MISSION & OBJECTIVE
New Hope Film Festival is especially interested in discovering and nurturing talented but underappreciated filmmakers from around the globe.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The 16th Edition New Hope Film Festival will take place from August 16-25, 2027. A hybrid festival with a combination of physical and virtual events, the New Hope Film Festival offers currently rare opportunities for in-person networking and audience interaction. The Festival owns and uses first class audio-video components for screenings, with 4K laser projection, reference-level surround sound processing and other high quality, carefully-selected components. All films are screened in physical, in-person events except under rare circumstances beyond our control, such as a pandemic or a problem with a venue. There will be a virtual networking event and a virtual awards ceremony, and both can be attended from anywhere that has an internet connection. The festival does not plan to host virtual screenings at this time. However, a limited number of virtual screenings may be offered with prior approval of the filmmaker and festival organizers. Any virtual screenings would employ state-of-the-art security, including DRM Encryption, a 7-day limitation for viewing and optional geo-blocking. Virtual screenings do not include live streaming events.
About the Festival
Touted as the "emerging 'Sundance East'" in a Huffington Post article, this internationally respected indie fest was founded by D. F. Whipple, an author, entrepreneur and long-time resident of the New Hope area. A former child actor who once had the lead role in The Big Yellow Fellow, one of the highest grossing educational films in American history, Whipple formed the New Hope Film Festival with a group of artists who shared his passion for discovering and nurturing independent artists, especially those who’ve been overlooked by established festivals. This includes international films, which the Festival is eager to attract.
What Makes the Festival Different
Every film submitted is watched with a keen perspective on quality and artistic expression. Artistic standards are extremely high, but neither budget nor prior notoriety is a determining factor—the art must shine through. This all-inclusive approach brings significant prestige, variety and unpredictability to the festival's annual lineup.
The organization's strong publicity and marketing program included an annual awards announcement in Variety until the dailies went out of print, as well as press coverage in mainstream outlets such as NBC, ABC, The Huffington Post, The Times of India and more. Mainstream and alternative news media press continues to be an area of focus, making this cutting-edge and growing festival a powerful bridge between indie obscurity and wider recognition.
The Location
Over the years, New Hope has attracted and been home to many talented producers, screenwriters, actors, playwrights, and performance art enthusiasts. Home of the Bucks County Playhouse, where actors such as John Travolta, George C. Scott, Robert Redford, Helen Hayes, Andrea McArdle and Colleen Dewhurst have graced the stage, the village is centrally located less than an hour from Philadelphia and an hour and a half from New York.

"Hamilton NY IFF was lovely. Great hospitality and charming town to get away to for the weekend. Grant, Joe, and the rest of the team are so generous and kind; they even let me sneak in a test of the film in the theatre to make sure it was just right. Overall, such a lovely and charming weekend and great slate of films to be a part of! Can't wait to submit more work here in the future!"
-Richard Spitaletta, Writer, Producer, Dropped
"Such a wonderful festival to be part of. They treated the guests and filmmakers so well. The communication was great throughout the process. Everyone involved was so welcoming and hospitable. The audience really engaged with the films and filmmakers splendidly. I learned so much through networking and participating in Q&A's. The selections of films was really strong and captivating., so if your film gets in, know you'll be in good company. Hamilton and the surrounding area are gorgeous in the summertime. Attend this festival if you can!"
- Xavier Michael Griffiths, Writer/Director B-Box
"This is such a fantastic festival. Grant and his team are so welcoming and really put on a great week of film and networking opportunities. The Q&A and director's panel were awesome and it was great to meet so many other filmmakers in beautiful Hamilton, NY. Highly recommend!"
-Will Dorney, Writer/Director Vic's Vac Shack
"One of the best festival I attended last year by far- it is in upstate NY in a beautiful area and the old theater your film is screened in is so cool on such a cute street in the heart of town. The festival organizer is incredible, he creates so many opportunities to mingle with other filmmakers in really fun local settings (we had BBQ in his backyard for one networking event a few blocks from the theater and it was a really special way to get to know the neighborhood and fellow filmmakers)."

The first Zacatlán International Film Festival, in one of Mexico's most beautiful magical towns, invites all filmmakers interested in sharing their creations with us—and, why not, stay and film? We'll be hosting screenings of submitted works in movie theaters, film clubs, art galleries, and schools.
About the festival
If we had to define Facom Fest in a single phrase, as a tagline, it would be: “A Galician festival for students”. This leaves us with two main focuses of interest: on the one hand, our unwavering commitment to promoting Galician projects; and, on the other hand, the emphasis on “students”. Unlike previous editions, this 4th edition aims to give visibility not only to works created by Galician students, but also by students from any region of the world. We believe that our condition as students is vital for establishing dialogues and debates, identifying common or divergent points, and above all, learning. Even though we are still in training, this international initiative aspires to give us the ability to teach — this time, we, the global student body, to our peers. To share experiences, visions, techniques, and, who knows, perhaps contacts. Following the spirit of previous editions, we understand that many works created during one’s academic formation deserve to have a life of their own — to be seen, discussed, and to reach beyond borders, which often seems difficult when entering the professional world.
Thus, in this new edition we offer the opportunity for all students currently enrolled, or who have completed their studies in the previous year, in any university or educational institution at any level, anywhere in the world, to submit their works to the festival.
This new edition, Facom Fest 2025, will take place from November 24th to 27th, 2025, in Santiago de Compostela.
**This is not just another film festival. This is a statement.**
The Berlin International Underground Film Festival (BIUFF) is a movement, launching with a clear and powerful mission: to build a **true ecosystem** of support for independent and defiant voices. We are not here to sell awards; we are here to **discover talent and build futures**.
**Our Mission: Discovered in Berlin**
We are based in Berlin, a city where art sprouts from concrete and defiance is in its DNA, because we believe that true cinema is not manufactured—it is **discovered**. BIUFF is a global platform for all independent creators—filmmakers, screenwriters, and photographers who dare to be different. We are looking for personal stories, bold perspectives, and artistic honesty.
**The "4U" Philosophy**
At the heart of our festival lies an award that transcends all categories: **The Grand Prize, our "4U" Trophy**. This ultimate honor is bestowed upon only one work per edition that powerfully embodies all four of our foundational principles:
- **Uncensored**
- **Uncompromising**
- **Unconventional**
- **Unbound**
**Our Model: Hybrid & Supportive**
BIUFF is more than just a competition; it is a **hybrid festival** and a true connection point. While our initial judging is conducted online, the journey culminates in a **live screening and awards event in the heart of Berlin**.
And in our deep commitment to supporting you, we've simplified the process: **with one single entry, your project is automatically considered for all relevant awards.** This is your chance to connect with a network of like-minded professionals from around the globe, supported by the Kariz Creative Hub.
**Honoring the Unsung Heroes**
Finally, we proudly honor the true architects of defiant cinema. For the first time, a major international award will be dedicated to the **Line Producers and Production Managers** who, with the art of resistance, make the impossible possible.
In a digital landscape saturated with soulless competitions and hollow laurels, we rise on a different foundation: **authenticity**.
**Join us. Submit your work to the beating heart of European independent cinema and show your voice to the world.**

This festival is a celebration of a rising Zimbabwe and a gateway to the soul of Southern Africa—a nation and a region reclaiming their place as leaders in conservation and home to the planet's most unparalleled safari experiences.
We believe in the power of story to reshape perceptions and fuel a future where wildlife and communities thrive together.
