MYTH: Social Impact Film Award

Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine

"We particularly value highly artistic and aesthetic films—short and feature, documentary and narrative—that explore various aspects of life. Above all, we have a deep appreciation for catharsis."

Film Award is organized by the MYTH Foundation, an international cultural community that supports Ukraine's resistance through art. The Foundation is a non-profit, apolitical non-governmental organization. Its primary goals are the promotion of Ukraine abroad, supporting the morale of the Ukrainian people, creating professional national cultural products, and developing cultural diplomacy and cooperation with Ukrainian and international institutions in the fields of culture and cinema.

The MYTH Social Impact Film Award is an international platform that amplifies the voices of artists and projects standing in solidarity with Ukraine. The award focuses on films about the war, the lives of civilians in combat zones, acute social issues, justice, resistance to Russian propaganda, as well as works documenting or highlighting human rights violations during the war.

On November 15, 2025, the MYTH Foundation launched and held the first MYTH Social Impact Film Award, bringing together participants from 33 countries of the free world to support Ukraine. The "Madonna and Child in a Shelter," the main award and symbol of the film prize, found its home in London and Rome, Berlin and Paris, Istanbul and Warsaw, New York and Delhi, Toronto and Kramatorsk—becoming a fond memory of Ukraine and a symbolic talisman for filmmakers worldwide.

The 2nd Film Award is dedicated to the strength of the human spirit and the unwavering will to live. We present works centered on themes of humanity and struggle, freedom and love. Our country is enduring a horrific war, yet it continues to love, live, hope, and fight. Now more than ever, there is a need for life-affirming, powerful stories—dramatic and comedic, quiet and loud—diverse in their essence.

The main theme is: "Love for Life – Against All Odds." This theme unites national and international films of various genres around humanistic values, maintaining a focus on the Ukrainian experience of war while offering the audience a sense of hope and support from around the world.

The Film Award is scheduled as a tour across Ukraine in June 2026, with main events in Kyiv and screenings for regional audiences in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk.

The 2nd Film Award will feature the following Main Sections, including both narrative and documentary projects:

National Feature Film

National Short Film

Introduction

Yucca Valley is the economic hub of the Morongo Basin and the natural gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, which received 2.9 million visitors in 2024.

The town lives to the rhythm of artists and creative minds who come to Yucca Valley in search of the perfect place to create and find a receptive audience.

The festival started in 2019, generating strong local interest with packed screening nights and red carpets, attracting international filmmakers, and benefiting from extensive press coverage.

The Yucca Valley Film Festival has become a recurring, family-friendly annual gathering for the Hi-Desert community, film lovers, and art lovers. Our screenings are attended by engaged audiences eager to watch and support your film.

Yucca Valley also has a rich movie heritage, including the historic movie sets of Pioneertown. In 2016, Tim Burton filmed scenes of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children on Old Woman Springs Road. More than 50 titles list scenes shot in the area on IMDb.

In 2025, the three-day festival welcomed close to 1,500 attendees. We are a small festival, but our community truly loves movies.

If there is something we all have in common, it is movement. As Akram Khan put it: “Movement is the essential ingredient of how the world continues, or survives.”

When our body’s movement fuses with the cinematographical movement, one of the most original film genres is born: dance film. While words can mislead, the body language does not lie.

Choreoscope is the International Dance Film Festival of Barcelona. A unique event dedicated not only to those passionate about dance, but also to those who enjoy quality cinema. Born in 2013, with three full-house celebrated events, our goal is to promote the strong ties with art in general and with film and dance in particular.

Movies do not know any boundaries. Dance does not either. There is a common language joining them. The universal language of movement. Choreoscope ́s mission is to connect this fascinating language with an audience eager to experience something new, different, something special. Choreoscope Barcelona is the dance film festival of those who go one step further.

Film Making is an art and it needs more patience and determination to recreate your ideas to a motion picture. Films Festivals although are typically annual events, they acknowledge various genre of films, mostly from across the globe and encourage people engaged in cinema. They also provide an opportunity for unknown filmmakers to get their movies in front of a real live audience and to have their films reviewed by professional critics. Filmmakers whose movies get accepted into a festival also get valuable press attention and exposure to prospective agents and buyers, not to mention a sometimes sizeable cash award if they win.

From time immemorial, films have played a very important part in bringing people of varying backgrounds together and entertaining them. But, most of the times, the hard work behind making these fields go unnoticed and therefore film festivals started all over the world.

