Thanks for your patience. We are all links in a chain. Our responsible attitude in these difficult times strengthens its cohesion.

##

Patmos is one of the northernmost islands in the Dodecanese complex of the Aegean Sea, with a strong tradition of cultural activities. It is perhaps best known today as the location the disciple John received the visions found in the Book of Revelation of the New Testament and where the book was written.

The 1st Patmos Cinema Festival marks the reinvention of the local film festival under a community driven approach, in these difficult post coronavirus times.

Patmos Cinema Festival (or PCF) will be a platform for strong stories and independent voices to come together.

There will be loose thematic categories:

* Gaia. A movie about our home
‡ Sea and Cinema. Sea as an obstacle, as a border, as a road or a bridge.
§ Topography of Emotions.
* Human Rights.

In general we will accept any film genre as long as it evolves around a strong narrative.

PCF films will be screened in various venues around the island. Main venue is the open air cinema at the Patmion Cultural Centre.

PCF activities (including the workshops) will take place throughout the year on the island.

PCF is the officially supported film festival by the municipality of Patmos.

The festival will have a competition section. The jury will consist of of experienced and renowned artists (the list will be announced shortly).

Please bear in mind that the website is under construction. It will be fully functional by the end of July.

All safety measures will be held. In case of a corona-virus outbreak the dates will be postponed accordingly.

Athens Marathon International Film Festival (A.M.I.F.F.) is an annual international event dedicated for independent filmmakers. Established this year by “THE BASEMENT” a nonprofit and non-governmental Cultural and Education Organization (B.C.E.O.).

Located in the city of Athens, we look forward to be hosting an amazing event with you and your friends. The A.M.I.F.F. is a multi-day event that takes place in the Beggining of Summer at venues throughout Athens-Greece.

Our wish is for the venues to be open air cinemas in the authentic ancient classical Marathon route from Marathon to Athens. Viewers will enjoy free movies on the white screen, under the full of stars sky of Attika and next to the deep blue of the Aegean sea.

The A.M.I.F.F. want to be a world recognized event, with industry, filmmakers, and press attention from around the globe. The festival is competitive, screening approximately 40-60 films each year.

The film industry today is largely monopoly-based and dependent on large scale budgets for productions to succeed. However, this festival aims at providing a voice for those who don't have a massive budget at their hands but nevertheless, an important story to tell.

According to one of the objectives of our non-profit organization to providing a platform for indie filmmakers, we are able to provide an affordable solution catered to advance the cause of independent film-making. Therefore the submissions starts priced from 10 euro.

KFF was launched in 2013, as International Short Film Festival. From the very beginning, the essential part of our mission was to bring the audience closer to different kind of films and to provoke interest in film art, and furthermore in understanding its impacts in everyday life.

Festival is held annually during September in the city of Kraljevo (meaning "the King's Town"), where seven Serbian kings are said to have been crowned. Because of our historical heritage, we decided to name our festival “Kraljevski filmski festival”.

KFF is offering a filmmaker-friendly environment with a casual vibe, which is the reason why during the last 6 years we have had filmmakers flying in from the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Brazil, Hong Kong, Finland, France, Switzerland, Russia, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Bulgaria…

In 2019, Kraljevski filmski festival had significant changes both on programming and management level by evolving to Post-production Film Festival. Our main goal besides showing great Short films will be to promote the art and craft of Post-production as well as the creative people from behind the camera. To achieve this, the KFF will invite postproduction artists from across the globe for masterclasses or workshops, and organize filmmakers meetings at KFF.

Bendita Tú FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Bendita Tú is an International Film Festival based in Argentina and Spain dedicated to showcasing short films made by women, trans, and non-binary individuals.

The festival is a space for the dissemination of experimental, essayistic, and non-fiction audiovisual works with a formally and conceptually committed proposal, addressing gender perspectives and diversity of identities. We select films that allow for the exploration of non-hegemonic, situated, and embodied approaches, creating bonds between people from different countries through intersectional feminism.

The objective is to showcase emerging audiovisual pieces and debut works that, due to their limited opportunities for exhibition and distribution, remain invisible. At the same time, we promote dialogues between these works and those of established female directors, focusing on intergenerational relationships and the importance of genealogies in the world of cinema.

In this VII Edition, water is a form of resistance and revolution, manifested through audiovisual creation. Throughout history, various authors have used this powerful transparent medium as a symbol of strength. For example, Gloria Anzaldúa describes the river as an element that challenges oppressive structures and represents the fluidity of identities and cultures. Bell Hooks considered water as a metaphor for transformation and resilience, in relation to the experience of being a black woman in the United States. Judith Butler interprets this liquid as an icon of fluidity and resistance to binary gender norms.

Therefore, alongside these authors, we reclaim this vital element as an ally, a refuge where we can feel safe and from which we can express our ideas and imagine other possible futures. This year, the tide rises and propels us towards a political record that demands change. For this reason, we seek works that surpass the limits of the audiovisual medium, vibrant creations that convey the need for a challenging, fluid, and collective existence.

“99.media is a carefully curated selection of documentaries from around the world swooping down into extraordinary lives.” — Rob Alderson, WePresent

99.media is a new kind of documentary film festival: both online and in real life.

It is a free and not-for-profit video platform streaming documentaries in 6 languages (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Italian) + a series of live screenings in different cities where our languages are spoken.

Our objective is to democratize documentaries thanks to multilingualism and to help filmmakers get wider audiences and more impact.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

"99.media has embarked on a beautiful campaign to share films with the world. Subtitling my film from Arabic and English into a half-dozen languages opens the door for cross-cultural impact in ways I’ve always dreamed about. Their initiative to share powerful works of art with the world is a noble calling, and I’ve watched as my film has reached new people. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have my film play on their platform."
— Matthew K. Firpo, filmmaker

"99.media translated my documentary into 5 additional languages, ultimately helping the film reach a much wider audience, and become globally relevant. Films are made to be seen, and reaching an international audience like this is invaluable”.
— Lukas Schrank, filmmaker

“My short documentary was translated into 5 languages by 99.media, which helped it gain a lot more exposure and massively increased its global reach. I have a lot of respect for, and trust in the team, who has always dealt with me in a professional and honest fashion and who I believe has a real passion for short film and a lot of respect for filmmakers.”
