Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival is an annual event held in Alexandria, Egypt. It aims to disseminate film culture and the progress achieved in various branches of film art and to strength the relations among filmmakers throughout the world in general and Mediterranean countries in particular.

Competitions
1: Long Film Competition of Mediterranean countries.
Long narratives and Long documentaries are accepted.

Rules of the official competition:
1- All entries must be long films produced wholly or partially by a Mediterranean country during the years of 2015 or 2016.
2- Films must not have been screened commercially in Egyptian cinemas prior to the festival period.
3- Participating films must have English subtitles

1. Best Film.
2. Special Jury Prize.
3. Best Director.
4. Best Screenplay.
5. Best Actor.
6. Best Actress.
7. Best Artistic Achievement.
8. Best first or second work of director

2 : Short Film Competition of Mediterranean countries
Short narratives and short documentaries are accepted.
Rules:
1- Short narrative’s runtime must not exceed 30 minutes.
2- Short documentary’s runtime must not exceed 30 minutes.

Awards:
1. Best Short Narrative Film
2. Best Short Documentary Film
3. Special Jury Prize (Awarded to either a Short Narrative or Documentary)
3 :Arab Long Film Competition
Long narratives are accepted.

Rules of the competition:
1- All entries must be long films produced wholly or partially by Arab countries during the years of 2015 or 2016.
2- Films must not have been screened commercially in Egyptian cinemas prior to the festival period.

5 : Arab Short Film Competition
Arab Short narratives and short documentaries are accepted.
Rules:
1. Arab Short Narrative’s runtime must not exceed 30 minutes.
2. Arab Short Documentary, runtime must not exceed 30 minutes.

Awards:
4. Best Arabic Short Narrative
5. Best Arabic Short Documentary
6. Special Jury Prize (Awarded to either an Arab Short Narrative or Documentary)

6: Mohammed Bayoumi Competition for Short films by Alexandrian Youth Filmmakers

Rules:
1. The competition include: short narratives and short documentaries.
2. This competition is restricted to Alexandrian youth filmmakers.
3. Short feature film runtime, must be not exceeds 30 minutes.
4. Short documentary film runtime, must be not exceeds 30 minutes.
5. The festival department may surpass on the runtime of any film in some cases

Awards:
1. Best Short narratives Film.
2. Best Documentary Short Film.
3. Special Jury Prize (awarded to either narrative or documentary)
