SiembraFest is a biennial and itinerant Colombian film festival that tours different municipalities in the department of Cundinamarca, facilitating the circulation and appropriation of national film productions, while providing tools for rural communities to actively participate in the construction of their own image.

Through its actions it generates emotional experiences that transform the audience. The Festival de Cine Colombiano al Campo is a high-impact initiative that contributes to the generation of alternative exhibition scenarios and the development of new audiences in rural areas of the country, intervening in community spaces that promote the encounter of cinema with art and popular culture.

In its 9th edition, SiembraFest will be present in the municipalities of Villeta, Guaduas and Chía, in the department of Cundinamarca. Additionally, some activities and exhibitions will be held virtually, promoting the meeting of the audiovisual and film sector, in a digital environment, as part of our effort to contribute to the growth and consolidation of the creative industries.

The Festival de Cine Colombiano al Campo is a space for the promotion, dissemination and support of cinematographic works of national production. Any audiovisual work that represents the natural, social and cultural values of rural communities in Colombia is a film with the particular seal of SiembraFest. Works that address the traditions, practices, popular knowledge, manifestations of daily life or problems that affect rural communities in Colombia, through fiction, documentary and animation, may be submitted.

We value the creative freedom of national filmmakers and filmmakers, which is why our selection will include films of any format, length, genre or technique, as long as they are productions of quality, relevance and cinematographic pertinence. The viewing and deliberation of the films will be in charge of the Programming Committee, made up of a group of cinephiles, experts in cinematography and subjects related to rurality who share criteria with the artistic direction of SiembraFest.

“A path is always between two points, but the in-between has taken on all the consistency
and enjoys both an autonomy and a direction of its own” G. Deleuze, F. Guattari, 1987

Based at the legendary DETOUR Arthouse Cinema, in the heart of Rome since 1997, ON THE ROAD FILM FESTIVAL is devoted to contemporary independent cinema - fiction, documentary and experimental - presenting travelogues, urban and waste-land wanderings, real or imaginary topographies, unexpected detours, psycho-geographical drifts, migration and nomadism.

We look for films that develop, through linguistic and narrative skills, a critical and inventive approach to the subject guidelines of the Festival: a traveling mood with digressions from fixed paths, where the route is what matters, not the destination.

The Festival hosts screenings, master classes, meetings, art exhibitions, live performances and music, both at DETOUR Cinema and at a variety of cinema venues, film clubs, schools, public libraries and other unusual locations in Rome and and in its surrounding area.

OTRFF competition consists of two sections: THE ROAD (Features and Mid-length films =>30') and SHORT>CUTS (short films <30')

Features and Short Films in competition will be screened in late 2021 or in early 2022 at Detour Cinema in Rome, depending on the progress of the covid pandemic.

In respect of impediments resulting from the persistence of the pandemic emergency, the main festival events, the award ceremony and the screenings of the winning films will take place live online in "virtual cinema" mode.

“99.media is a carefully curated selection of documentaries from around the world swooping down into extraordinary lives.” — Rob Alderson, WePresent

99.media is a new kind of documentary film festival: both online and in real life.

It is a free and not-for-profit video platform streaming documentaries in 6 languages (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Italian) + a series of live screenings in different cities where our languages are spoken.

Our objective is to democratize documentaries thanks to multilingualism and to help filmmakers get wider audiences and more impact.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

"99.media has embarked on a beautiful campaign to share films with the world. Subtitling my film from Arabic and English into a half-dozen languages opens the door for cross-cultural impact in ways I’ve always dreamed about. Their initiative to share powerful works of art with the world is a noble calling, and I’ve watched as my film has reached new people. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have my film play on their platform."
— Matthew K. Firpo, filmmaker

"99.media translated my documentary into 5 additional languages, ultimately helping the film reach a much wider audience, and become globally relevant. Films are made to be seen, and reaching an international audience like this is invaluable”.
— Lukas Schrank, filmmaker

“My short documentary was translated into 5 languages by 99.media, which helped it gain a lot more exposure and massively increased its global reach. I have a lot of respect for, and trust in the team, who has always dealt with me in a professional and honest fashion and who I believe has a real passion for short film and a lot of respect for filmmakers.”

Daupará is the capacity possessed by the Jaibanás (wise men of the Embera people) to envision, to see beyond: a capacity that in the Embera language means «daupará». The embera universe is made up of a higher level where Karagabí (god), the ancestors and essential beings live, another the world below where the jai live: spirits governed by Trutruika, and the embera earthly world. The jaibaná interacts and dialogues with the Jai and transmits their messages to the community to cure or guide actions through ritual ceremonies and songs.

For us, the word Daupará expresses the power of indigenous visions and their relationship with audiovisual work, with film and video. Daupará as a stage for exhibition and cultural exchange, is possible thanks to the multiple indigenous groups and filmmakers that make it up and constantly renew it.

Come be part of one of the most fun events in California's far north and the "premier festival of the mythical 51st State of Jefferson!" We love our filmmakers and have an engaged and dedicated audience. Win a belt buckle and have one hell of a good time. Plus! Awards are listed on IMDB. (See Awards Below) PLEASE NOTE: Due to some scheduling changes, we will NOT be running a screenplay competition this year.

Some of the feedback from previous attending filmmakers:

"Amazing Festival!! Awesome time!! Filmmakers are treated like family!! Absolutely recommend!!" (Lori Stoll, director, HEAVEN’S FLOOR)

"Awesome festival run by great film lovers and makers who go far and beyond to create an enjoyable experience for both the filmmaker and audience! Highly recommend.” (Shawn-Caulin Young, actor/producer, HEART, BABY!)

"A outlaw-ish alternative to the standard film festival!"
- Tzang Merwyn Tong (writer-director, FAERYVILLE)

"One of the best festivals I've been to!" Marlyn Mason (Actor, DEAR FUTURE SELF)

FLIXX FEST takes place in 2-3 venues nestled in the scenic and historic Scott Valley among the majesty of the Marble Mountains. We are committed to bringing the best in independent filmmaking to an audience hungry for film, and showcasing films that especially capture some of the region's iconic values: landscape, authenticity, beauty, irreverence, the outdoors, vision, rebellion and independence, in whatever form that takes. We also highly encourage local and regional interest films and animation.

Typically we screen between 45-60 films including shorts, and have gladly welcomed the attendance of several filmmakers with close to 2000 Flixxfesters. This year will be the 6th anniversary of the festival so filmmakers can look forward to another amazing and sold-out weekend in September. Competition awards are typically presented on Saturday at a truly unique Awards dinner, with specialized programming continuing through Sunday.
