The end of ideologies has left two words, social and capital, as a pair of twin archetypes, social/kapital, which is strangely guiding our time now. That strangeness (in fact is a mere fairness because of accumulation of those two words’ ideological histories) is located on the interpretation position of both which inevitably are inseparable anymore since have turned into mutational forms of knowledge of how we appropriate all activities and cultural production in that context. This mutated knowledge is the meaning of both words in its similar proportion namely, social / capital.
The context plays its role in the transitional period now, which is on the pragmatic pressures rather than symbolic desires. Only seems both words repel each other although they actually equally inherent in mutual dependence and to their implications on our reality these days.
As a manifest of the archetypal fall, both concepts are merely placed into grand discourse throughout the centuries of cultural production on the top of ivory tower, a place where comprehensions of cultural production is likely to be seen and interpreted centrally–monoconsentric—through intricacy and sophistication of powers (political) and technologies (aesthetic). In other words, the language that articulates practices to imagine social and capital at that time and became our legacy of thinking, only allowing a value obtained from contemplation, while a variety of performativity which is celebrated in it sublimated as myths about World View. However, as the withdrawal of modernism, a shift in the understanding and meaning occurs when the concepts of geography and anthropology transformed most phenomenally by massive presence of new life habituation through the media that we are using now. social/kapital reduces those myths and coexist or along together with our performativity celebrations today.
Reduction of those myths seems in this circumstance: A productional milieu from vertical experience symbolically into horizontal experience pragmatically. In other words, the quest for suprasensory concept shifted to the quest for visible interpretation alias everyday.
A new literacy was stretched in front of the most present opportunities of cultural productions. Thus, the end of ideologies, which can be read as globalism nowadays has directed the production structure into contemporary guilds through the most advanced concept of the meaning existence of social and capital. This latter reality results in social reproduction produced by capital markets certainly everywhere either in the economic context or anthropological. Avoiding the strongest possibility of sloganistic assumptions to emerge about the revolutions of ideologies when writing this term, SOCIAL/CAPITAL are arranged in inductive letters, social/kapital is about to put perspective on peripheral domains.
Practices imagine anthropocentric into the concepts of citizenship or citizens as units of community—either as a representation of what would be ideal, either as a sheer performativity celebration, now it is common that the behaviors in a new world (global) when socialism and capitalism become mere of ‘world view’ concepts from the past and no longer sturdy as the two dominant poles which were constructed and applied throughout history by various powers to codify its inhabitants.
Idea and concept about social/kapital citizens have been merging various cultural activities of their existence in a new world (global) without—or only vaguely— memories of the state except local identity as a nation and their differential statuses. Individualism in the body of citizens is imagined almost as closely as shadow of something collective (collectivity). Is there a so-called global citizen complete with attributes and identity really exist apart from geographical and societal changes in which the capital motive is its creator?
The Green-Go International Short Film Contest aims to gather environmentally and socially conscious youngsters to organize the contest and the festival on one hand, and on the other hand, to inspire youngsters to creatively express their ideas in a
short film format. With the shorts, we aim to raise awareness on environmental and social problems at global, European and national level. With Green-Go festival, we wish to create the basis of a sustainable green film event that activates both youngsters and the civil society, attracts interested people and stakeholders and generates dialogues within the whole society about key eco-social questions.
Within the film contest, we accept shorts in three categories to reflect on European awareness, global environmental and social problems and the connection between biodiversity and society.
The Green-Go Short Film Contest is generously supported by the European Commission.

MICGénero, International Film Festival with Gender Perspective, aims to bring gender studies to a wide and diverse audience that may or may not be familiar with these subjects through film. We think that applying gender theory to cinema presents opportunities to understand social phenomena critically: it allows for a revision and reinterpretation of aesthetic manifestations that deal—directly or indirectly— with subjects related to female and male power relations, sexuality and gender roles, among others.
MICGénero's fourth edition will focus on "Human mobility and migration". However, MICGénero's sections encompass different aspects of gender studies and art.

