Bašta Fest is an international short fiction film festival held in Bajina Bašta, Western Serbia. It is an annual event that is taking place during the first weekend of July and it lasts for four days. Due to the profession of the founders (actors Jovan Jelisavčić and Maja Šuša), the festival's main point of interest is a collaboration between directors and actors. We believe that focusing on the quality of that joint artistic effort will have a positive impact on the positioning of Bašta Fest among short film festivals. Bašta Fest is of great importance for the decentralization of culture since it has brought diverse film, music and off program to this beautiful region. One of the priorities of the festival is to promote the incredible natural beauty to a large number of visitors. Nevertheless, our primary goal is to convert this festival into an exciting cultural oasis, which supports local and international young artists, putting emphasis on short fiction films with authenticity. The main selection is a competition short film program, while two films are screened as a part of non-competition, special program every year - one during the opening and one during the closing ceremony. The last to be screened is a Serbian debut feature film, chosen by Bašta fest team as the most successful one in the previous year. The entrance to all screenings at Bašta is free of charge, while they are always being held under the open night skies. There are currently two official festival locations: Borići park and lake Perućac.

We are a festival that emphatically promotes independent social cinema, that cinema that tells stories of people, places, conditions and situations common to the bulk of humanity. In other words, stories of flesh and blood, sensitive and true.

On the other hand, we are convinced that cinema is the most important tool of social and cultural transformation in the world; and that festivals are alternative media and windows of exhibition, whose specific function is the dynamic interaction with the target audience, in order to reach levels of deep awareness for those spectators.

Therefore, we want to introduce ourselves to you, filmmakers, in a formal and honest way, pretending to be considered a bridge between those who see, interpret and shape reality in a different way and the inhabitants of our region; a region located in Colombia, which urgently needs to hear messages of social and cultural hope through art, in order to achieve inner peace and radical changes in their lives.

Indy Film Fest exists to celebrate the art of cinema and to create a shared experience around film in Indianapolis. We are a non-profit, international, independent film festival programming both features and shorts. Our all-volunteer staff strives to bring the best films the industry has to offer to our community from home and abroad. Our programmers aim to foster new talent and help filmmakers connect with the global industry. We are also dedicated to educating and developing audiences for international and independent cinema in Indy, screening the kind of innovative, visionary work that may not normally achieve distribution in this area.

Indy Film Fest is looking for the best independent features and shorts no matter the category or genre including: live action, animated, drama, comedy, narrative, documentary, horror, sci-fi, and experimental. Our 10-day annual festival typically programs 30 features and 110 short films, usually with over 90% from submissions.

COVID-19: Due to the pandemic our 2020 festival was postponed to August and was held mostly online plus one drive-in double-feature. Our 18th festival will be held in April of 2021, and if public health considerations and other circumstances allow we hope to hold many in-person screenings possibly combined with online screenings. Since we cannot be certain exactly what format the festival will take in 2021, we will keep all submitters up to date on our plans and if they are not satisfactory for you we will let you submit to a future festival at no charge.

Always growing and adapting, the Indy Film Fest began as the three-day Indianapolis International Film Festival in 2004. We quickly expanded to our current 10-day format in 2006, moved our festivities to the summer in 2009, changed our name to the Indy Film Fest in 2014, and since 2018 have been back home to our original spring timeframe.

Alumni of the Indy Film Fest (and Indianapolis International Film Festival) are eligible for a reasonable number of free submissions. Films with significant ties to Indiana are eligible for drastically reduced submission fees. Examples of eligibility include the director or writer being a current Indiana resident or native, or the film being primarily shot within Indiana. Please contact submissions@indyfilmfest.org to see if you are eligible for either of these opportunities.

NOTE: This festival is still taking place each week despite the COVID-19 virus. All festival dates have been relegated to private screenings with the same Audience FEEDBACK videos made for the short films.

The Experimental Film, Dance and Music Festival now runs EVERY SINGLE MONTH - Due to the popularity of the genre, films and festival screening. So submit your work and get it showcased at the FEEDBACK Festival.

Festival occurs in two cities: At the Carlton Cinemas in downtown Toronto, Canada, and at the LA LIVE Regal Cinemas in downtown Los Angeles, USA.

The goal of this festival is to showcase the best of new experimental short films and independent music videos from around the world. Films that don’t get a fair shake from other film festivals because programmers don’t know where to “categorize” these films. There isn’t a typical linear story occurring so most festivals can’t truly understand the talent and beauty around these films.

We want to showcase films that showcase true originality and talent from filmmakers from every corner of the globe. And also showcase new musicians who have made a music video and want it to be shown.
