Located in the heart of Cajun country, the annual eight-day Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival is an international, juried film festival dedicated to presenting narrative, documentary, animated and experimental films and filmmakers with truly original voices in one of the friendliest, most unique cultures in the world. COTB is also committed to promoting both established and emerging filmmakers and the relationship-building that is crucial to their continued work. The dedication and commitment of COTB in this regard continue regardless of the pandemic -- we will have a juried 2021 Festival whether in person or, if necessary, on line.

Cinema on the Bayou, Louisiana's second oldest film festival, was founded in 2006 in Lafayette, Louisiana, by filmmaker Pat Mire after Hurricane Katrina caused the cancellation of the New Orleans Film Festival in the fall of 2005. Pat was contacted by the National Film Board of Canada, which offered a U.S. premiere of the documentary MAROON, by famed Quebecois filmmaker Andre Gladu, which was originally scheduled to premiere in New Orleans. Cinema on the Bayou was launched in response, and Gladu and his film opened the inaugural Festival. Pat continues to serve as Artistic Director of the Festival.

Since 2006, Cinema on the Bayou has presented hundreds of internationally acclaimed documentary, narrative fiction, animated and experimental films, with filmmakers in attendance from across the United States and around the world. The Festival is now unique among film festivals in the U.S. in that it also regularly screens a large number of French-language independent films and presents filmmakers from throughout the Francophone world. The Festival also has the distinction among film festivals of having given the Audience Award to Moonbot Studio's animated film THE FANTASTIC FLYING BOOKS OF MR. MORRIS LESSMORE one year before the film was nominated for and won an Academy Award in the animated short category.

In 2010, the Festival screened nearly 200 films which were chosen as Official Selections from a pool of more than 1,200 submissions. The vast majority of the films chosen were World, U.S. or Louisiana Premieres. Included within the official selections were more than 60 French-language films. In addition to screening films from across the United States, the Festival also screened films from Canada, France, Japan, Australia, the U.K., Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Slovenia, Haiti and Argentina. More than 200 filmmakers, actors, musicians and other industry professionals attended from Paris, London, Tokyo, Berlin, Hamburg, Madrid, Sydney, Denmark, Haiti, Los Angeles, New York, Tampa, Memphis, Nashville, Austin, Houston, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, New Mexico, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Baltimore, Kansas City, Toronto, Ontario, Calgary, Moncton, Nova Scotia and a large group from the Quebec Provence, including Montréal, Québec City
and Gaspésie. Representatives from Festival international du cinéma francophone en Acadie (FICFA), Le Festival de cinema de la ville de Québec (FCVQ) and Le Festival international de cinema et d’art de Percé, Les Percéides, were in attendance. The Festival awarded 35 goujon caille (spotted catfish) awards.

Cinema on the Bayou has been selected as the Editors' Choice for "goings-on in the South and beyond" by Garden and Gun Magazine. Describing our Cajun Country setting as a "stew of French, Spanish, and African influences," the Editors concluded that it was an ideal spot for Cinema on the Bayou, an international film festival "charged with exposing attendees to the most original voices in film while fostering cultural exchange among the French-speaking peoples of the world."

Cinema on the Bayou also made the list of the Top 15 Winter Film Festivals in the U.S. by AudNews, an on-line magazine for filmmakers and film lovers.

Over the years, the Festival also has earned the respect of its many loyal filmmaker alums who come from around the world to share in the joie de vivre that defines the culture here. It says a lot about the festival that these highly talented independent filmmakers not only make repeat visits to Cinema on the Bayou, but also recommend the Festival to their filmmaker colleagues.

Cinema on the Bayou also has partnered with several independent film distribution companies in the United States and Canada, whose representatives attend the Festival, in order to facilitate relationships designed to provide opportunities for filmmakers to reach wider, more diverse audiences.

The Festival is committed to creating these essential connections amid exquisite Cajun cuisine, amazing local music performances, and thought-provoking discussions, both on expert panels and at after-hours parties, about all that is near and dear to that creature known as the independent filmmaker.

Wallachia International Film Festival is a highly professional, industry connected film festival, an exclusive “Plein Air Natural Film Affair” – the only independent grassroots film festival taking place in an exquisite natural location in the immemorial Wallachian Plain!

We won multiple cinema prizes including important awards at major film festivals, like Cannes, Locarno, Montreal, London, Milan, Miami and Atlanta. Also, our advertising work received accolades at Clio, Effie, In-Awe, Lion Awards, ANDY Awards and Ad’Or, while working for companies like Coca-Cola, UNICEF, McDonalds, Renault, Yahoo! and Nestlé-Purina.

But there’s nothing we love more than indulging ourselves with cinematic candies from all over the world, under the autumn night sky of Wallachia. We will be arguing for a long time about which ones we feel are the best, and about the most promising unproduced screenplays.