After a mini-hiatus, Short Com will be making it's return in 2019 in Edinburgh at the Cameo Cinema.
Short Com is a short comedy film festival that has grown from strength to strength from humble beginnings back in 2011, where it started in Manchester.
Short Com prides itself on the quality of its programme and the range of comedy stylings it has screened. The most emphatic thing we look for in a film is its content, its ability to make an audience laugh or smile. Short Com has screened films from BAFTA nominated films and multiple award winners to simple home made films that have warmed and vastly amused audiences.
Short Com has screened during the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, in London and for the first time in Bristol and finished its run and closed with its award ceremony at the Glasgow Short Film Festival. One of the largest short film festivals in the UK.
Why submit to Short Com? Short Com prides itself on the quality of its programme. There is a great deal of honour to selected filmmakers who make it to the annual best of screenings. Plus it will be taking place during the world's largest arts and culture festival. In the past we have been sponsored by Blackmagic Design, Final Draft and Festival Formula all donating fantastic prizes for winning films in our category awards section. We will be looking to work with new brands to continue this tradition and bring some excellent prizes.
To get an idea of what we have screened in the past, you cans see some of the previous years winners in the links below.

FIC Multifest is an international film festival organized by Grupo Cortos Verdes Internacional, based in Guadalajara, one of the most important film production hubs in Latin America.
The festival was born with the mission of promoting and showcasing short films, feature films, documentaries, and new forms of storytelling, including those created with the support of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
FIC Multifest is a meeting point for innovative creators—a space that celebrates both the art and the technological evolution of contemporary cinema.
More than just a festival, Multifest has become a platform for visibility, education, and distribution of local, national, and international audiovisual works, expanding its impact through digital media, social networks, and alternative exhibition channels.
The festival positions itself as a meeting point for emerging creators, established filmmakers, allied festivals, and an audience eager for innovative content. A space where cinema is shared, evolves, and projects itself into the future.
Fiaticorti was born in 2000 through the initiative of a group of young people from the Youth Project of the Municipality of Istrana (Treviso).
The year the event was founded is no coincidence: the early years of the new millennium saw the rise of the digital camera, an innovation that made it possible to create and edit videos at home, but also marked the steady decline of VHS tapes, as evidenced by some of the short films submitted in this format during the festival's inaugural edition.
The name chosen for the event stems from two explanations: on one hand, "fiato corto" (short breath) is the result of brief physical exertion (just as short films are brief); on the other hand, a film with a maximum duration of 20 minutes can convey powerful emotions to the audience, leaving them "breathless."
Twenty-seven works from all over Italy participated in the first edition, a number destined to grow steadily yet rapidly: within four years, the festival reached 150 films per edition. As the number of competing short films increased, so did their quality and, consequently, the interest of audiences passionate about the genre.
Initially, Fiaticorti was condensed into a single evening dedicated to the awards ceremony; however, starting from the fourth edition, the format was enriched, expanding the festival across four stages during which the best competing works were screened.
In 2006, the FiatiVeneti section was introduced to reward short films by filmmakers from the Veneto region.
In 2010, the festival's tenth anniversary, the Fiaticorti archive was inaugurated at the Istrana Youth Center, housing a collection of over a thousand works that had participated in the festival over the years.
2011 was the year when historical artistic director Gianni Billio passed the baton to Bartolo Ayroldi Sagarriga (artistic director), Andrea Grespan, and Simone Perotto. It was also a turning-point edition: the festival saw remarkable quality in the competing films and a significant increase in foreign participants—primarily from France, Great Britain, Romania, and Spain—elevating the event to an increasingly international level.
Starting in 2026, the Municipality of Istrana entrusted the artistic direction of the 24th edition to Andrea Grespan, who had already played a leading role in organizing the festival in previous editions, alongside Sara Ricciardi and Livio Meo, representatives of Cineforum Labirinto, an association with extensive experience in organizing cinematic events in the province of Treviso.
We welcome all forms of film production – feature, narrative, documentary, short films, animation, video art, experimental and student. Keep in mind, IFFP is a non-competitive celebration of cinema, making sure our officially selected program has a perfect screening quality, while the filmmakers and guests enjoy the festival, free from industry stress and complicated press or PR agendas. In other words, great films, summer skies, a selection of events, and networking at their best!
