The FINCALI Project is developed by the Nodal Management Foundation (Cali - Colombia) and its purpose is to promote and encourage environmental education through audiovisual media and information and communication technologies. FINCALI is made up of 3 major strategies: a biannual Environmental Film Festival with a national and international competitive framework https://festivalfincali.com/, a regional Tour that, in the intervening year between each Festival, decentralizes and circulates the best selection of films and training activities from the latest edition by various municipalities in the Colombian Pacific region, and as a third strategy, a digital environmental film platform, Screen Green https://pantallaverde.org/, which offers the community Spanish-speaking a wide catalog of environmental films to multiply the impact of the project through online cinema.
6th FINCALI #CosechandoHistorias
The 6th edition of the Cali International Environmental Film Festival - FINCALI will take place from September 3 to 11, 2025 in the city of Cali - Colombia, meeting again in this audiovisual and cultural celebration for the environment and climate action.
This year we identify ourselves with the slogan "Harvesting Stories" that celebrates the diversity of perspectives that enrich our understanding of the world, collecting and sharing the narratives that connect us with the planet and with ourselves. We hope to generate reflections on the interconnection between personal stories and the environment as a permanent setting in our lives, leading us to collective and individual actions for the care of our environment. "Harvesting Stories" is an open call for audiovisual narratives and environmental education.
Participate in the festival with your audiovisual piece. Create a video in the format of TikTok, a reel, a YouTube shot with a free theme but including some kind of reference to retro audiovisual culture (movies, songs, culture from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s).
Another period will be open to the general public between December 17 and February 1, 2025.
A meeting point for film fans, film industry professionals and audiovisual dissemination professionals that aims to share knowledge and generate synergies between all those interested in cinema and audiovisual production from the second half of the 20th century (especially B-series and genre films) but also, and with special emphasis, on current productions that draw on the sources of retro and cult cinema from the 60s onwards.
The Río Negro International Social Film Festival is an audiovisual festival that aims to promote cinema within the country and abroad. The Render Festival is a space that was created in the classroom, with the aim of strengthening and promoting spaces for training, creation, and film exhibition that allow students from different regions of Peru to develop their skills in the audiovisual profession.
For the seventh edition, the festival addresses a historical moment in which every day new possibilities and threats emerge, Does the future cause us fear or excitement? We want to explore what cinema has to say about the lurking crises: ecological, economic and political. And about the new possible paths. How does technological innovation transform the way we create, watch and consume moving images?
In a society where technological changes and revolution is already part of the global daily life, we propose a critical look at it, through young filmmakers. How the process of creation changes as a result of a galloping technology is the perspective that will redirect us. This call is aimed at filmmakers who are currently studying at universities or other schools or institutions of higher education in any country.
Consequently, as part of the activities of the festival, which will be carried out through the present, we open the call for our international short film competition, which consists of 3 categories that we will explain in the following section. We have also opened a competition called “Latin American Opera primas”, whose call for entries will begin on December 9, 2024.