Welcome to Wallachia, the Legendary Land of Voivode Vlad III Dracula, universally known as Vlad the Impaler. Born in 1431, Vlad was an authoritarian Principe, he revolutionized the affairs of Wallachia and refused to pay tribute to the sultan Mehmed II, resulting in a bloody war with the Ottomans. Multiple works containing stories about Vlad's cruelty were published soon after his assassination in 1475. In 1897, Bram Stoker downgrades Prince Vlad to Count Dracula, a blood-sucking vampire inspired by Wallachian ancient folklore. Loosely based on the book, Dracula (1931) casts immortal Bela Lugosi as the doomed romantic Count.

Think cinétopia! Feel hundreds of years of mythic Wallachian history under the night sky! It’s a 100% natural film affair!

We watch all movies, we read all screenplays and we select exclusively based on artistic merits. Networking doesn’t work on us. Only art.

CINE NO VISTO
International low-budget independent film festival

PRESENTATION
Festival de Cine no Visto has the main objective of giving visibility to those independent and low or no budget productions which, for different reasons, don’t reach the major public and whose only option for a greater recognition is found in festivals.

The organization of the Festival de Cine no Visto is aware of the great effort that producers have to endure in order to carry out a project with very limited means. Technical aspects are for us just another element in the process, so the main reasons to be selected will not depend on the means used. We are much more interested in what is told and the symbolism in each shot.
We are undoubtedly going to consider all and each of the aspects: performance, editing, cinematography, music, screenplay, to sum up, everything necessary in the production of an audiovisual project.

Festival of Cinema NYC, New York City's fast growing film festival enters its fourth year in 2020! Beginning the first Friday of August, this year Festival of Cinema NYC will run from August 7 - 16th.

Festival of Cinema NYC seeks the best in independent film of all lengths and genres. Whether your film is a drama, comedy, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, documentary, experimental, LGBTQ, animation, etc. - we want to show it! Our Opening Night, Closing Night, Midweek Red Carpet Event, and Midnight Madness Grindhouse Horror films are all selected from the very best submissions we receive. Plus, every filmmaker that submits their film(s) will automatically receive a one year subscription to Videomaker Magazine, a leading subscription service that focuses on guiding independent filmmakers with online tutorials and publications (a $20 value). Our only criteria is that your film be truly independent and not backed by any of the seven major movie studios. All selected filmmakers get VIP passes that allow entry into all our screenings, events and parties.

As a film festival created by filmmakers for filmmakers, Festival of Cinema NYC has quickly made its mark on the festival circuit. Sponsored by Regal Cinemas – the 2nd largest theater chain in the United States, Festival of Cinema NYC screens over 100 films at the historic Midway Theater in Forest Hills. Films are exhibited on grand screens with state of the art sound and projection. Attendees get to experience each screening in the comfort of the theaters recliner seats. Additional screenings, workshops and panels presented at the Queens Library at Forest Hills and the Queens Museum in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, offer filmmakers and guest a world class event showcasing the work of truly independent filmmakers locally and from around the world.

Because Festival of Cinema NYC was founded by independent filmmakers we understand the needs and challenges that filmmakers face. Our festival staff is committed to offering filmmakers the opportunities they seek to promote and ultimately have their film seen and sold. Since our inception in 2017, over 10 films have found distribution through our sponsors, with many more being offered distribution deals from visiting distributors. One of the key components to Festival of Cinema NYC's success, is making sure each filmmaker and their film get the proper attention and publicity that they deserve. Our publicity department works around the clock to ensure that filmmakers get as much coverage in news and local media. Filmmakers at the festival have had their films covered in various news publications around Queens and New York City, including the N.Y. Times, the NY Daily News, The NY Post, The Queens Chronicle, CBSN and NY1 News on Spectrum cable. Attending filmmakers are invited to participate on the official festival video podcast, hosted by New York City's largest network of independent film - The NYC Indie Film Collective. Moreover, filmmakers in attendance each get a Q&A following their screening, giving them the chance to engage our audience.

Additionally, Festival of Cinema NYC hosts panels and workshops that strongly appeal to filmmakers. Subjects including distribution and production resources, as well as workshops by industry leaders such as Sag-Aftra and Seed & Spark. Beginning with our 2019 edition, Festival of Cinema NYC has partnered with Cinemarket. Debuting at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, Cinemarket is a secure Online Transaction Platform (OTP) where license owners can sell their film directly to distributors and exhibitors. The platform offers a full-service, end-to-end solution for distributors and producers to close legally-vetted, industry-standard licensing agreements, including payment and escrow services. In other words, Festival of Cinema NYC is now one of the handful of film festivals in the North East where filmmakers will have an opportunity to interact with distributors directly!

Festival of Cinema NYC is a competitive festival that accepts films and media of all lengths, genres and subjects. Awards in 18 categories include Best Feature and Short Narrative, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Music Video & Experimental, and Best Web Series. Audience choice for Feature and Short film are also awarded. Past Jury members have included Anna Garduno, Executive Producer at Netflix; Amy Peters, Emmy award winner; Doug LeClaire, founder of Asbury Shorts USA; and Isil Bagdadi, president of distribution at Cavu Pictures. Winners walk away with an amazing custom statuette as well as over $20,000 in prizes being offered from some of our amazing sponsors.