Venice Film Festival is the oldest one in the world, there are two other prestigious Film Festivals of Cannes and Berlin. Although the main crux came from international countries, India also has its very own set of Film Festivals in accordance to different states. Stating a few would be, Bangalore Film Festival 1996, Kolkata Film Festival 1995, Mumbai Film Festival 1990 and many more.

Siliguri is situated at the base of the Himalayan Mountains in the plains of Darjeeling District beside river Mahananda. It is the 2nd largest city in West Bengal and is also known as the Gateway to the North-East. The strategic location of the place makes sure that travelers to North-East India have to pass through this city.

Siliguri is not a very old city, but it ranks in the 19th number amongst 35 places to visit in West Bengal. Being a cosmopolitan city, it shelters a wide number of people with varying cultures and languages, along with a few tribal populations. Although the common language spoken in Siliguri is Bengali; Hindi, English, Nepali, Marwari, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Assamese, Rajbangshi, Tibetian and many more varieties of linguistic people reside together.

Not only these, but the entire region of Siliguri is also famous for 3 T‘s namely: Tea, Timber, and Tourism. There are 45 tea gardens to spread over the blocks of the sub-division. Two important adjacent areas – Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, Baikunthapur contribute a lot to the microclimate of the region. It also has the best communication network along with the nearest railway station being NJP (New Jalpaiguri). Bagdogra Airport is the only airport in the distance of 12km which caters to the needs of Sikkim.

Talking about films, the quintessential Barfi, directed by Anurag Basu, starring Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Ashish Vidyarthi, Saurabh Shukla, Jishu Sengupta, Rupa Ganguly had been shot in Darjeeling, also known as The Queen of Hills which also falls under the North-East region. There are also plenty of regional films that are shot in or nearby this place, thus making it a hub for every type of genre!

Short Out

Lainate, Italy

Short Out is a film festival conceived as a space for reflection on the issues shaping suburban and peripheral areas.

The enhancement of peripheral spaces is today a crucial topic for exploring expanding territories and understanding an urban context increasingly oriented toward centralization.

Within the margins lies an unexpressed — or still unexplored — artistic vitality. Short Out aims to bring this creative energy to light, starting from Lainate, on the edge of the metropolitan city of Milan.

The fifth edition of Short Out Festival will take place from Tuesday 7th to Sunday 12th July, within the natural spaces and courtyards of Villa Litta — an emblem of the artistic, historical, and cultural heritage of the city of Lainate.

Short Out aspires to be a widespread festival, one that does not end with film screenings alone, but gives rise to a continuous programme of events unfolding across all six days of the festival.

ANIMAR FESTIVAL

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil

ANIMAR is an animation film festival where the magic of animation comes to life. Guided by a passion for captivating visual narratives, the festival presents a free and diverse program that engages children, teenagers, adults, film and audiovisual students, professionals in the field, animation enthusiasts, and curious people of all ages.

The festival takes place in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the North Zone, in the traditional neighborhood of Marechal Hermes — a territory deeply connected to the history of Brazilian cinema and also to suburban popular culture in its multiple expressions. The region is part of the cinematic imagination of the Rio suburbs: affectionately nicknamed "Marechalwood". It has been the setting for landmark productions of national cinema and a space where fundamental works and filmmakers circulated, such as Cacá Diegues, Arnaldo Jabour, and Tizuka Yamazaki, whose films helped to build a sensitive and social perspective on Rio de Janeiro and its neighborhoods.

Beyond cinema and the arts, Marechal Hermes carries a cultural identity that also extends to its popular gastronomy, present in the daily lives and affective memories of its residents. The traditional generous sandwiches, affectionately known as "podrões," are a symbol of gathering, conviviality, and flavor, as is the famous "barata de Marechal," officially recognized as a Material Cultural Heritage of the State of Rio de Janeiro, according to Law 9.692/2022, sanctioned in May 2022, which recognizes the tradition of the snack sold at the stall of merchant Ademar Moreira for over 30 years, near the neighborhood's train station—a mark of resistance and suburban identity that spans generations and local histories.

Marechal Hermes also stands out for its cultural vocation, housing historical spaces such as the Armando Gonzaga Theater, a symbol of the neighborhood's relationship with audiovisual media and the arts, and reinforcing its role as fertile territory for film production, exhibition, and training. By occupying this space — between screens, animated stories, popular flavors, and living traditions — ANIMAR reaffirms the suburbs as a creative center and celebrates animation as an artistic, educational, and transformative language, deeply connected to the territory that welcomes it.
