NOT be returned unless submission includes a prepaid, self-addressed, stamped envelope.
SPECIAL EVENTS
In addition to our Opening Night Party and final Awards Presentation Event, PCFF hosts a Filmmaker Soiree’ during the festival. No box juices or Goldfish crackers here. The Soiree is a private, low-key and relaxing get together with our star filmmakers and some of our festival devotee's. In between bites you may meet some filmmakers who have films in this year's festival or share a drink with one of our invited Reel Connection speakers. You will certainly meet many of the people who helped create and support this year's festival.
YOUTH FILMMAKER SHOWCASE (YFS)
PCFF is committed to nurturing the work of young “amateur” filmmakers (age 17 and under) and so is proud to present a juried program of films all made by youth—from our local community and around the world—and to provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to talk about both the fun and the challenges they face during the creative process. This exciting screening is designed to encourage talented and committed up-and-coming young filmmakers, and to inspire those who are just thinking about it. Young filmmakers may apply as an individual or as a team. (e.g. Youth organizations, film clubs, etc.).

We are a festival run by Filmmakers, Professors of Film and Film Fans for Filmmakers, Film Students and Film Fans at all levels of expertise. This is a festival where recognition is generous and you are the Star no matter what role you played or how many roles you assumed, everyone is treated like a Rock Star. We roll out the red carpet for your premiere, allow time for Q & A following the screening, or the block of films if you are in the shorts category. We hold live readings of your screenplay with professional actors with you directing.
If you have special skills, you may be invited to moderate a panel or participate as a panelist. Festival Alumni also serve as Awards Presenters during the Bonehead Awards Gala.

El Grand Rapids Feminist Film Festival (GRFFF) es una celebración dedicada a elevar voces y mostrar talentos de grupos históricamente insuficientemente representados en los medios de comunicación convencionales.
Nuestra misión es:
● Dar a conocer la falta de representación diversa delante y detrás de la cámara
● Inspirar y empoderar a los creadores de medios de comunicación de grupos subrepresentados y marginados para que participen en el cine como un acto feminista
● Examinar los medios de comunicación a través de la intersección Lentes de género, sexualidad, raza, capacidad, clase, edad, etc.
● Cultivar un espacio seguro y acogedor que fomente la comprensión intercultural
Ahora, en su sexto año, el GRFFF fue originalmente la creación de la editorial independiente The Bandit Zine como una versión cinematográfica de su revista. Lo que comenzó como un pequeño escaparate nocturno se ha convertido en un festival de todo el día que incluye talleres interactivos y paneles, actuaciones de artistas locales y películas proyectadas de todo el mundo.

The Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival to be from October 7, 8, and 9th, 2016 at the Cinemark Theater in Carson, California.
The Mission of the Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival (LAPIFF) is to work for the advancement, development and to showcase Filipino Filmmakers/Artists around the world through film, providing the global community of entertainment professionals and film goers with consistent annual screening events and workshops. LAPIFF provides charitable scholarships and a forum where Filipino Filmmakers/Artists can be recognized for their gifts, have open discussions about their movies and connect with industry professionals for understanding on production, distribution, representation and acquirement.
We project around 5000 to 7000 participants in the LAPIFF and the event will be covered by international television channels, local newspapers and the local cable stations subscribed to by the Filipino American community based in Los Angeles as well as across the United States.
ELIGIBILITY:
The Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival accepts films and media works that are made by OR about FILIPINOS of any nationality (i.e. those who are of FILIPINO ancestry whose citizenship is that of another country). If film is spoken in a Filipino Dialect, Tagalog, or Other Foreign Language, subtitles in English must be shown on the screen. All films from diverse ethnicities, nationalities, lengths and genres will be considered.
Feature Film duration: 80 to 150 minutes maximum
Short Film duration: 30 minutes maximum
